Good post, there’s no quick fix for a new team and folk writing off players after one or two games doesn’t help, we went away and got a result after years of seeing us losing every away game in Europe I’ll take that!

The result was good tonight. …….but don’t kid yourselves.
Celtic are not as good as some of us seem to think.

I mentioned this earlier….. All the top teams in Epl and Europe are all playing 4-2-3-1…. and Ronny is trying to incorporate / copy this….however we are not a top Epl or European team, and until such times as we have the players who both understand the system and can provide the defensive responsibility that comes within playing this system, then it suggest we drop it for now.
As others have pointed out… The 2 sitting midfielders brown and Johansen become hopelessly exposed, outnumbered…. And why?? Because the attacking 3 and the lone striker , within the Celtic team at least become a 4….. And we end up essentially playing a
4-2-4….. anyone who is anyone will tell you that football matches are won and lost in the middle of the park….. so this 2 man midfield nonsense is crucifying us….

Patchy performance, seen a lot worse away from home in Europe
Massive game tonight for RD, massive game on Saturday vs Aberdeen. Came through both with favourable results.
Ronny bought himself some extra time this week.
Now considering the shambles that we have been in Europe.

Saw little of the game tonight due to amaturish time keeping, thot the game started an hour later, saw the end of the 1st half, saw the first 20 of the 2nd, saw Skoosh’s goal, that was really about it, had things to do, totally miffed so I am.
Delighted with the result, what I seen of Scopivic, he got little service, young Calum looked out of place, El Capitano is the biz, and our keeper is the best on the planet.
Virgil needs to curtail his swaries up the park, if he does, he needs cover, didn’t get it from what I saw.
While I was missing the rest of the 2nd haf, I met a hun, not a bigot, but a hun, now that in itself is a conundrum, but he is a decent enough bloke, told me when he went to the church in the village, I also found out his boy married a Catholic girl, met much worse, anyways, he now lives in a village miles away, so my hun free mountain valley is what it says on the tin >}

Couldn’t agree more. Brown and Johanson don’t fit together in that system. Neither offer enough protection. Been watching Everton’s game with interest. McCarthy and Barry share defensive and attacking duties. But one of them always sits deeper. Also their wide men are prepared to cover inside when needs must. Less chance of being overrun in the midfield. Ronny needs a midfielder in the victor mould. Otherwise we run the risk of defeat both in the SPL and more so Europe.
By the way I think Scott Brown is a great midfielder. He does so much work. But he is not suited to the holding role. He would be the first name on my team sheet. Just in case anybody thinks I’m bring critical of our captain.
