Samaras preparations need a rethink

875

Georgios is hugely important to Celtic on Champions League duty.  His presence and experience is crucial, but his ability to hold the ball up, often the subject of frustration for some in SPL games, is fundamental to Celtic’s chances of playing at this level.

Georgios Samaras hamstring injury, coming late in the first half against Kilmarnock, is a carbon copy of the injury he picked up late in the first half against Berwick Rangers two years ago this month.  Hamstrings mostly to go early in games, or early in the second half, before players muscles are properly warmed and stretched.  It is unusual for a player to get well into a game, when limbs should be stretched, before picking up this kind of injury.  Time for a rethink of the player’s preparations on cold days.

I only saw around 10 minutes of the Scottish Cup tie at Tannadaice this afternoon but was unfortunate to witness Ian Black twice make an offensive hand gesture, once apparently aimed at the Dundee United support.  If he was wearing green  I’m sure he would be dealt with.

If every Celtic family flung out their television, life would get better immeasurably, the propaganda would be nullified.

There are certain propaganda techniques used all the time, that is why I will always stand up for Kojo, KevJ or anyone who is taking ad hominem attacks.

Yer mention of Darren Jackson reminds me-how unlucky was wee Fergus when it came to shelling out for players who lost large chunks of their time with us to illness and injury?

    Apart from DJ,there’s Marc Rieper.Alan Stubbs,Morten Wieghorst,Phil O’Donnell.

Now,if I wasn’t just home from a long day on the lash-having hun mates can be such fun at times-I could think of a few more…….

BTW,the next convention is down for the last weekend in April,SIXTEEN ROADS to confirm. All welcome. Bring a wheelbarrow to get me home……

Sleep well brother and enjoy the game tomorrow. I’ll catch the first half before going to watch a much more nerve wracking game involving young ACGR.

Tone was set when I pointed out they were missing their best player,so would be up against it. To a man,the huns agreed.

It is a very good chat, the secret is to get Bobby as drunk as a skunk so we can get a word in edge ways. ;)

Bobby is very knowledgable and wants to impart his knowledge, who can blame him for that.

I am nothing compared to Bobby but I might have something that might be worth listening to.

Petec, its a small world. One minute you’re posting that song for my benefit and six months later you post the same one for my sleepy wee bro.

Cheers bud, an excellent song which is outside of my normal musical parameters, but which I have as my song of 2012 / 13 (shady’s Kilkelly is fantastic BTW).

Keep on bringing the light bud.

BobM, they did miss the cludger today, no doubt about that. That is so funny in itself as a statement…………….Brilliant.

As for my cellar? It’s more of a cabinet and a loft collection, some of which you’ve sampled. I’ve got one small dram left in from the Glenburgie 64 and that is for young ACGR, but there’s a few more gems in there that need to be released. Plus I still have a few bottles of Three Elements to see the light of day.

Drams, don’t you just love em, hic…………………………….aye:-)

I try to remember this all the time I post things on here.

    No reaction, or its petec…..

I’m not sure if it is a good thing or a bad thing.

This website is definitely the Middle Class of Celtic, I find that fantastic, I want as many Christians to have as good a life as possible, I want any non Christians to enjoy life to the full..

It is very noticable that Celtic do very well when little cash is involved.

Celtic overcome big odds to win things.

    I like that a lot.

  10. A Ceiler Gonof Rust on

Petec, I dont consider myself to be either brave nor middle class, and I’m not a big fan of god either, what I do like is that I can banter away with celtic men……n wummin about things we all hold dear. Life, love and our beloved Celtic.

FFS petec, I don’t go to many bars these days never mind fancy wans. If I’m working away I may see a bit of the exotic but in general the fanciest place I see is the tittie bars of Aberdeen………………………………My own gaff excepted, its a scaled replica of the Taj Mahal, with a beer garden extension.

Jackie McNamara Snr was not hounded out of Celtic for trying to start a Trade Union. He was not hounded out of Celtic at all.

He was a committed Socialist and that fact alone has spawned a lot of daft rumours surrounding his time at Celtic. Jock Stein himself was a strong union man. If anyone had tried to force any of his players out due to political affiliations, Big Jock would have been booting someone’s arse very hard, I can assure you.

Anyway, don’t believe everything you hear. Question everything :~)

Jackie Snr was a member of the Communist Party when he signed for Celtic. Jock Stein was told about this by a journalist and he spoke to the player and they both agreed that as long as his politics didn’t interfere with his football, there would be no problem.

    There never was a problem.

Jackie played about 20 games for Celtic during his 3 years at the club and eventually moved to Hibs in exchange for Pat Stanton. Jackie was more successful at Easter Road before finishing his career at Morton.

I have heard all the rumours and the stories about his politics during his time at Celtic and Jackie has too. He always said he left his politics at the door of Celtic Park every time he went to work.
