Samaras preparations need a rethink

875

Georgios is hugely important to Celtic on Champions League duty.  His presence and experience is crucial, but his ability to hold the ball up, often the subject of frustration for some in SPL games, is fundamental to Celtic’s chances of playing at this level.

Georgios Samaras hamstring injury, coming late in the first half against Kilmarnock, is a carbon copy of the injury he picked up late in the first half against Berwick Rangers two years ago this month.  Hamstrings mostly to go early in games, or early in the second half, before players muscles are properly warmed and stretched.  It is unusual for a player to get well into a game, when limbs should be stretched, before picking up this kind of injury.  Time for a rethink of the player’s preparations on cold days.

I only saw around 10 minutes of the Scottish Cup tie at Tannadaice this afternoon but was unfortunate to witness Ian Black twice make an offensive hand gesture, once apparently aimed at the Dundee United support.  If he was wearing green  I’m sure he would be dealt with.

I agree re Regan …however he has shown appalling naivety in allowing himself to hoodwinked by the huns in the establishment and on that issue has shown himself unfit for purpose

Also …the Sky deal is a pittance …Sky must be laughing up there cuff at us ..controlling our game for such a miserly sum

I will miss the game today……have to take a relative to Musselbrough Racing, and I don’t even gamble……LOL …… will have to rely on CQN for updates ‘on the hoof’ ……. Any good tips ? ……. Not for me, but the person I’m taking …….. MON THE HOOPS …..

Big day yesterday……..it may have finally dawned on the lot of them, or are they going to continue with their pathetic charade that this new team (following the death of the old club) is ‘the real deal’ …….. They’re shoite and you know they are, and will be for decades now….. Onwards and upwards now for all the honest teams in Scotland (Excluding murderwell, who let their fans down badly against the tribute act)

Final word, honest …….. Well done to all the fans who resisted the commercial priorities of the SFA etc, in favour of sporting integrity…… We won, with truth an justice prevailed …… Now, give ipox back to the Liquidators / creditors

  14. Vile, bigoted, racist, dirty swine Dundee United support the last straw for one of Sevcomedia’s finest:

“Yesterday gave us a stark reminder of where we are right now, but also where we are heading. Not only was our performance dreadfully poor, but Utd were hardly a shining example of silky football. Whilst I will fully support the club in its progression through whichever league we are in, returning to “the top” as it is notionally referred to in Scotland is not in itself appealing given the poverty of football there.

Furthermore, Utd fans gave a depressing performance of what an SPL team’s support can be. A general lack of atmosphere peppered with repetitive hatred and lies, along with a good old dollop of sectarianism as the authorities look the other way, most likely towards the Rangers’ fans for anything more than a quiet escape of wind, demonstrates that our goal is far from ideal.

If that wasn’t enough, we would have the renewal of the hate-filled fixture that the media hype up for added hatred. The farce of the “Shame Game”, with intimidation from the stands, racism still an occasional and depressingly uncontroversial ingredient and the inflammatory press reporting is just another reminder of the gruesome twisted relationship that our so called rivals have consciously created. I sincerely hope to never see another match against that club of bigoted and immoral moralisers.

Scotland has become a backward ghetto of little skill or artistry but plentiful hatred and bigotry against all things Rangers. It was said in another context, but remains true in many other senses; for many reasons Rangers deserve better- better than anything Scotland can offer.

I really feel it is time for a permanent divorce from our numerous obsessive haters, in boardrooms, press rooms and in the stands who will never give us a fair hearing or a decent welcome. There is very little or no support- or even understanding- outside of Ibrox for our recovery. The atmosphere and culture within the game in Scotland is irreparably poisonous towards us.

It’s time to stop being used as everybody else’s meal ticket and doormat, simultaneously. Rangers really do deserve better, even if it requires unprecedented measures. We must explore all avenues for an alternative to this land where the only promise is of yet more bigotry and hatred. ”

How the United support can live with themselves beats me. I mean “Go home ya Huns” – sectarianism at its worst.

  15. I think the sky deal is a poor deal for the SPL but probably good for the national team I would gladly boot sky out of Scottish football until they give us a serious deal using the subscription model i.e.10% of what English football gets, why do we undervalue ourselves so much?
