Samaras preparations need a rethink

875

Georgios is hugely important to Celtic on Champions League duty.  His presence and experience is crucial, but his ability to hold the ball up, often the subject of frustration for some in SPL games, is fundamental to Celtic’s chances of playing at this level.

Georgios Samaras hamstring injury, coming late in the first half against Kilmarnock, is a carbon copy of the injury he picked up late in the first half against Berwick Rangers two years ago this month.  Hamstrings mostly to go early in games, or early in the second half, before players muscles are properly warmed and stretched.  It is unusual for a player to get well into a game, when limbs should be stretched, before picking up this kind of injury.  Time for a rethink of the player’s preparations on cold days.

I only saw around 10 minutes of the Scottish Cup tie at Tannadaice this afternoon but was unfortunate to witness Ian Black twice make an offensive hand gesture, once apparently aimed at the Dundee United support.  If he was wearing green  I’m sure he would be dealt with.

    i am sure they have 1 day at end of next window in which they can purchase;

when asked about this anomoly , fraser and darryl king said “not in the spirit of the game” if rangers signed someone at that time.

lets wait and see, once a cheat, and all that

The total number of tickets has now surpassed the 9464 that were here for the last Rangers visit to Tannadice. 9500+ now.

  6. rangersmedia in meltdown as they realise Utd had a younger team and half the wage bill.

Scotland still in touch, but only just. Too many soft penalties in the first half.

Need to play as well as they did in the second half against South Africa,

    to have a chance.

  8. To me they looked every inch a 3rd Div team today. D U were sharper an quicker, especially in the 1st half. They dont realise how far they’ve dropped, they might struggle in the 2nd.

Kal Naismith? Is that short for Kalamity? Any relation to the cheating diver who jumped ship when they went belly-up?

  11. Greggs will do well out of this.

Sally will be doing some serious comfort eating all weekend.

  12. After Utd scored the third I said to my laddie “bet the huns dinnae finish with eleven men” I was right of course when they had one man and an excuse for a man sent off.I despise that wee shitehouse Black as much as the team he plays for.

    …………………………………………………………………………………………………….

Some mistake surely – this is a new club who have NEVER played at Tannadice before?!

    Same old horrible support ‘tho!

    HH!!

  15. Logged on to livescore.com to catch up on results, all Scottish Cup games there except the Zombies getting pumped……….any ideas…….??

  16. I feel that the zombies were well flattered by the result, especially when you consider that the Arabs didn’t exactly set the heather alight in the second half and were no better than above average in the first half. I do think Johnny Russell would do a good job for us, he showed today what he can do when he gets the service.

  17. Surely the penny must have dropped by now in the dressing room..

I’m thinking about the players that joined them in the summer.

Not only have they experienced the duplicitous numptiness of Mc.Coist, but more significantly, they will have seen through the lies and false promises of fast tracking through the Leagues.

I suspect that not only has the manager lost the dressing room, but the whole club has lost the dressing room…..and it doesn’t get any worse for a club.

  18. Only Hamilton winning away today in the cup. Good wins for St Mirren and Kilmarnock and a nice late equaliser for Ross County in the SPL.

They have and according to him it made no difference.

So he’s said the fans don’t make any difference. Interesting……

Sevco pay good wages to poor players..Black is being paid more this year than last at Hearts and Sheils more than he was on at Killie

Their foreign imports are poor , that haddie Cribari , the CB who played today is dreadful

    as are the others

Templeton is a decent player as is Wallace …..Elbows is effective at the lower levels

Their youngsters wouldn’t get a game for any SPL team

All in all McCoist was given a decent budget ….the second best in Scotland and has assembled a rag tag band of poor foreigners and has beens interspersed with low quality youngsters

  21. A new world record for sevco fc?

The fastest ever goal conceded in a National Cup competition.
