Samaras preparations need a rethink

875

Georgios is hugely important to Celtic on Champions League duty.  His presence and experience is crucial, but his ability to hold the ball up, often the subject of frustration for some in SPL games, is fundamental to Celtic’s chances of playing at this level.

Georgios Samaras hamstring injury, coming late in the first half against Kilmarnock, is a carbon copy of the injury he picked up late in the first half against Berwick Rangers two years ago this month.  Hamstrings mostly to go early in games, or early in the second half, before players muscles are properly warmed and stretched.  It is unusual for a player to get well into a game, when limbs should be stretched, before picking up this kind of injury.  Time for a rethink of the player’s preparations on cold days.

I only saw around 10 minutes of the Scottish Cup tie at Tannadaice this afternoon but was unfortunate to witness Ian Black twice make an offensive hand gesture, once apparently aimed at the Dundee United support.  If he was wearing green  I’m sure he would be dealt with.

Been a bizarre couple of shows now from the replacement to the cosy Jabba smugfest. What with Shields v Ref Muppet and Reagans nervously casual admittance to well, I think I would have to call it lying, it is an improvement. No doubt more accident than design but at least things are ‘happening’ on this show.

The Science Museum in London is holding a number of events which explore the science of consciousness through the example of a zombie outbreak.

Among the experiences on offer at the ‘ZombieLab’ is an Academy which teaches people how to act like a zombie. There are also tasks that people can undertake to prove they are not a zombie.

Even if true, there are still many domestic subscriptions, if you take on here as a guide.

I think that more and more pubs are ditching Sky Sports. In these days of dwindling customers.

Sky for pubs is ridiculously expensive.

It is based on the pub’s turnover and not on how many people come to watch a game.

My own local,e.g. does not depend on Sky for it’s trade, but is charged a rate, based on turnover.

For my own part, I ditched Sky Sports a few years ago and do not miss it.

The money I spent on Sky, just to watch Celtic games, is, for me, better spent watching in the pub, with a pint or two.

I even get the benefit of the walk to the pub!

With the alternative providers available now, Sky would be unwilling to lose a tranch of Scottish subscribers.

Regan’s admission today that Murdoch controls Scottish football should be the death knell for both him and Sky Sports.
