YOSUKE IDEGUCHI is heading for the Celtic exit, as CQN forecast TWO months ago.

The former Japan international midfielder is poised to agree a loan switch to J-League outfit Avispa Fukuoka with his former club, Gamba Osaka, also monitoring the situation.

A third top-fight side, Nagoya Grampus, are reported to be interested in the 26-year-old anchorman who will return home after failing to impress at Parkhead after arriving as part of the triple swoop at the turn of last year along with Reo Hatate and Daizen Maeda.

THE WAY WE WERE…Yosuke Ideguchi lines up alongside new Japanese Bhoys Daizen Maeda and Reo Hatate after his arrival in January 2022.

Ideguchi made his debut as a substitute in the Hoops’ 2-0 win over Hibs in the east end of Glasgow on January 17 2022 as football restarted following the winter break.

Maeda scored his first Celtic goal after only four minutes that evening while Hatate showed the promise of things to come in his midfield role.

However, Ideguchi limped off after a brutal over-the-top challenge in the side’s 2-1 Scottish Cup win over Alloa five days later and his career in Glasgow stalled after that setback.

The anchorman, who also had an unsuccessful 12-month period at Leeds United earlier in his career, made only six competitive appearances for Ange Postecoglou’s team.
