SCALES’ FIR PARK WISH

LIAM SCALES is hoping to get a kick of the ball against Motherwell at Fir Park this afternoon.

Celtic’s versatile left-sided defender, a £600,000 summer arrival from Shamrock Rovers, was called into the Republic of Ireland squad by manager Stephen Kenny, but spent a frustrating two games in the stand watching the matches agsint Azerbiajan and Qatar.

Scales, who is still waiting for his first start at the Hoops and his only appearance has been a cameo role in the 3-0 Premier Sports League Cup victory over Raith Rovers on September 23, has been named in Ange Postecoglou’s pool for the trip to Lanarkshire.

HEAD BHOY…Adam Montgomery sees an effort cleared off the line by an AZ Alkmaar defender.

With Scotland international Greg Taylor sidelined with a shoulder injury, the 23-year-old Dubliner may get the opportunity to impress his manager in another must-win encounter for the Hoops.

Adam Montgomery and Boli Bolingoli, who has had only one outing in over a year, are also in the squad to provide cover on the left.
