STEFAN SCEPOVIC celebrated his 25th birthday by firing a blank in the 1-0 defeat from PSV Eindhoven in Gran Canaria.

But the £2.2million Serb striker is determined to make up for it at the end of the season.

He hopes to face Sparta Prague tomorrow afternoon before returning to Premiership duty against Hamilton at the weekend.

The champions, of course, are four points behind pacesetters Aberdeen.

Scepovic said: “We’re not happy to be in second place, but we have two games in hand.
“Everyone expects us to be 10 points ahead, but it’s impossible for us to just show up and beat every team.
“Every side wants to beat us and, at times, we miss chances that we’ll score in other games.
“However, I feel we’ll be okay at the end.
“It’s more difficult to play against a team that defends all the time, but that’s the way it is.
“We just need to play our game and try to score early to open the contest.”
