Schisms, corralling the message

926

Aberdeen are on the kind of downward spiral which is difficult to arrest, but there’s more going on that we know about publicly. I would be amazed if their recent run, four defeats and a draw in five games, after winning their opening eight league games, was all to do with matters on the park.

They are a team who look to be in schism. If so, Celtic Park is the perfect venue to pull together. You raise your game at Celtic Park in a way which isn’t likely in Dingwall. Whatever differences that exist will be set aside, we’ll need to be on our game to win.

Craig Whyte’s bankrupt, unable to pay Ticketus the £18m damages they won against him. Craig’s financial strength was plain for all to see, as he made regular trips north on Easyjet in his worn-out attire, owning up to the fact he couldn’t fund the bank repayment, until a clever knight put him onto Ticketus.

Charles Green was equally transparent. Relying on shares-for-backing deals with pliable ‘legends’. Now we have Dave King, overwhelmingly dependent on PR and a compliant media, while the rest of the world is sticking dates in the calendar. The most common question I’m asked these days is “When’s it going to happen?” It’s no longer a matter of “if” it’s going to happen.

The re-writing of history, evident today, will be rolled out again in due course. “We told you about him”, they will scream. Aye, sure you did. You also made it all possible, just as you did with Green, Whyte and Murray.

The trade in favours, exclusive stories, substances and team-handed loose-limbed 60 minute acquaintances, deployed to sustain the project and corral the message over the years is legend. Truly legend. Fraternity on this level takes more than money, a business lunch or a game of golf.  If that’s how you think the game is played, these guys will leave you standing.  Shed tears for none of them.

The books which will be written when the guilty are dead will sell millions.

  3. LOl at the BBC scotland hurtin’ Huns – skimming through Ronny Deilas truths and rolling out wee jakey orange bastard (see what I did there, tan fans?) Jimmy Calderwood to comment on what Ronny’s ‘got to learn’ about football inscotland.

Sounds like he knows exactly what football in scotland is all about and those hack wankers don’t like getting called out.

    Well said, Ronny.

O.K. Just bring on the Hearts.

This is how Ronny should be judged?

And now we should celebrate his gift to the Scottish “lepers of the Press.”(courtesy Private Eye)

The people we rightly despise are accorded his personal thoughts.

  8. Tim Malone Will Tell on

I wonder if Ronny’s Roar and Paul 67’s article from yesterday are more than coincidental – maybe the powers that be at CP have decided that it’s time to go to war with the deplorable SMSM. Good !!!

On the other big story doing the rounds, does “cease and desist” mean that Broxy Bear has the weekend off?

  9. Measured and articulate and not even his first language. How good was that. Like a lot of supporters I worry about how Ronny sets us up for European games and even one up front domestically but I’m prepared to discuss that come the next game. For tonight(maybe for one night only) Take a bow Ronny.

  10. glendalystonsils on

In the Ronny piece ,BBC also manage to shoehorn in a clip of Rooney scoring against us then move seamlessly in to an interview with the ‘last Aberdeen manager to win at CP’ . I expect they’ll balance it up by asking somebody like Tom Boyd what he thinks of Ronny’s interview.

    ……….then again………….

  11. On the domestic front I think Ronnie will be judged more by the quality of performance and the Development of some of the younger bhoys then trophies. There is this attitude that since R*ngers died, Celtic should win everything as they have no opposition. This is of course total bull s**t, Celtic teams have been failing to win League Cups and Cups for years and for the most part it had feck all to do with the dead Club.

Ronnie has done well on the home front so far, the only trophy he failed to win, we were blatantly robbed.

The problem has been in the European games and the gung ho approach that might be OK in Scotland but has failed miserably in Europe. In these games defenders job is to defend and we must be set up to keep it tight at the back.

  13. Well, guys, there’s what our “neutral” national broadcaster thinks is an acceptable portrayal of what we all had already seen. Now, OK. you can’t expect them to show the entire 7 minutes, but that was a cynical & deliberate attempt to mock him.

If Lawwell had any balls (I said IF) he would tell the Scottish Media that if they want Celtic news in future buy the Celtic View. Proof YET again that we are respected EVERYWHERE – except HERE!

    BBC – Bigot Brothers Corporation.

  14. Hamilton.

I was surprised they read it out. Highlighting that the guy would get slaughtered by the media for an honest open appraisal of things was not something I felt they would read out in a very one sided broadcast.

Clyde on the other hand clearly had peter the celtic fan lined up to dance to their tune of destabilising our support which he was only to keen to oblige them with.

Has there ever been a Celtic manager to be given an even break by the laptop loyal? We probably have to go back to Billy McNeill 1978, I’ve went over every one since, from Davie Hay through to Deila, they’ve all copped it in one way or another, Lennon, Burns and Venglos particularly bad. It’s a constant in this country, to appease the Hun and sell papers.

They see Ronny as an easy touch and the guy barked back today. There was never any cause for the grossly overpaid flop McCoist, or the financially doped Walter to do the same. Even the strong minded and nobody’s mug Martin O’Neil had to sue the DR (Keevins) twice.

Just keep racking up the trophies Celtic, it must hurt more than I ever imagined.

  18. bournesouprecipe

Yes, we will beat the rest in Scotland, but you, I or even Mr Plough could manage Celtic, a team with 4-7x the budget of the rest, to the league summit.

4-2-3-1 isn’t the modern way; there are many other systems incorporating 2, or even 3 strikers, and they don’t involve the side-to-side crescent of doom inherent in 4231.

    Anyway, enough of the hobby-horse.

Jozo – 3 games more than enough, no? :-0

Boyata – agreed (but much to prove if he’s to reach heights of Denayer/Van Dijk).

And you had to bring up Shaun – dammit, you know where the wounds are.

  19. Well done Tony Donnelly!! An excellent assessment of Ronnies ‘ come ahead if you’re hard enough’ chat with the press. Is Ronnie reading the measured response of TDs former posts , when CQNrs are losing their heads, TD is sitting back having a cold Pale Ale and a woodbine. If only everyone was cool headed and able to see where the agendas emanate from, if only there were other optimistic posters like TD, CQN would be a more harmonious place. Tony when you are schmoozing up the Celtic way, don’t be surprised to be covered in petals.

I really hope the ‘cease and desist’ order is in place when they play next. I have wished that for years. If their badge is gone-please-they should replace it with a 3 wheel yellow van imposed on Trigger’s broom.

  29. Just watched BBC Scotland’s take on our manager’s speech this afternoon. They portrayed it as a rant, of course but went a lot further, trying to make him look a fool. Then they dredged up Calderwood from some netherworld to tell Scotland that the negativity we get continually from the SMSM is just the way it is in Scottish football. I don’t remember the likes of Sir Walter or Super Ally having to put up with any negativity.

BBC Scotland simply confirmed that they detest us.
