Kasper Schmeichel had very little to do against Kilmarnock on Sunday, however, the most notable aspect of his play was his distribution. On four occasions he swept an early ball to a Celtic player around the halfway line.
This ability is the new normal at elite level in England and is why outstanding keepers, like Fraser Forster, never made the step up, and why Joe Hart lost his spot at Manchester City. A keeper being able to find a teammate with a 40-yard pass curtails an opponent’s ability to press our defence, which creates space for everyone during the build-up period.
Teams will react to Schmeichel and it will be interesting to see how this plays out on smaller pitches. I expect we will see the central defenders and Callum McGregor get more space.

That was an excellent post.

Nice wee modrin Studies essay!
Did you do a ‘survey’ among your many monikers
before typing of your favourite speculatory topic👇
‘There will of course be a significant legal bill to be settled during this accounting period which we don’t know the extent of; but what we do know is that we will be in a position to discharge it quickly, honourably and straightforwardly without it adversely affecting, or, deflecting the core business and aims of the club’
Loans with no option to buy loans with an option to buy that is where we are heading whether or not we get them is another matter, if Matt wants to move then I respect his decision, if the board want the fee being offered without Matt wanting to go is another issue altogether.
Welcome to the Celtic plc bank because that is what they look like, hoarding money for failure years and why would we fail in a 2 horse race ,if we used some of that money to have the strongest squad and first team possible, the first team squad doesn’t look like the priority to me. I hope I’m proved wrong.
Pistol Pete Lawell is currently involved in advanced negotiations with a reputable toilet roll supplier in relation to the contract for the bogs at Celtic Park.
Lawell’’s insistence on a try before you buy clause has been challenged as “logistically difficult” by the supplier. Further, Lawell has suggested a staggered payment process in the event that Celtic take a punt on the more expensive 3 ply option.
Hundreds of pounds could literally be flushed down the toilet if negotiations are not successful.
In other big news, Michael Nicholson is said to be locked in talks with possible new suppliers of disposable cutlery for the Celtic Park fast food outlets. Insiders say the negotiations have been ongoing for over 2 months and are now at a critical stage.

Unlike r2ngers (Elite sports) I’m sure our club has set aside a provision for any future expected costs – this will have been in the accounts before the profit forecast as would be required by the auditors.
Nicholson and McKay are like a couple of swans gliding along the surface of the water whilst paddling like the clappers underneath. 🤞
Excellent Post Darwin, Well done,

“…….. and why would we fail in a 2 horse race ,if we used some of that money to have the strongest squad and first team possible.”
Can’t disagree with that. This situation at the moment, where we have ONE recognised striker at the start of the league season, with the League Cup up next, is barely believable. I’m not a ‘Board Basher’, I’m not a ‘Happy Clapper’, but even I can work out that relying on one forward player to carry the attacking and goalscoring responsibilities for the whole team is courting disaster. Of course we had four scorers on Sunday and Kyogo was not one of them – but his forward play is of great importance in bringing the other players into the game and creating goal scoring chances.
I really hope this gamble over the next three weeks pays off, but IMO we shouldn’t be gambling at all.
Ave Ave
A taxi driver told me Nicholson is a wimp and a yes man.🤷♂️
I cant possibly comment on that
We all need to be wary about the accuracy of social media.
However I have read that the new Celtic 3rd top is well on its way to become the most lucrative ever for the club.
HH.
Fanad,
Going by appearances,I would think.

Correct. On Sunday when Kyogo went down and stayed down after Killie keepers challenge, you could hear the ‘gasp’ from the JS stand.
“As a result of having the most expensive meat pies in football….
earnings will be significantly higher than previous expectations….”

Away from the team. Why the moan about a 3rd strip?.
Anyone on here intending to buy one?.The over 60s Che Guevara,CQN Brigade.Like overpriced food and drink, buying is not compulsory.Adidas make, market, distribute, part of the reason we get the big bucks.Nothing to do with the club.Quite a few actually want these things, look at the range in the Superstore. They buy stuff for holidays, casual wear.
Supply and demand.As I said,not compulsory.Like a £3.60 pie,that some fans NEED to buy,or malnutrition will set in.
Sometimes,really.

What significant legal bill have Celtic PLC got to pay in the next financials
Fourstonecop,
“When Kyogo went down ,you could hear the gasps from the stands” Really?.
A wee bit of Keith Jackson coming into play there.
😅😅😅😅😅😅
SS,
Think the same myself.
Darwin is back to talk about the Boys club. His favourite subject after the SNP, George Galloway etc…
Until we get in who the manager wants,Maeda can play though the middle,or do we sign some overpriced stand in,while waiting.Hysteria Quick News.
In saying that,Get a fekin move on Celtic, buy.
In a non hysterical way,you understand.
Darwin always talks about the legal financial bills and we all know what he is talking about, despite no such bills being due. It has never once been noted in our accounts as a possible liability as it is covered by insurance. Darwin is just a wee sevco troublemaker.
“The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune.”

and now let the gossip columns fill up.
I love it when we sign someone that no one has a wispa about

Only realizing what this could refer to. If it does, I take back what I said earlier.
Winter’s coming – gotta think of replacing calmac soonish
