Scot Gov wants to talk about Celtic, not the deaths

427

If you want to criticise Celtic for taking a January holiday while the country suffers and you have been stuck at home for 10 months, go for it, there’s acres of space below.  The football bubble is difficult to reconcile when people are currently falling ill and dying in such numbers, the optics are poor; Celtic, really?

But if you are responsible for setting the rules of the football bubble, like the Scottish Government are, you are responsible for what is permitted within that bubble.

If you gave specific permission for Celtic’s trip to Dubai, like the Scottish Government did, you and you alone have no right to issue PR statements of condemnation.

This contrasts with the Scottish Government’s congratulatory comments for Newco after punishing their players who broke bubble rules, a marked contrast to their reaction after Celtic punished Boli Bolingoli.

I get that this Government is a world leader at PR, that their leader appears to spend much of her day preparing and delivering her message of PR brilliance and that they effortlessly dig into Celtic without self-awareness.

And I know this is a lot easier than their day job, like deciding whether to send infected patients to care homes or not, running an education system, controlling a police force who witness sectarian crime without concern, and ensuring NHS hospitals do not have to issue statements of regret after poor cleaning-related deaths.

All this magnificent PR keeps eyes away from how that day job is being performed.  Scotland has a death rate higher than all but six countries in the world, including countries run by incompetent fools, like the rest of the UK – who we continue to shadow for inexplicable reasons – and the US.

Your government wants people to talk about Celtic, not look at the death count.  The former is embarrassing and the latter is worse only in Peru, Belgium, Italy and three former Yugoslav countries.  I am not part of this cult.

If I gave a jot what you thought about my credibility I would give you the time of the day, I am FFS, what am I doing, still waiting for you to tell me I was telling untruths, I’m sure you checked and found that I wasn’t else you would have been on here telling the blog that I was posting pish, but no, you resort to something from months back that is in the grand scheme of things totally insignificant, but you carry on Ernie, it obviously makes you feel important and intelligent.

I am saying things like I believe them to be, maybes the majority on here should show some compassion to me who don’t hold the beliefs that they do, but no, I am slaughtered for mine, aye, that’s the Celtic supports way these days so it is.

  3. TET,

I’m trying to take a sabbatical from this place but scrolling back I’m perplexed by your posts.

I know you are a sound ghuy, I’ve always appreciated you as a Poster but what on earth are you trying to say.

Are you saying that Covid is a huge hoax, and that the Hospitals are not stuffed with patients .

That the whole thing is a lie, and when a Proprietor of a Nursing Home in rural Ireland is interviewed on Telly & says that 10 or more of the inmates have died from Covid, that he is lying.

That all the Staff of said nursing home are complicit in the lie, that the local Community who as you know having lived here would know absolutely everything that happens in their Community wouldn’t know who were in the home & whether there were deaths in their Community or not.

That a large Hospital such as University Hospital in Cork would announce they are at breaking point in dealing with Covid cases & that not one Nurse, Doctor, Porter or Cleaner from more than a thousand employed there would come out and say it’s all shite, there is no major problem.

Honestly TET you are not doing yourself any favours.

“Are you saying that Covid is a huge hoax, and that the Hospitals are not stuffed with patient” .

NO I am not saying it’s a hoax, though it has replaced the Flu, Phenomena and Bronchitis for the death rate, if you care to check you will see that they don’t register on the governments stats site.

As for the hospitals being stuffed, they are no more full that normal for the time of the year, year in year out the hospitals have problems at this time of the year with the above conditions I have mentioned, as I’m sure you are aware, in Ireland there are less than 600 in hospital with the Covid and less than 100 in ICUS, given that Ireland has a population of more than 5.5 million, I wouldn’t really see that is unusual, yet they cripple the country for it, why you should be asking yourself instead of trying to silence me, given the time of the year, in fact it’s normal.

I also have a friend who owns a care home in Rathcoole, he was pulling his hair out during the first lockdown when doctors were NOT allowed to enter his place, over 80% of his folks died when in his opinion they could have been saved if they were given the medication they needed, so is he a liar then ?

He wasn’t given air time, quite the opposite in fact.

With total respect I couldn’t give a monkeys if you think I am doing myself any favours or not, I KNOW I am 100% right on this, I will be proven correct at the end of the day, I was told many month ago that I was posting con theories, just so happens that they have been proven to be true, the” Great Reset” for one

See all the tests they are supposedly doing, the Dr who invented the PCR test, he got a Nobel prize for his troubles has said that the test should NOT be used for what they are using it for, he also said that the likes of Dr Fauci is a fraud and shouldn’t be in the position that he is, but it’s all about the money.

Lenny will be left in place .

Dermot / Lawell will look for his replacement.

The replacement will take on the task unofficially .

He will start to plan for next season before he is even announced.

At an appropriate time Lenny will announce his resignation.

The club will thank him for 2 trebles ( really 1.5).

Kennedy/ an interim manager may take over in the short term, if the season isn’t finished.

The new manager will be announced.

I’ve heard first hand from a nurse in the CUH in Cork of Covid patients brought in daily drowning in perspiration and gasping for breath, she is shattered from the experience.

  16. Earlier I told you when I tried to vote NO, several times on Paul67s poll as to whether we thought it a good idea to sell French Eddie, my vote would never register. On hearing the “result” of said poll, stating 77% voted yes I didn’t believe it.

Firstly, how many no votes failed to register just like mine, AND, how do we know it was Celtic fans who voted yes.

More to satisfy my curiosity, I conducted a second poll on these pages. I know at least those that voted are true Celtic fans.

    Result

Including myself, eight people voted, and of the eight not one voted yes, that Eddie should be sold.

If Paul67 looks in I would hope that he relates this to Mr Lawwell, although I would think he already knew before setting up his ridiculous poll in the first place.

    Real Result

  18. On the Dubai trip the breaking point for the fans was seeing Lennon with a pint after the mismanagement and unprofessionalism which he has a track record on. The fans went tonto and of course the whole trip was questioned with the new strain and rapidly rising covid cases. However wee Sturgeons Mickey Mouse government ( their capability is similar to the toothless Celtic board ) approved it with SFA/SPFL.

Subsequently she saw a snide opportunity to rub Celtics noses in it playing into middle of the road huns/unionism similar to congratulating the Ibrox club for their players breaking covid restrictions. That reeked of hunnery which I hate to use —- but unfortunately is still is alive and Sturgeon is guilty in this case.

The only real concern I have on the Dubai trip is if any of our players test positive on the tests likely to be required to reenergise the UK. It would get awfully messy. This is where the essential travel advice should have kicked in.

On Nicola Sturgeon she has witnessed in the media and front page headlines on Celtic players and staff subject to racist abuse outside the citadel of a century plus of anti Irish, Fenian , Catholic racism. We have seen over the weekend Kill all Taigs in 2 locations in the West of Scotland and hang Neil Lennon. Why as First Minister is she not condemning these attacks —- her silence is acceptance. Her attack on Celtic is opportunistic and political.

I actually don’t vote for any political party ; any politician I have met has been mediocre including 4 secretary of states for Scotland. When I look at Nicola Sturgeons track record it is poor in terms of delivery

    – Waited on the clown in london to take covid action when she could have acted from January 2020 not March 2020

    – putting people from hospital with covid into care homes without PCR testing. A public enquiry should lead to manslaughter charges for those responsible

    – lack of PPE, PCR testing and track and trace

    – schools exams fiasco

    – China deal fiasco which has been put in bin

    – Education and health system declining year in year

    – no growth in the economy

She is a career politician with one objective independence and as a result she cannot deliver across the board. Very one dimensional.

This is who lectures us ; while the racists attack us and the police look away. We are more than capable ourselves of questioning our club and challenging the majority shareholder / board do fix the issues of the day. We don’t need a politician to lecture us —- just put the racists and bigots in jail.

Ps. One other thing she should try running the country and delay the May elections until country is back on its feet

PPs. I think she will end up in a real mess once the games over the salmond case work their way through the system. Her little amnesia ploy didn’t fool anyone. She might not be around for the elections whenever they take place.

Finally I am glad she showed her true colours I may just vote and put the incumbent SNP with a narrow majority out. Payback.

James Forrest: ‘Even if it’s accurate, so what?’ Your words, not mine. I was pointing out to you that there would be demonstrable facts re Neil Lennon’s move to Celtic from Leicester. That you chose to not find them out but deem them useless, lessens your argument. Why argue with someone who regards facts as irrelevant?

As to the latter part of discourse/reply to me; I stated I was unaware of the sums involved and thus wouldn’t comment upon them.

I stated my opinion on why he should not be in the job. I also stated I never thought he should have been appointed.

My opinion, and that’s all it is, is that for the permanent position we needed a young, promising if not proven coach. To me Neil was a dinosaur in coaching terms and that wasn’t what we needed.

Still enjoy reading most of your stuff ON HERE!

  21. In the Company’s interests. Everything Celtic do, or don’t do is in the Company’s interests.

All that is needed is an explanation why it is in the Company’s interests to let the Dubai trip proceed.

What would the consequences be if didn’t? What would they be if it did?

Anyone fancy making a guess at either?

Take a reasoned approach as opposed to an emotional one.

I hope that is what Celtic did?

If we had some idea of what The Board considered to be in the Company’s interests there might be a better understanding why The Board act as they do.

Try as I might I cannot fathom why it is not in the Company’s interests short and long term to call out the biggest risk to ongoing success (is that in the Company’s interests?) and that is to protect our man rivals and their SFA plants when they clearly do not deserve it?

How much has that protection cost Celtic financially as a PLC and emotionally as a community of supporters?

How much does the loyalty of the support allow negative consequences to be avoided?

    Who is at fault?

    Think about it.

  22. I see the digs are starting from the Lenny Fan Club towards those who want a managerial change.

I see two posters have used the term “Lenny haters” and someone even suggests that we some Celtic fans would be upset to see Broonie and Lenny hoist the trophy at the end of the season.

Why don’t you just grow up?

We’re up front about what we want and why. We have laid out all the reasons why we want a change of manager. Poor Lenny, those nasty ‘haters’ are being bad to him. What a lot of sheer unadulterated pish.

There are a fair few of us who don’t like being lumped in with these non-existent Lenny haters.
