SCOTLAND staged a remarkable comeback to beat Greece 3-1 at Hampden tonight to edge closer to the World Cup Finals next summer.
Celtic double-act Anthony Ralston and Kieran Tierney were introduced to the action in the second-half to help bolster the team in an encounter in which Steve Clarke’s side struggled until they were stung into action with the visitors’ opening goal.
The Scots did not have an effort on target in the first hour and the Tartan Army feared the worst when Konstantinos Tsimikas thumped their opponents into the lead in the 64th minute.
Clarke’s side, though, came roaring back and Ryan Christie rifled in the equaliser within two minutes.
The former Celtic midfielder sent over a deep left-wing corner-kick which was met by Ralston to head into the crowded box.

AIR WE GO…Ryan Christie leaps high as he celebrates Scotland’s equaliser.
The ball broke to Christie and he stormed into the box and walloped in the crucial leveller.
Hampden erupted in joy in the 80th minute when Lewis Ferguson pounced on an Andy Robertson free-kick to whip an unstoppable drive high into the net.
And a clanger from the keeper deep in stoppage-time presented Lyndon Dykes with the killer third goal.
The Greeks now go to Copenhagen to face a Denmark team who were rampant in their 6-0 win over Belarus this evening.
The Scots face the demoralised team at Hampden on Sunday as they attempt to push their points total 10 after four games.
