Scott Allan back, Newco will have a plan!

423

Scott Allan had an enormous August, feted by more than one club before joining the champions, so the emotional crash caused by his subsequent injury must have been significant. It was great to hear him return to action with the youths against Hearts last night. We’re competing in three competitions in the coming weeks, so there should be ample opportunity for Scott to get his feet under the table.

I’m a bit curious at reports Dave King and other Newco majority shareholders have agreed a plan to pay Charlies Green’s legal costs, “should they be ordered to do so by the court”.  Aye, very good.  It’s all a bit of a let down to me, who was hoping to see Dave take on the courts, before coming to an inevitable satisfactory outcome with them.

It puts a hitherto unknown limit on the modesty of Mr King, who has now apparently accepted his authority is below that of the Scottish court system. What we haven’t heard is what that plan is, who is going to stump up the cash, or who is going to make up the trading shortfall for this season.  I’m sure there’s nothing to worry about.

With no assets to secure and the prospect of a criminal trial rendering the business unsustainable, further investment at this stage is an act of considerable faith. Such acts do happen, think back to our own John Keane in 1994, who paid £1m to stop the Bank of Scotland putting Celtic into administration. It’s just this kind of act doesn’t seem to happen at Ibrox.  I wonder why?

  1. This blog is becoming a mirror image of our club. Best ‘ players’ oot and some right dross in as replacements.

On the next site ‘upgrade’ can some of the money generated be used to have an ‘ignore poster’ button?

If Huns are able to post without being banned, and I would sine die them, at least give the opportunity to ignore them.

Just think how much money you’d save if you could ignore my horse tips!

@eddie_toner Appreciate it’s all a bit negative Eddie but need to pass it on, would rather be sending info on Fan Zone opening times etc..

Nail hit on head…..what a complete waste of resources on all this negativity before getting into a ground

Will the SFA ever have people with the gravitas, intelligence and desire to get the game in this country back on the road to recovery

Agricultural defending, no TV, tight away ground, big physical team in opposition……………..tough gig tonight

Off to Jura this afternoon. I’ll think of you and toast your health when I’m trying some new stuff;- The Tasteival, The Earth and The Wind. Already have a bottle of “Fire”, and with any luck, we might just have bought ourselves a wee house over there where you can come and criticise my taste buds on a regular basis.!

  4. The first of three big games coming up tonight – bring it on. We have more than enough to take Hears tonight – as always Ill be looking for a fast start and an early goal.

Hopefully we’ll have Bitton and Lustig back in the side tonight. Be good to see our new centre half against a team that might actually force him to defend too.

Could this info not be applied to every home game at CP for a few years now and most games pass without incident.

  6. If Sevco have to pay Green’s legal fees but go into admin, does he become a creditor? He may need some sort of court injunction to get security on their assets. Now that would be some kind of irony!

  10. Good Morning fellow Tims,

Been a while eh? Have I missed much?

Read back two pages. ACGR you are a total gentleman my friend. Had a very brief and enjoyable chat with you at CQteN and would be disappointed if your flounce was permanent. Your language is industrial on the late shifts. It never bothers me. Appreciate the calls ‘Why won’t someone think of the children!!!’ are they accurate? Maybe but I think children are sheltered less and less than they used to be and a click of a button on the net and they can watch things far worse. Anywho’s it’s Paul’s gaffe and he can pull someone if he wants but I hope you take a wee break and come back refreshed.

Jamesgang – I had two emails yesterday from PhilBhoy & BMCUWP to let me know of your kind offer for the use of your briefs on Saturday. Briefs? Eh tickets is probably a better use of language.

Thanks very much for keeping me in mind. me and the wee man have tickets sorted and will be taking our seats for the big match next to my father. Hope you are well and it’s no like you to miss a home game!

Been awfy busy lately and have some things happening work wise at the minute but have managed to keep up to speed with the games and as much as Molde was horrible to watch it does look like that domestically we are strong enough to win the treble this season. Leigh Griffiths is the best finisher we have had in a very long time. The Bhoy is a natural goal scorer. I would still like to see him with a Chris Sutton type partner (Carloton Cole) who will take the pressure of and also set up some goals.

Big Jozo looks the part and Boyata certainly looks more comfortable with him by his side. Look forward to watching that partnership develop over the coming months.

Wee Tierney looks a cracking player. A major positive after the down of the Molde game. There is nothing better than seeing a young Bhoy who has grown up supporting the club pulling on the jersey and showing not only enthusiasm but also skill, desire and a tenacity that is sometimes lacking in these games. I feel for Izzy not only because he got a crack in the head yesterday but people are writing him off already. Tierney was excellent, United were poor bordering on garbage but Izzaguire is a proven internationalist and is still first choice. Tierney needs blooded gradually and protected. The Bhoy’s confidence will be high bad one bad game could set him back. Tierney may have to play tonight after Izzaguire’s incident but if Izzy is OK to play I would go with him.

Tough match tonight. How we start is important. The crowd will not be a factor because the stadium will be less than 3/4’s full. Unfortunately Hertz have a bad element in their crowd that acts aggressively to away fans and even tries to attack and provoke them. This has led to our allocation being cut. A full Tynecastle can be a bit intimidating. Thankfully their fans are staying away for a variety of reasons. Most are claiming it is not a family atmosphere (whatever that means) or that they can;t get time midweek or they just don;t want to see a skelping to the ridiculous I wouldn;t share a stadium with Celtic scum. They really are a funny lot sometimes cause a full stadium with a partizan crowd and less Celtic fans could sway the referee, inspire their own players and possibly lead to them progressing to the next round. They have probably handicapped their teams chances. If Celtic can start well get a lead early I see us relaxing and banging some goals in. The longer it stays 0-0 the more confident the Jambos will get in possession. They have a few good players but Aberdeen wiped the floor with them and it was 3 going on at least 5. I can see us running out comfortable winners as long as we can keep 11 men on the pitch. Hertz are a bit naughty in the challenges. They have had a few reds this season and also have a good penalty scoring record so expect the referee to be busy. If they are not kicking you they are diving. Hope our defence are clued up.

Anyone in the Hertz end tonight brace yourself. It won;t be pretty. Main stand is your best bet but I have done it myself in there many years ago and although wearing no colours got dog’s abuse. I was tempted myself but grudge giving them £20 when their home match at the weekend was only £18.

I would play a strong team tonight. Put this mob in their place early and then give some fringe players a run out.

Get this mob pumped early and get Commons and Griffiths off around the hour to be rested for the Sheep.

  11. GM-They probably did mate,i switched over.A training ground spat,is obviously bigger news than a new club going down the pan, with an owner who can’t open his mouth without lying.Sky Sevco News will be on the books of Level 5 as well,i would guess.HH

  12. Ann Budge doesn’t realise she has more chance of causing bother by reducing our allocation, guys will buy tickets for the Hearts sections of the ground,in order to see the game.

You need a purchase history with Hertz to buy a ticket for the home ends. Limited to two per member number. Anyone in the wrong end and rumbled will cause grief for the member. I live in Edinburgh and don;t know any Tims able to get tickets for their end.

They could have given us the whole Roseburn and the Main Stand!

I spoke to a Jambo yesterday who said they had sold 36 tickets for the Hertz area of the Roseburn. It will likely be mostly empty.

  17. So my big question for today. What does Paddy McCourt do if he finds out you’re drinking with one of them?

  18. Paul

somewhat sarcastically you tell us that newco will have a plan.

perhaps you could ask DD what his plan for us is.

    Happy black cat day!!!!!!!

    HH.

Ps: to avoid any doubt, absolutely nothing to do with Sunderland.

  21. Will the jambos have studied the Molde debarcle and be wondering -is it really that easy to beat Celtic? Just sit back ,plenty of bodies behind the ball and then break away and score easy goals against a 2 man defence.

  22. Well done to those who for whatever reason cannot attend our clubs AGM and are voting by ‘proxy’

it is the way Dermot has cast his votes as a shareholder,in fact it is the way any member of our board has voted for various resolutions at AGMs that they have not attended. It is the democratic right of every shareholder to cast their vote as they see fit,So no more stupidity when talking of proxying votes.its irrational and undemocratic.Use your vote wisely Celts.

Hearts are not capable of doing that.

That is the problem we face and I agree with every word John Collins said about our domestic competition.

The problem we face in Europe is not what JC said, it’s because he’s absolutely correct.

Ps : Corkcelt, Acgr would have been drinking whisky, not whiskey :-)

    From BBC Scotland

St Johnstone: Michael O’Halloran best in Scotland – Tommy Wright

St Johnstone’s Michael O’Halloran is currently the best striker in Scottish football, says his boss Tommy Wright.

The 24-year-old scored one goal and set up another as Saints beat Greenock Morton 3-1 in the Scottish League Cup.

Asked if he was good enough to play for Scotland, Wright said: “On that form, I don’t think there is anything better at the minute in our league.

“I don’t think there are any Scottish players playing better than what he has been for the last couple of months.”

O’Halloran, who played twice for Scotland Under-21s, joined Saints in 2014 after being released by Bolton Wanderers following loan spells with Sheffield United, Carlisle United and Tranmere Rovers.

He scored 10 times last season for the Perth side and last week revealed his ambition to win a full international cap.

But his only other strike this season came in the previous round of the League Cup against Rangers.

  25. I had the misfortune if being an undercover fan at Tynecastle a few times back in the late 90’s and I wouldnt recommend it. I wasnt in the inner clique of the suppoters club so had to make do with home support tickets. One game I was in the main stand seated amongst the more “respectable” class of Jambo trying to pass myself off as neutral vistor taking in a soccer match. Hearts scored and I did stand up but obviously couldnt bring myself to celebrate. Next thing I got an almighty whack on the shoulder and was screamed at “to cheer you bassa”. Even when they score an goal they are still angry and looking for someone to punch.
