Scott Allan back, Newco will have a plan!

423

Scott Allan had an enormous August, feted by more than one club before joining the champions, so the emotional crash caused by his subsequent injury must have been significant. It was great to hear him return to action with the youths against Hearts last night. We’re competing in three competitions in the coming weeks, so there should be ample opportunity for Scott to get his feet under the table.

I’m a bit curious at reports Dave King and other Newco majority shareholders have agreed a plan to pay Charlies Green’s legal costs, “should they be ordered to do so by the court”.  Aye, very good.  It’s all a bit of a let down to me, who was hoping to see Dave take on the courts, before coming to an inevitable satisfactory outcome with them.

It puts a hitherto unknown limit on the modesty of Mr King, who has now apparently accepted his authority is below that of the Scottish court system. What we haven’t heard is what that plan is, who is going to stump up the cash, or who is going to make up the trading shortfall for this season.  I’m sure there’s nothing to worry about.

With no assets to secure and the prospect of a criminal trial rendering the business unsustainable, further investment at this stage is an act of considerable faith. Such acts do happen, think back to our own John Keane in 1994, who paid £1m to stop the Bank of Scotland putting Celtic into administration. It’s just this kind of act doesn’t seem to happen at Ibrox.  I wonder why?

  1. 3-0 loss.

Arsene not looking too arsed. Low priority that tournament when his team’s got a chance of winning him his first title in 12 years.

Deila cannot keep the lid on things at CP. More turmoil and ill-discipline. Ironic.

How long must we wait until this do-nothing-coach is sacked?

Oh yes. You had better believe it. This guy is on par with Mowbray, Barnes, Dalgleish…

Yes Dumbarton had him on a short term contract last season but you would have thought he could still get an SPFL contract if it came down to ability.

Now he can’t even get fixed with a lower tier team. It seems clubs won’t touch him with a barge pole for some reason.

But it sounds highly improbable, as does the rest of what Wilson said today. The defence seemed to fold after McGlone more measured evidence.

Paton’s defence was incrimination – it wisnae me it was ma mate. Some mate eh? Was he hapoy to take the blame for Paton and was his former teammate prepared to lie under oath? Who knows.

Had Paton not changed his plea we would have found out what the Sheriff thought. He changed the plea from not guilty to guilty after considering the evidence led. Wilson doesn’t look good in this at all.

EPL teams treat all their domestic cup competitions with contempt ..

Clinging onto Murdoch’s millions is the only priority ..

Europa league is treated with contempt too .. The fact their clubs aren’t as technically gifted as the Germans or Spanish to compete in the CL .. All stems from their greed .. So, ha ha .. Feck them!!

And BTW .. Paton, doesn’t anger me .. Looks like a Hun, acts like a hun ..

That grassing bassa, Wilson, that’s ripped ma knitting .. :)

  7. Brisbane67,

I doubt Ronny will be sacked until we have secured at least 10 in a row, and seen off 3 or 4 more reincarnations of the now defunct, permanently deed team.

    Hail hail my friend.

  8. Hey Aw Naw

I thought the Glibby statement had to be your work – such was the level of hilarity.

The last two paras are the work of comic genius.

“Furthermore, I have sent letters to Sports Direct in my capacity as a director of Rangers Retail Limited taking them to task for poor business practices and corporate governance failures. The Club believed that it was entering into a joint venture with a large public company that would behave as a partner should and would conduct its business affairs in an appropriate fashion.

In my 40 years of business, I cannot recollect having dealt with a public company that is run more like a wholly owned family business and appears unconcerned with other stakeholders – partners or otherwise. It remains my intention to ensure that Sports Direct is legally and financially held accountable for its failures.”

    Hope you are doing well

Surprised at that but have to admit he has proven he can play at that level .

  10. Careful With That Tax, Moonbeams on

Wonder if Norwich would have ever considered spending that kinda money if the English paying public didn’t fall for auld Rupert’s propaganda ..

    Biggest, besstest .. Innit ..

Apart from Ferguson’s jammy CL win against Bayern ..

    Anyway, rant over ..

  11. So the smsm decide to focus on the victim being to blame in Zaluska case.

Selective judgement allowing them only to use Wilsons testimony and completely ignore McGlones evidences which refuted it.

The Neil Lennon tactic of he brings it on himself used again.

Some would think they had an agenda?

  12. That’s the level it is now in the EPL bubble

I don’t want to see Paul Paton banned because of his assault on our ex goalkeeper. Why should he get off so easy?

I’d like to see Lukaz’s henchman drive over him in his Range Rover (I assume he drives one, if not a large truck would suffice) then reverse back over his broken carcass.

What’s the point of a three match ban when you have access to the Polish mafia.

    Sort your shit out Lukaz.

  14. Ross Wallace scored one and created one for Wednesday against arsenal .

Who kept him out of Celtic team ?

Lee naylor was it..Ross has made good career for himself. One of the few to go on and do that.

I’ve been mulling over this since I met Paul67 in the North Stand concourse before the kick off on Sunday. Paul approached me and said “I’ve had complaints about you, for language and content”. My immediate reaction was “ok I’ll calm it down”.

On reflection I cant be what I’m not, so its time for me to shuffle off my ACGR coil and GTF from this great Celtic place. While I admit I’ve sailed close to the wind once or twice, I doubt I’ve been any worse than some other over exuberant posters. However, that’s not an excuse, it’s Pauls blog and I’ve probably broken most of his house rules for most of my time here. It was never my intention to deliberately offend anyone, well ok, maybe just the fuckwits, cocks and negawanks, on the odd occasion:_)

To whoever complained about me, I say to you, suck me off you prick and get a life, a sense of perspective, a sense of humour and of your own importance and failings. To those who didn’t, I say peace on you my Celtic friends.

I’ve had a brilliant four years on here and met some friends for life. I’ll see my friends at paradise, and the CQN Dram crew know where to find me, we will neck that nectar come the day.

Lastly, for the brain dead prick that is Tony Donnelly I sincerely hope you have no offspring and that your brand of support dies with you. Hamiltontim, I salute you sir. You are the future of our club when the dinosaurs die. You’re patience with this wankstain has been nothing short of remarkable. Make sure the Celtic Trust use my votes well in voting against anything and everything against the brain dead brigade.

I’m off to my love chariot to see what the size 22 is up to.

God Bless Celtic, Celtic Men and Wummin and Paul Brennan for having me in his house for four years.

  18. There is too much anger on the site. Too much bitterness. I think we all feel frustrated when the team do not play to their potential. Politics also plays a part, too much time spent on others’ differences rather than what unites us, our love for Celtic.

Celtic is a unique institution and we each know in our hearts why it is so, be it part of our DNA if brought up in Scotland or further afield.

It saddens me when I read of posters who I don’t personally know yet enjoy their posts , have online fights with each other.

A wise mentor of mine gave me a wonderful piece of advice almost two decades ago, after I had written a scathing email about a poor response to an urgent computer, mainframe, issue.

He told me to commit my initial thoughts to paper, hold it for an hour, or better still overnight, and go back and rewrite it bearing in mind those who will and those who could see the email.

Maybe you should have done the same.

Hopefully we will hear from you tomorrow :-)

    Can I suggest something?

    #1 Reconsider

    #2 Take Paul’s advice

#3 Recognise that on CQN as in other walks of life, you will meet soul-mates and nemeses alike.

… and most importantly, some advice that i received from a wise elderly gentleman…

#4 Behave online exactly as you would offline.

  24. We now have three ‘pressure’ games coming up – Hearts/Aberdeen/Molde.

From past recent experience of ‘pressure games’ like Legia, Maribor, ICT(SC), Aberdeen(Pittodrie), Malmo and Molde(Away) – it is likely that we will ‘bottle-out’, somewhere along the line.

There can be no confidence that we will win any of the three, only hope that we do.

I am NOT being defeatist when I say that it would be no surprise if we lost all three.

Yes, being the best of a bad lot means that we will win the league again.

The problem lies squarely with the management and playing staff and NOT with the budget that they are entrusted with – we are getting minimal ‘bang for our (substantial) buck”

There can be no more excuses – we are getting more inept – if we do flop over the next three games in three competitions, we will of course get the usual tripe prior to the next match against Ross County – “we are determined to get back to winning ways”, trotted out by players and management alike – Ronny is out of his depth, just like most of the players he has brought in.

  31. Colour Blind Bhoy on

I’m torn between feeling nervous and over confident about tonight. My nerves will go if our full backs tuck in tight and don’t get too ambitious about being wingers all night which will stop Hearts breaking with pace. My over confidence comes from the fact that, leaving aside last month’s no score draw, in our previous 5 games against them over the last 2 seasons, we scored 18 goals without reply.

So come on the Hoops,, a disciplined performance and a convincing win, 5-0 on my coupon.
