Scott Brown defence, pyro problems, the joy of Ryan Christie

265

Scott Brown was assaulted at Ibrox on Sunday and was relentlessly taunted for a family bereavement.  His trademark celebration was understated but marked the treatment he received.  He has been cited by the SFA for “not acting in the best interests of Association Football.”  There is plenty of precedent for Celtic’s legal team to call in his defence.

I have stood within two yards of Celtic fans throwing pyrotechnics onto the field of play.  I have also been in a stairwell, exiting a game with thousands of other packed Celtic fans, when a device went off to the delight of a handful, causing panic to hundreds of others.

If you think appealing to a desire not to damage the reputation of Celtic fans will stop those throwing pyrotechnics, you are wrong.  The reputation of Celtic fans is inconsequential to anyone who throws an item at a player or onto the field.  This is their chance to set their own rules, their personal reputation remains just fine.  If you think they are going to stop because Neil Lennon tells them to, you are deluded.

This will result in blanket video surveillance, a handful of prosecutions, and then we will get back to normal, when Celtic fans’ reputation was the envy of world football.

How much have we missed Ryan Christie?  It is not just what he personally brings, it is having him, Callum McGregor and James Forrest on the field at the same time allows us to move the ball at a pace that is not possible without them.

  1. Interesting how the uber fans in the support and associated buses are so desperate to support the rest of the SPL by increasing their gate takings.

Seems that we have seemed to have developed a low rent day out brigade recently.

Incredible that some in the away support don’t even have season tickets for CP.

    Small thing but ……..

& I dont need to smell any coffee as I dont give feck all to the SFA or go to Sevco games. I am content with that.

Isn’t Gerrard’s version of violent getting his mates to hold a guy while he ladles into the defenceless victim?

    Allegedly.

  5. Hopefully someone acting in the best interest of Scottish football can get me a ticket for the semis and then the final,,,,,,,,,,Hampden without the hun !!!!!!!!

  6. SFA at it again with trumped up charge on Brown.

MSSM launch all out assault on club and Celtic players.

    Resolution 12 still being ignored.

But no worries as Celtic plc will come out swinging and ban the Green Brigade because someone behind their banner threw a firecracker.

  7. Go tell the Spartim on

There are many things i would love the club to do, though doubt they would ever happen.

Firstly i would release a statement along the lines that Celtic are appalled but not surprised that the, attempted murders, assaults, faux outrage, agenda setting rhetoric, calls for reprisals and ridiculous charges for merely winning a football match at your home stadium and in front of your own fans is a result of the same common denominator. (dont say anything else but i think if anyone wants to know what they could easily find it out)

Secondly, if we get to the final and win it and our captain is suspended for it, as is the SFA’s want, then the only person we send up to collect the trophy is a suited Scott Brown who merely takes the trophy, doesnt shake any hands and casually walks down the steps with it, then marches up to the support and plants it on the ground and leaves it there.

both would surely be a bigger embarrassment to the SFA and the best wee bigoted country in the world, than having Eck in charge of Scotland and the other Eck (Salmond) in jail.

  8. Interesting position on twitter earlier. The date of the hearing and the timing of the date for the next visit to bigotsfield could be timed deliberately so that if Scott were given a 1 match ban these two things would coincide. So possibly an attempt to stop Scott being at Ibrox.

Perhaps they are more concerned to stop Scott being there because they fear the uncontrollable will revert to some very nasty practices given half a chance and that they might actually have to respond….

    Alan McRae SFA or Sevco?

Discussing the notion that he wants a bigger challenge for Celtic, but controversially he singled out Rangers as the club he wants to provide it.

He said: “They have done it once [gone unbeaten], hopefully it won’t happen again next season, because we’ve got to have challengers.

“They know you need to have people challenging, otherwise it will get very boring and dreary.

“We definitely need a good, strong Rangers, they are back, but they still have a bit to go. I’m sure they will eventually.”

“ Anyway, we’ve stuck Boaby in for Sunday, so fingers crossed“

  12. TERJE VIGEN @ 1:08 PM,

It is certainly a different type of site in that no comments are made and it isn’t the easiest of reads.

However that is the nature of the material that it deals with, you may prefer a different setup and a more user friendly interactive site but imo that’s not what Res12 is about.

The fact is that over the piece of the “great football scandal”, the authorities have brought to bear a huge amount of misrepresentation, excuses and deflection to ensure…

Rangers kept their ill-gotten titles and cups

we’re not held accountable for their wrongdoing

were allowed to continue as the same football club utilising the continuity myth.

The poeple who perpetrated the wrongs and who colluded in the cover up were protected from any fall out over the corruption and malpractice.

The Rangers 2011/12 UEFA licence and the WTC cover up always had a smoking gun, however any number of devices and expedients were used to cover this up.

What the New site does is, without mentioning each and every counter arguments, is to set forth the facts in a timeline backed up by documentation and other proofs that makes the case incontrovertible.

Remember this issue is still live, pressure must be bore against the authorities to see this through.

It has implications for LNS, the five way agreement and last but not least the right of Celtic stakeholders to have an open and transparent view of their Club, the Scottish and European footballing authorities.

Now is the time for the club to make a proper stance, spend some money on a top legal guy (MIT are you listening!!) to take them on and get this sorted once and for all. Why is it, that the club sit back and take this crap. Over and over again, without doing a thing

Also, we should state clearly that the next game at Parkhead against the hunscum, the away support are denied tickets, that way, Broony can celebrate the win without upsetting the precious wee violets.

Great statement by the Green Brigade

    —-

    You think?

“…safe, sensible use of pyrotechnics…” In a tight crowd? Next to people who have no choice but put up with it? Risk of burns, smoke inhalation, frightening children? Safe? Sensible? How does that happen, then boys?

“…small-scale pitch invasions – whilst largely harmless…” Nope – not having that at all. Fans are housed in the stands – stay there. Field of play and surroundings are for plyers, officials, safety people.

    JUST – DON’T – DO – IT.

I agree with the comments about policing. Using that as a cover for loutish, agressive (try sitting in your own seat if it happens to be occupied by the GB), neddish, unsafe behaviour that is damaging to individuals and to Celtic is reprehensible.

The more I hear from them the more I am struck by how consumed they are by their own self-importance.

Good statement from the Green Brigade distancing themselves from the pyro throwing and pitch invasions that huns of many colours have been castigating them for while pointing out the growing campaign to treat football supporters like terrorists.

I’m sorry but in my opinion https://www.res12.uk/ is not a fantastic site.

It might have fantastic motives or fantastic values or fantastic plans, but it is not a fantastic site. It is amateurish. It has multiple errors (spelling, content etc). It has superfluous pages. For it to be suggesting that comments should be made to a particular post on SFM is not one of the attributes of a fantastic site. I’m amazed anyone can follow a thread on SFM. It is the most complicated football related site I’ve ever come across.

I think the need and audience for a fantastic site on Res 12 is there. Unfortunately I don’t think this is it.

    ====================

    It isn’t a site/blog as such.

Its an archive of events in chronological sequence where a future event questions what may have been said in the past, which adds to the complexity but more than happy to hear from you if it straightens anything out.

It contains multi narratives that other bloggers can pick on for as long as Res12 remains on the AGM agenda.

If you would care to e mail auldheid046@gmail.com with your specific points, happy to tidy things up.

GRAB yourself a bargain this week, and wear your team colours with pride with further reductions now available across the 2018/19 Home Kit range, available in-store an online now.

A weekend Glasgow derby win for the Celts extended the champions’ lead at the top of the Premiership table to 13 points, and their dominant midweek performance against St Mirren made sure they maintained that gap. Now as the season really heats up, supporters can get kitted out in the famous green and white, and make some great savings with further kit reductions!

Buy direct from Celtic and get your hands on an adult short-sleeved shirt for just £30 (was £56) or a short-sleeved junior shirt for only £25 (was £40), plus a range of infant and baby kits available so you can get the whole family kitted out!

The biggest promotion for Res 12 and whether anyone who has strong feelings on it is now, season ticket renewal time, any other protest will not get the attention of Celtic plc.

Lets see how Celtic handle this piece of crap from the SFA on Scott Brown.

    =========================

There are a number of narratives arising from the Res12 Archive as set out by Chairbhoy at

    https://www.celticquicknews.co.uk/scott-brown-defence-pyro-problems-the-joy-of-ryan-christie/comment-page-2/#comment-3358696 above

but the one that will make it difficult for Celtic not to address, is that the known evidence points to them being defrauded by Rangers FC in March 2011 and the SFA participated in covering it up from September 2011 to date.

That evidence re March 2011 was presented to a lawyer expert in criminal law, who concurred with the heading in the Archive that the licence was granted on false pretence

That is what the SFA have been trying hard to keep under wraps from 19th September 2011 if folk visit the archive at https://www.res12.uk/ and check for themselves. and what follows from 2015 on the archive supports the view SFA did not want that to come out.

Now if that advice is wrong, the SFA only have to explain on what grounds, which is what Res12 would have delivered had it been passed.

If however the advice is correct, shareholders have ever right to ask what Celtic intend to do about it.

From the moment Res12 was adjourned in 2013 the issue was never going to go away.

  26. The morning after the night before its worth reflecting on not just the game or pyros but the comments on Celtic sites, we were muck, dire, urine etc. We won 2-0 away at at ground where clodagh managed tae throw away 2 points earlier in the season. Possession, according tae the beeb, was 55% to 45% however as I said yesterday possession is not a true recflection of the game.

Shots were 18 to 4 for us and shots on goal 6 to 1 now that’s a truer reflection, somehow though we committed more fouls than the Buddies that’s more a reflection of the mitb though.

We are now on course for our 50th title, are our support becoming complacent. The year we were chasing the 10, on the shortest day of the year only 19,000 showed up for a home game against St Johnstone, this can I suppose be blamed on the last day for Christmas shopping, shops were shut on Sundays back then.

One week later almost the same crowd showed up for an away game tae the templars, yet on New Years Day a similar crowd was on hand for the real Glasgow Derby at home tae the Bully Wee.

On the Monday at work following the St Johnstone game one of my colleagues at the time was complaining about the support saying unless we score a barrow load they’re not interested now.

Is this now the case, our team is in dire need of our support as the knives are well and truly out, so lets get behind them.

  27. GB statement — they have an ego the size of Jupiter.

  28. TT @ 4.28

The old board always complained that they lost money in the last two seasons of the 9iaR.

Crowds were down at the time — the fashion accessory of choice at the time was a hard hat with green / white / gold stripes so the challenging atmosphere of the early 70’s could have had something to do with it.
