We’ve complained for years about the way media scrutiny falls haphazardly on Celtic but God help us if we ever acquire the cosy relationship others cultivate in order to avoid the light scrutiny required to keep them healthy.
Celtic players are allowed to drink before their day off (as is the manager). Scott didn’t punch anyone, didn’t threaten anyone, didn’t drive under the influence, didn’t speak inappropriately and didn’t break club rules.
Had he not sat down this would never have been a story, even if he’d had an additional 10 drinks. ‘Scott Brown sat down’ is the story – and that’s the worst they can come up with. Paying someone £100 for a photograph and spending 30 minutes writing about it has to be the cheapest cover in publishing history. It doesn’t pass the ‘news’ test, it is celebrity gossip.
Pin it to the dressing room wall and he’ll be Man of the Match on Sunday, you can bank on it.

Celtic, or, Brown himself, must clarify – was it this week? – If it was my previous position that he must be banned stands – if it is an old picture, then it has to be challenged VERY strongly – I will then apologise.
Using an old picture would be mischief-making and blatant lying by the Sun.
Paul is wrong to say that it is “Scott Brown sat down” – if he is sitting down drunk and as Paul says “Ronny allows this the night before a day off”, then Ronny is not the man we all thought he was.

The very first post I read from relevant newcomer Alfie Noakes, I shook my head and said that lad won’t annoy me but the guys who respond to him will, and so it has turned out..
My gut feeling is that Alfie Noakes has been around before in another guize, if I had to hazard a guess, I would plump for The Singing Dick but whether it was TSD or Ryecatcher or whoever, I am confident that he had a previous CQN incarnation.

Even before today’s Sun stuff, the media were focussing on Brown as the instigator of last weeks fracas, not the Clarkson one.
I got to wondering, why it was when he captains Scotland, he is the Golden Boy and the driving force of Strachan’s team?
Yet, when he captain’s Celtic, he is Public Enemy No 1.
One of the main stirrers this past week has been DUtd’s manager.
For me, this guy has a reputation amongst some Celtic fans which I think is undeserved.
I’ve read about the great service he gave to the club over ten years.
In ten years, he made 255 appearances, averaging 25.5 a season.
If you consider that for a few of those years, he was a regular, then for a long time he was out of the frame.
It took Wim two games, against Hibs and Dunfermline, to suss out that he was never a fullback and only played him right midfield.
I can recall only two season where he showed any level of consistency. Both contract years.
What I also notice was, even when he wasn’t playing, he was frequently the subject of newspaper articles, telling us what a good servant he was.Mainly the Sunday Mail.
I always felt that he never cared enough.
I don’t expect any former player who is now earning his living at another club to show us much allegiance, but, I don’t expect the snide comments that he has come out with prior to our games.
Never a true Celt in my book.

Considering Paul has led with this blog regarding the story, plus the numerous other websites and blogs which make the world a very small place to live in – I think there is an urgent need to nip it in the bud and kill the story dead ASAP.
I dont know why we would wait for the story to grow wings.
Lets also remember the equally as important fans who do not have access to or are unable to work a computer with internet access who deserve to know the truth sooner rather than later.
