We’ve complained for years about the way media scrutiny falls haphazardly on Celtic but God help us if we ever acquire the cosy relationship others cultivate in order to avoid the light scrutiny required to keep them healthy.
Celtic players are allowed to drink before their day off (as is the manager). Scott didn’t punch anyone, didn’t threaten anyone, didn’t drive under the influence, didn’t speak inappropriately and didn’t break club rules.
Had he not sat down this would never have been a story, even if he’d had an additional 10 drinks. ‘Scott Brown sat down’ is the story – and that’s the worst they can come up with. Paying someone £100 for a photograph and spending 30 minutes writing about it has to be the cheapest cover in publishing history. It doesn’t pass the ‘news’ test, it is celebrity gossip.
Pin it to the dressing room wall and he’ll be Man of the Match on Sunday, you can bank on it.

Great CQN11 night – good to catch-up with old friends and put some faces to bhoys that I have only exchanged posts with on the blog. Big thanks to all who organised the night and a special mention to Lennybhoy for his efforts.

A quick story about karma…
So a lady walks into my shop yesterday. She and her husband are Celtic through and through, and they know I am – we’ve had many a chat. We have a chat about Hampden – she’s not going but her husband is, with his brothers. I’m not going – I don’t have a ticket.
She’s looking for some advice on stuff for her elderly mum, which I happily give her and put a wee extra in her bag for herself as she’s a wee bit down (her ma’s not well).
An hour later, in comes her husband. ‘I hear you don’t have a ticket for Sunday, big man! Well, my brother can’t go, so (slaps ticket on counter) there you go. Thanks for helping my wife out.’
I still can’t believe it. The guy with the biggest smile in Area D2 tomorrow? That’ll be me…

No strippers….ended up in a “discotheque” in Coatbrig till 3.30am drinking flipping tequila, my young niece said to me today “Uncle Gerard, Media is even too young for me” she is 27 !
By the way, when I got home my amazing understanding future wife, git out of her bed and made me 2 pieces of tuna mayo & 2 pieces of egg mayo and had the cheek to pour me & Smirnoff & diet coke……..
