If Scott Brown departs in the summer to join Aberdeen as Stephen Glass’ assistant manager, the body of work he will leave behind is beyond what anyone could imagine when he arrived at the club in 2007. With 10 league titles, six Scottish Cup and six League Cup winner’s medals, his major trophy haul is greater than any Scottish club apart from Celtic and Oldco Rangers. He is also one of the few in the modern era who could have gone to the top flight in England and chose to stay at Celtic.
He will be 36 in June and although his recent form has been as solid as ever, he no longer has the mobility to cover the ground he once did for Hibernian, Celtic and Scotland. I will be sorry to see him go as he would be an invaluable resource to the new manager but the timing is probably right. It would, however, be good to see him leave after raising the Scottish Cup one more time.
2020 saw us miss out on the CQN Charity Golf Open for the first year since 2005 (can’t remember why). Ever the optimists, we have put Friday 23 July in the diary at our usual corner of Fife in the hope that by then the world will be a bit more sociable. I’m sure, on this occasion, that the PLC have appointed advisors to headhunt and report back to the board on candidates for both roles, if that’s the way they’re going. Surely, surely, they’ve learned the mistakes of the committee way of appointing. This has to be done properly this time, has to be, or, it will cost him in his pocket, and I’m pretty sure DD does not like that feeling one little bit, por cierto

I disagree with your view the DD statement was a fraud, a sham, gaslighting the support with zero information.
It’s useful to know his shareholding isn’t available for selling, contrary to the opinion of many internet bloggers for at least the last three summers.
It’s useful to know they are using the Nominations Committee to process the new manager. Bringing in Tom Allison in 2019 to confirm NFL’s permanent position looks to have been their way of settling a majority position on the full Board. I prefer the decision to be made inside the club, not imposed from outsiders.
Personally, I think the suggested idea of having manager, CEO, DoF and Hammond is unworkable. Four people doing three jobs; run the club, run the football operation, run the dressing room.
Eat less. Move more. Keep breathing. Smash the huns.
Sunday’s events are proof that the evil genie is well and truly out of the bottle.
