CELTIC can take a step closer to the illustrious treble when they take on Hearts in the Scottish Cup quarter-final this afternoon.

Ange Postecoglou will be plotting to make sure the Hoops will be in the semi-final draw when it is made on Monday night.

The national competition was the one that got away from the 57-year-old Greek-Australian gaffer last season when he lifted the League Cup in December 2021 and the Premiership title five months later.

Second-tier Inverness Caley Thistle have already booked their place in the last-four ballot after their 2-1 win over Premiership Kilmarnock in the Highlands last night.

Michael Beale’s side will take on Raith Rovers at Ibrox tomorrow afternoon with a 1pm kick-off and the last tie will be on Monday night when Falkirk face Ayr United.

The match between the Championship teams will kick off at 7.45pm and will be played to a conclusion with extra-time and penalty-kicks if required.

The semi-final ballot will be screened live on BBC Scotland at the end of the match while it will also be available to live stream online via the BBC iPlayer.

The ties will be played at the end of next month. One will take place on Saturday, April 29 with the second match the following day.

Both games will be played at Hampden.
