The VAR intervention on Sunday was precipitated by a player presenting as though his shoulder was dislocated. It was not and he made a complete recovery after the red card was issued. This is the second egregious intervention against our USA central defender since the turn of the year. What is it that they do not like about him? I assume it is nothing more serious than the colour of his shirt.
Scottish football is about to distort reality, just as it did in the weeks following Auston’s red card at Tynecastle. It might look random but it’s not.

No bona fide Celtic Supporter would dismiss the importance of our game in Germany tomorrow.
Stuttgart are a better team that our opponents on Sunday, and if, and is an if, Celtic can take something positive from it, it could well prove a far better preparation for the SPL match, than gieing up the ghost before a ball has even been kicked. I know that is a very difficult concept for some on here to grasp. Impossible even.

I’m fed up with this constant grouching about being the poor unfortunates on the receiving end of questionable refereeing decisions. This mindset is debilitating.
Let us get on the front foot for Saturday’s game and play the referee, the SFA and Rangers.
Let’s be proactive and select Rangers players who “play the referee” and let’s be smarter in how we control the narrative as much as we can when opposing players are likely to play the referee for their benefit.
I highlight 2 Rangers players, Diomande and Raskin specifically for the need to “play them” and how we “play them”.
Although Diomande hasn’t had much game-time recently he and Raskin are combative, continually prattle to the ref / Celtic players and fall over when challenged in positions that give Tavernier an opportunity to deliver a set-piece ball into the Celtic penalty area.
We need to nominate some cool-headed players who’ll immediately challenge any time either player approaches the ref, and respectfully voice their view to the ref every time they collapse claiming a foul should a Celtic player have the imputance to dispossess them.
We need to be smarter about how we approach games in this end of season, cut throat atmosphere.

I wasn’t suggesting we target them to be dismissed although that’s help our cause, and we need all the help we can garner.
No, I was suggesting we need to neutralise their theatrical protests/influencing by getting some of our players presenting a counterarguement.
The SFA have adopted the “Only The Captains” this season but, yet again, I’ve seen little evidence this has happened, and it’s yet another area in which McGregor can take the lead and other Celtic players, respectfully, adding their backing to their captain.

Like many, I have a real sense of foreboding about sunday for all manner of reasons that others have expounded on at length
A soft performance combined with the expected red cards / penalties in their favour and all those little ‘fouls’ that nudge them up the park, could see us soundly beaten
There is an alternative outcome though, one that turns everything on its head. We show character and a little bit of quality (we do have some, not a lot, but its there), and win or even draw. 7,500 celts is a hugely different prospect than 750. That is very important.
Play our best, toughest, streetwise and experienced players, abandon 4-3-3 and tighten everything up. Give them nothing.
11 games to go for us is an eternity, especially in a title race with no obviously dominant team.
In this outrageous and dismal season, there is still a domestic double to play for, unlikely, but possible.
The thought of MON sticking it to mcinness, newco, refs and assorted pundits is unimaginably delicious.

Thanks, unless you have cars in pictures it’s always really difficult to age photos as from the 1920s until the early 1960s what people wore was very similar, certainly ordinary people’s every day clothes didn’t really change much.
