Scottish football waiting for Celtic to fail

227

Celtic plan to discuss Auston Trusty’s red card on Sunday with the SFA after their appeal against the decision was rejected, but no illuminating information will be received.  We need to move on and focus all efforts on the important games ahead.  Nursing a grievance is no bad thing either.  The players and management feel they were denied an important win by match officials.  It will sharpen their appetite to get the job done.

The whole of Scottish football is waiting for Celtic to fail.  The best thing to happen to the game here in the 21st century has become too successful for them to stomach.  No one else is in our corner, we should expect nothing as a generation which has seen only Celtic success lets their guard down.

  1. Keep hearing about Nicholson’s intelligence and CV.

See if you recognise anyone here:

Despite having impressive CVs this is what causes failure:

    Overqualified/Boredom:

When highly skilled, experienced professionals take roles below their capability, they can become bored, disengaged, and underperform.

    Lack of Cultural Fit:

A stellar resume doesn’t guarantee a person will align with a new company’s values, communication style, or pace.

    Poor Emotional Intelligence:

Highly intelligent people sometimes lack the ability to read situations or build relationships, which can lead to failure in leadership.

    Overconfidence/Arrogance:

Previous success can create a false sense of security, causing them to underestimate the difficulty of a new role or ignore advice.

The “Peter Principle”:(Not oor Peter but maybe)

People are often promoted to their level of incompetence. A brilliant technical expert (great CV) may fail when promoted to a management position that requires different skills.

I would add lack of communication skills despite being the Great Debater.

  2. ” No one else is in our corner, we should expect nothing as a generation which has seen only Celtic success let’s their guard down.”

We could maybe have done with some help from the people who are employed to help the people who are employed to produce the success on the football park. Though, of course, January is a difficult window to negotiate. Well, in Scotland, eh. in Glasgow, eh. in the east end of Glasgow.

The question is, which side are our board on?

Up till now it looks as if they’re in the Celtic to fail corner.

  4. Tis indeed E.B 👍👍

Hope all good up your way.

    Roll on tomorrow night

Hope your still walking up north

Scottish football are waiting to see us fail.

I dunno about waiting. They are seeing it happen live.

Apparently Graham Speirs in his podcast claimed MON had told a pal of his that Tidsdale was the most incompetent person he had ever met in football. The guy that headed up our structure which Despot Desmond extolled the virtues of and trashed Brendan because he had the temerity to call it out. Well how has that turned out. Rodgers is being vindicated every day without having to say a word and the attackers should have egg all over them as our structure is now basically a 74 year old retiree.

    Utter shambles.

But it was all Brendan’s fault for getting annoyed.

  6. Let’s hope Beaton’s Tynecastle special has the same effect as it did in 2023.

We need to strengthen the squad. We need to back O’Neill. We need to remove incompetent people from key executive positions.

  7. A pleasant surprise to hear that there are others who wish failure for Celtic and not the Celtic fans who normally get the finger pointed at them on here.

However still not a word about the transfer shambles.

    Creepy crawlie CSC.

  8. A siege mentality makes sense if you’re united against a common perceived enemy. Otherwise you’re gubbed.

Unfortunately if you believe the guff on here the real enemy is already in the castle

We’re wiling ourselves to failure, at least what most sane people would see as failure

  9. Nothing new here,we have always been up against it despite what Desmond Jr says, bigger question is ,are we doing our best to get a team on the park which we desperately need? Answer- No,start looking inwards first.

  10. PeterLatchfordsBelly on

Yeah, we’ve sure let our guard down…

Meantime Graham Speirs apparently saying that MO’N has said Tisdale is the most incompetent person he’s ever encountered in football.

    However, that’s simply not believable.

Given he’s now worked with Michael Nicholson.

    Nothing new here

You say that then repeat what you’ve been saying every day for months

There is. Martin is trying to build a seige mentality. A basic tactic he used to great effect twenty years ago (remember him getting Lenny in a headlock in front of the fans at Ibrox).

    Youre undermining it

  12. It won’t stop Martin of course.

Hes a master at using everything to his advantage. But it will make his job more difficult.

    Help him.

  13. I wouldn’t be surprised if MoN said that about Tisdale. He knew from the get go that Nancy was a disaster in waiting.

Competent people can spot a spoofer from a distance away.

You’re an absolute fraud, you know that? A complete charlatan.

Imagine blaming Celtic fans for causing this mess.

    What a clown.

  15. The Blogger Formerly Known As GM on

Celtic40me – the best we can hope for is that it fosters a siege mentality within the club.

As a whole, however, I personally do not think Celtic will ever be the same again.

Undermining what? This Board is setting us up to fail, through incompetence and mismanagement, the dogs in the streets know we needed 4 or 5 first team starters on 1st January, 2 loans won’t cut it,and what happens now could be too little too late, and are hanging out a Celtic Legend to dry in the process

“Competent people can spot a spoofer from a distance away.”

Paul Tisdale’s “knowledge, talent and tremendous work ethic will be crucial” at Celtic, says manager Brendan Rodgers.

The former Exeter City boss has become the Glasgow club’s head of football operations.

Rodgers says he has “been well aware” of the work of the 51-year-old, who assisted Celtic during the summer transfer window.

“I have known Paul for some time,” Rodgers added. “I know that he will be a huge asset to Celtic… as we drive forward across a number of areas, always with the aim of delivering higher performance and more and more success.”

Rodgers says time spent with Tisdale over the summer showed an encouraging “compatibility”, and went into detail on how the pair will work together moving forwards.

“I spent a good period of time with him here and over the course of the summer I had long meetings,” Rodgers continued.

Lol. James Forrest appears. Here James, I was just thinking about you. The postman has just been and on one the letters read: ‘YOU could be entitled to compensation’.

Then this beauty popped in to my head. Probably up there as one of your finest:

JAMES FORREST on 28TH OCTOBER 2025 12:34 PM

“Well the host is having his moment of glory. Talk about fiddling whilst Rome burns.

The assertion that “he won’t sue” is yet another in a long line of reckless gambles endorsed by idiots who always think they’ll have the last word. I would not put Fergus’ famous “one thin dime” on their being right. That statement leaves us legally exposed to a tremendous degree. Because of course that’s an official club communication, not Desmond’s personal website.

Which means that the legal burden of proof falls on the club, not on the mustachioed Wizard of Oz.

I agree that there’s been an act of enormous harm to Celtic done here. It’s just not the one some people think”

Then he comes on here calling other people a fraud😂

Undermining Martins efforts to create a seige mentality. It’s obvious what he’s doing

It’s possible that the board are at fault for where we are and what youre doing now is also damaging.

Weve all got our parts to play

    Auldheid,

    Many thanks for the reply.

For clarity, I have no fears that we will breach FSR. Quite the opposite. My concern is that many millions of pounds will come out of our FSR-available cash, and be squirrelled away for a ‘Rainy Day’. The Rainy Day is already upon us. In fact, at this moment, Noah is battering nails into a half-built boat.

I don’t know for sure, but it looks like we are chasing loans and have little or no interest in paying a transfer fee. Yet, as you say, there is lots of headroom.

In my view, we CAN turn this around by bringing in decent players – if we can find them in the next 2 days. We have to remember, when we sign players, they are ‘assets’, in that in many cases, they can be sold during the life of their contract. We are quite good at the selling bit, so it helps that in selling a player, (once we have won this league) 70% of that goes into that year’s FSR.

All that being said, thanks for responding to my question.

I will post this, and then leave it to all the wee neds who use the blog argue with other wee neds.

    Thanks again,

    Weeron.
