Scott’s career planning

298

Don’t get me wrong, I’d be delighted to see a Scotland team full of Celtic players at the next Euros, but it’s not my priority and it’s not theirs either.

Scott Brown did the right thing retiring from international football. He did his part for his country during years of injury but if he is to extend his time as a Champions League player he had to manage his career carefully.

I understand that he came out of retirement for Gordon Strachan, but EBT McLeish…..  That’s a different question.

ffs, when you actually see the bias in black and white – naismith was only practising diving ffs.

The thing and madden was even if he missed KA knocking heads, it was clear he was still down

  3. Big Packy

They are fine thanks, had one at the vets today for her 8th of ten injections for Leishmans, a horrible and most often fatal condition, thankfully this one seems to be pulling through, they get a canine equilivent to Chemo, it’s getting funded through the shop that makes a few bob and the Go Fund Me page, if not it’s…..

The big fella that was shot is doing better, we bought him a harness to try and keep his leg as close to the shoulder joint as poss in the hope that they join sometime in the future, but am really not hopeful, such a shame as he is prob the best dog I have come across in manys a year.

They are hard work, but I love it if the truth be known.

Oh and feck the huns :-)

  4. Back to Basics - Glass Half Full on

Philbhoy – he threw the ball off the back of Griffith’s head.

Shortbread listeners, I have a cure.

Many years ago these guys (or similar actually) used to annoy me.

One day I discovered a round button on my radio. I turned it anticlockwise until it made a single fairly loud clicking sound.

    They’ve never annoyed me since.

    Hail hail

  5. BACK TO BASICS………………….

    Thanks!

I knew there was someting the little cnut had done!

  6. BACK TO BASICS,

Whether we listen to them or not, because they are employed by the BBC we have no option but to pay for them. We ought to be able to expect better and less particularly bias from the likes of McIntyre. The BBC do employ a couple who give proper analysis: Michael Stewart and Willie Miller. The rest toe the party line. Celtic bad and deid team wonderful.

  7. Broony.

It’s noticeable the thuggish treatment Broony is subjected to has been ramped up since motor mouth Levein made those outrageous comments .

He should’ve been carpeted for those remarks.

  8. Shay Logan has shown himself to be sleekit quite regularly in games against Celtic. How can anyone take his word over Tonev- does anyone actually believe Logans version of events that day?

  9. While I have nothing but respect for Neil Lennon (especially for what he had to endure while with us) and while I can understand his exasperation at the cheating of the MIBs, his team have benefited from it while playing Celtic. Twice, in fact. His team were given a penalty in the Cup Semi final which never was and we were denied one against them at Celtic Park in the league when Efe pulled back Scott Sinclair.

  10. THE EXILED TIM in all honesty you are a champion,as you know my wife has a dog grooming salon ,she gets her customers because she cares, any lumps on the dogs any strange marks, she informs the owner, she must have saved umpteen dogs through her telling the owner to get the dog to the vet straight away, enough of this or we will be called dogs r us hh.

  11. Twists n Turns-first of all congrats on number 6,best thing in the world being a grampa.I think Broony has got short shift for a lot longer

  12. Philbhoy

Apart from hitting Griff with the ball, when he did that to Broony yesterday I immediately thought “he’s done that before against us” I’ve been wracking my brain since.

  13. TET

    Very true bud. Criminal

    Fairhill bhoy

He has indeed FB . I just feel the intensity is increasing.

The reaction all over Europe to his reaction to the assault has been admirable. Scottish media? Well…..

  14. They are having a poppy debate on talksport. Very very rarely I have that channel as well.

WGS is on , can you guess his views on politics in football?

  15. TWISTS N TURNS-ramped up?Now he has retired from international fitba, watch what ramped up really is:-)

  16. Twisty …..congrats …..hope mother and wee wan are doing braw….

    wee smiley green things …

    Braw

  17. BIG PACKY

Nae dig mate just a comment, plenty of people on here who had health and other serious life problems who didn’t feel the need to personally attack our manager like The Sun and The Record do…

Or to come on the blog everyday and call us mugs, plastic Irish, kiddy on rebels etc etc maybe that would would fly in some Celtic supporting companies but I doubt it would be many:))

Do you read his posts by the way???

Anyway the night is young and full of possibilities:))

    HH

  18. STARRY PLOUGH , no problem, yes i have read his posts ,as you say mugs plastic paddys no need for that but give him some leeway.hh.

  19. The Scott Brown video from yesterday has 3.1m views on Twitter. Everyone outside of Scotland seems to love it.

  20. Big Packy, careful how you go on here fella. If, the loudest blowhards canny roll ye over, and get you to fall into line and become, let’s say, something along the lines of a, brainwaished by the Celtic View type of toy, that they can chuck back into the toy box once the loudmouthed blowhards become bored with you, well, they tend to see you as a problem with a mind of its own. I like that ;

Ye see, Big Packy, when folk who’s need is to, have leverage over you, maybe because they feel insecure, or, maybe they’re control freaks ? Who knows ? But, when someone has spent their lives seeing Celtic as the saviors of the underdog, or, the representatives of the downtrodden, and then, this person is told that, to be seen as a Celtic fan, he can’t, question, dissist from kowtowing, or indeed, has to live a lie to curry favor with a sweetie wife cult, then, that someone, surely has a right to ask – “When did being a Celtic fan become a life long membership of the happy clapping pacifist league ?”

Ye see Packy, some of the folk on here can vouch for me as a Celtic fan, I wont name them, and compromise their positions.

But, see when folk like me have been consistent in their views of all things Celtic, especially the Old Firm PLC board, and their continual refusal to fight Celtic’s corner, and the #Fact# that, Celtic supporters of today, either dont get the #Fact# that, the PLC will sell you out every step of the way, or, they do get it but, don’t have the balls to take the necessay action to effect the changes that are needed, well, sadly, that leaves me to conclude that, maybe they deserve to see Celtic players being booted up and doon the pitch, or see the stolen £140 million hun tax dodge go unpunished, or see 20 odd stolen tainted trophies unstripped, because, and only because, these supporters have the power, and their consistent response is to turn the other cheeck. Who’s fault is that ? Is it they’re fault ? Or, is it the fault of the consistent bore, who consistently bores the blog, by consistently pointing out theses consistent flaws ?

Big Packy, most of the blog scrolls me, good, as I dont name names, lets just say that, a certain poster became emboldened when they heard of my current situation and, invited me to a gathering, for whatever reason, let’s just say, that to keep myself on the right side of the law, I desisted from answering.

    Anywye, Big Packy, don’t be worrying about me, I can more than cutely negotiate my way through the snakes and ladders games on here, or elsewhere ;

Frankie and Benny’s flags fly high and proud on the oul Jungle roof, take care fella HH

Floatin – Thoughts and Prayers fella.

    WEEBAWBABBITY….keep it lit amigo ;

    ……..oot.

  21. Unsurprisingly with Simon Jordan also on the panel the general consensus was, politics in football is bad , opens the door to lunatics. Pep Guardiola got it in the neck for his yellow ribbon with WGS suggesting he becomes a politician. The last caller tried to explain the rationale behind the yellow ribbon but was given very little time.

Only reason I kept it on is Danny Kelly is the presenter.

  22. Bloody freezing tonight. Why don’t we clean up at the Winter Olympics? Maybe if they changed the events we’d do better?

From my childhood , winter activities I excelled at:

Lighting a coal fire (in a living room that’s minus 15) when you’ve only got yesterdays daily record to make “stick papers”. ( critical to keep 1 double sheet of the paper to ‘ draw’ the fire to life. Extra point if you don’t let the paper go up in flames.

If yer lucky, you might have 1 firefighter ( loved the smell of fire lighters)

Sprinting for the school bus wearing a duffle coat, balaclava, and wellies, with the additional handicap of my socks gradually making their way doon the welly and round my heel, leaving my calf getting strangled by the thick elastic garter that should’ve been holding them up.

Firing snawbaws at a passing double decker bus and seeing how many passengers you could make shit themselves as the snawbaw belted the window they were sitting at.

Bollox to all this skiing, half pipe, curling etc. It’s why we don’t win.

  23. Twists, congrats on the new wean. I love my grandkids. Had the Manchester mob over last week—-mad as a box of frogs. Wee-est boy , Malachi, replied when his Nana asked him—“why are you so cute?——“God made me cute”.

Got extra Lego for that one. He’s four years of age.

  24. Kev J

“lets just say that, a certain poster became emboldened when they heard of my current situation and, invited me to a gathering, for whatever reason, let’s just say, that to keep myself on the right side of the law, I desisted from answering. ”

As far as I am aware you have been in good CQN company on at leat two occasions (the oBaF rally at George Square and one of BT’s events with Phil Mac at the Hall off Blantyre farm Road).

Now, I was not in your company for long on either occasion but I was not aware of anyone having bothered you or dug you up and you have certianly never reported anything like that happening to you.

So, why would you fear a friendly invite? I cannot see that you are much of a threat to anyone such that they would want to do you any harm. Of course you are free to want to keep your own privacy, such as it is but why suggest you are in any danger from any CQNr? genuine question.

  25. Hello again all you young rebels.

Lovely Oz morning and i’m still grinning like a cheshire cat after

that inspiring display from our Celtic.

Not one player let us down but special mention must go to big

Kris Ajer, after receiving a bad head injury showed a tremendous

will to win by throwing himself into another great tackle a couple

    of moments later.

Thats the Celtic i want to watch, might not be European standard

but if they’re playing for the jersey that will keep me happy.

And i have’nt even mentioned our captain yet, very inspiring mhan,

looking forward to our young lhads training tonight, i’m pretty sure

i’ll see the Broonie hulk, especially from some of our African bhoys

it could frighten the bejeezus oot o ye 8-))

    H.H Mick

P.S. Please Celtic, say something, anything, about those corrupt refs

    it’s beyond incompetence now.

Cute or what eh!! I know for sure you’ll have them spoiled.

Only a few months until retirement and two of my grand daughters have got me booked for picking them up from school! Problem is the schools are 20 miles apart.

I said to the 4 year old, based in Gartcosh, “I’ll pick you up some days, and take you home to your mum and dad”

“Oh no”she says , “I have to spend at least an hour with you”

No idea what we will be doing but for sure it’s gonna cost me:-)

I’m taking the oldest grandson ( 14) abroad in June. Water theme park resort.

Youngest granddaughter and newborn Luca to the canaries in October

Granddaughter number 2 is a week in Scarborough in July. She hates the heat!

Grandson 2 and granddaughter 1 to the canaries is the last trip for now ( with them in tow)

Wife and I trying to squeeze in a trip on the Orient express when we can . Might manage a couple days:-)

Kelso in April , ladies night Hamilton July, Cartmel for a week August are the ones I’m looking forward to most along with a trip to Hamilton with Eurochamps when we agree a suitable date. I’d love it if you could join us. BMCUW and PF Ayr will be on the invite list too.

Meantime I’ve got 3 European work trips to fulfil before I retire. Time closing in on me!!

Hope all is good Ray. Love to all your wonderful family .
