Scott’s career planning

298

Don’t get me wrong, I’d be delighted to see a Scotland team full of Celtic players at the next Euros, but it’s not my priority and it’s not theirs either.

Scott Brown did the right thing retiring from international football. He did his part for his country during years of injury but if he is to extend his time as a Champions League player he had to manage his career carefully.

I understand that he came out of retirement for Gordon Strachan, but EBT McLeish…..  That’s a different question.

Scotland apparently has the highest percentage of population attending football of anywhere in the world.

I commend AULDHEID for pushing this petition, and also the fella who raised it. I commend The Fab Four, who have fought remorselessly to keep this alive. And everyone else.

But the media aren’t interested, the legal authorities certainly aren’t. UEFA seem to have washed their hands of it.

And from all those Scottish football supporters-probably 200k+ attend regularly-that petition is struggling to be signed by a mere 1%.

I genuinely despair at this. Any other team, any other country, etc,it would make you weep.

So we should just give up.

    Aye,right…

  2. The next episode of the long running tragi-comedy “The Rangers Are Coming” is being filmed in Perth tonight, should anyone be interested.

The whole gamut of emotions from A (Abomination) to Z (Zombie-ism), all directed by that madcap fun-meister, Graeme “Murts” Murty.

Well, I was going to stay in but that promotion of the tragi-comedy has me looking for train times to Perth.

Aye,that’s the same KEVJ that accused me last night of the heinous crime of inviting him to join us all on a hootenanny.

Play the victim card,Kev. Just for a change.

  12. Bada, I’ve heard they are now re-directing flights to the newly named Glasgow Stansted…………..

  13. Just signed the petition.

One point. It’s a petition hoping to reach out to the general football support rather than just the Celtic demographic? So why direct it towards PL and Celtic only rather than all Bawbag CEO’s/chairmonkeys?

Same as whoever took over from Sir Alex Ferguson,a poisoned chalice.

In SAF case,he left a winning team, but dead on its feet. Wi Wenger,it’s a losing team with no direction and far too many frequent failures.

I wouldn’t touch it with a barge pole, but for £200k a week,I might be tempted. I certainly wouldn’t be less successful than the poor prune that takes it on.

  17. Just got this following email to John Fleming

    Dear Bournesouprecipe

Referees are giving clear guidance as per the Laws of the Game regarding players receiving injuries: Law 5 – Injuries

    • allows play to continue until the ball is out of play if a player is only slightly injured

    • stops play if a player is seriously injured and ensures that the player is removed from the field of play. An injured player may not be treated on the field of play and may only re-enter after play has restarted; if the ball is in play, re-entry must be from the touchline but if the ball is out of play, it may be from any boundary line. Exceptions to the requirement to leave the field of play are only when:

    • a goalkeeper is injured

    • a goalkeeper and an outfield player have collided and need attention

    • players from the same team have collided and need attention

    • a severe injury has occurred

    • a player is injured as the result of a physical offence for which the opponent is cautioned or sent off (e.g. reckless or serious foul challenge), if the assessment/treatment is completed quickly

    • ensures that any player bleeding leaves the field of play. The player may only re-enter on receiving a signal from the referee, who must be satisfied that the bleeding has stopped and there is no blood on the equipment •

if the referee has authorised the doctors and /or stretcher bearers to enter the field of play, the player must leave on a stretcher or on foot. A player who does not comply, must be cautioned for unsporting behaviour •

if the referee has decided to caution or send off a player who is injured and has to leave the field of play for treatment, the card must be shown before the player leaves

Based on above I would expect a match to be stopped if the match official suspects the injury is serious with particular emphasis on any head injury.

Hope this answers your query Brendan.

  18. Hot Smoked. I read somewhere that Lustig is suspended for tomorrow night’s game,

Some on here will say good but Lustig has served us well, going through a sticky patch but at 31 he is not gone yet.

Hang in Mikel, once Dedryck is back ghuys will have a new escaped goat to concentrate on.
