Scout and development systems work

121

I watched Hibs hustle Hearts off their game yesterday.  15 games unbeaten, they are third in the table and after beating Celtic and Hearts in consecutive weekends, have a confidence unknown in Leith in recent decades.

Their Scottish Cup visit to Celtic Park on Sunday matches the best team in the country against the form side; it will be a genuine test.  Their unbeaten run started after their last visit to Celtic Park, which ended in a bizarre 3-0 for the champions.  Hibs shredded the Celtic defence that day but, lacking in confidence in front of goal, they ‘Hibs it’ every time.

Beat Celtic, and they become favourites for the Cup.  This is a substantial motivation Celtic would be wise to match.

Saturday’s three goal win at St Mirren also fell into the bizarre category.  St Mirren passed up numerous good chances during the game, scored twice and were in the hunt until a very late collapse flattered Celtic.

Substitutions lifted Celtic, although not through Jota, as expected.  The arrival of Luke McCowan and Yang lifted everyone, most notably Reo Hatate, who pivoted from disappointing to dominant.  Yang continues to prove what you and I know.  Scout well, provide a clear development path, and the system works.

BR was clear he welcomed the fact that away fans will attend the derbies.

Many on here don’t like it. That is fine. Plenty Celtic fans do like it also.

Personally I like it for atmosphere and for the fact I have enjoyed loads of great wins and results and even one defeat at Ibrox.

    I hope to enjoy more.

These games have ranged from twice being with 700 in the corner to being with over 25,000 Celtic fans back when the ground was almost split. I have watched from Broomloan front and rear, Govan front and rear, Copeland Rd front, Main Stand all 3 levels and even the directors box. Enjoyed every one of about 24 or so positive results I witnessed. Hated about 40 other visits.

Aside from Celtic v Rangers games I have loved seeing them lose to Hibs Aberdeen Man U Lyon Besiktas and many many more. From the 80s to the 00s I have enjoyed these occasions also.

It’s a real joy for me to see their entitled supremacist vitriol turned into complete and utter misery as we dare to upset their sense of order.

  2. Agree TurkeyBhoy.

Bring on Adam and Yang after an hour or so if circumstances allow for it or it is needed. Yang has not played particularly well in any game he has started though he has shone several times now as an impact sub.

I would also be tempted to leave a tired/injured Calmac on the bench and play Engels, Reo and Luke but probably more chance of a heatwave in Glasgow than that happening.

  3. Very recently Celtic have twice scored five times against decent opposition. In fact, the result against St Mirren wasn’t a given until late in the game. But to say that Celtic didn’t really deserve such convincing visctories ignores the obvious fact that all ten Celtic goals were entirely legitimate. Celtic’s hectic schedule since January – often three games in eight days – may have taken its toll on performance but, thankfully, not on results.

  4. I hope we play our best options as I feel we may have a game on our hands . If The Celtic we know turns up I am confident of victory ,but we have an Achilles heel in central defence . We did give them a two goal lead a couple of weeks ago and not for a cheating official would have pulled it back . And if wee Rio turns it on Celtic will turn it on .

  7. At the risk of being labelled a heretic, I probably prefer when we play Jota or Kühn.

Playing both seems fairly decadent and may be better suited to more straightforward games.

Perhaps the likes of Queens Park, at home in the cup!

    A personal opinion.

The hun should not be permitted to enter Celtic Park at any time. They are a dangerous, violent, criminal underclass. Their subhuman “followers” will wreak havoc from Parkhead Cross to Glasgow Cross. I hope I live long enough to see this version of their scum football club dead and cremated.

    Worn oot boreathons. Tra-la-la-la-la.

“Sunshine on Leith” and “YNWA” are now needing binned.

If fans canny be bothered holding up their scarves anymore for these 2 optically iconic and sacred anthems then maybe its time to confine them to the history books?

Lawwell has already done that at Parkhead.

When “YNWA” comes on…crafty Lawwell puts the big lights off, and puts on the £4 million disko lights, which were more important than signing John McGinn who refused to play the Lawwell brow beating, yawningly long, player recruitment process to come to Celtic in the One horse SPL. “NAW!!!” said McGinn. Good for him.

Put the songs in the bin along with Integrity, Principles, Authenticity, Class, Selflessness, Celticness, Uppityness, unmuggableness, non soul selling, non easily played by big fatter, and fatter, and hideously, and even more hideously, sleekitly going along, Shhhhh, with the cover up of £49 Rangers EBT crime wave of 20+ stolen trophies, and probably hunners of £millions of HMRC theft, but Shhhh it didny happen!!!

60,000 strong Celtic season ticket holders came out of the shower straight after Bobby Ewing – AND – Nothing happened…not a single trophy was stripped. lol just lol

Timdom sits watching on, year in, year out, as their ticketless comrades missing out on cup final, after cup final, and 20 TWENTY packed to the rafters, DOUBLE DECKER buses full of the PLC and their entire families from each PLC family, are given ungettable prestige business end of the season tickets. EVERY YEAR! lol just lol

Probably all free tickets as well, or paid for by the now always sleeping Timmies, that the PLC get, and free luxury buses, and buses, and buses, and buses, as Timmy tries saying the Rosary backwards in Gaelic as nothing else seems to work and they try for commoner tickets fae the local ghettos, and backstreet flea markets, black markets, underworld cafes, etc, but the phone-line is always on hold, Shhhhhh, year in, year out.

    Hmmm.

Looks to me that Thatchers all seating scam waged against working class football fans in the not too well off sectors of society since 1989, and which has kicked in at Parkhead since 1994, has removed, probably forever, any semblance of a Celtic soul capable of flicking on a light switch and s-e-e-e-e-i-n-g beyond their own noses!

Eye – The unassailable domestic trophy haul with practically zero opposition since 2012 with the arrival of the One horse league is always going to be welcomed.

And now we’re patting ourselves on the back for doing not too badly against teams, Bayern Munich, Aston Villa, and an on the way down Dortmund side, whom our manager is still not capable at that level after 8 years in and out of Celtic, which suggests a club just going through the motions, and just there for the money, then they try to flog t-shirts to you for £90??? lol just lol

A manager who failed to topple any “big” teams so called, who are full of players who would be in the reserve teams, if they were lucky, of the class of UEFA Cup teams opponents that MON more than measured up against, before UEFA Cup was revamped and made much easier the very next season after MON had to sadly depart us.

But this seasons CL opponents were nowhere near the standard of players that MON and his fine old players defeated on our road to Seville in 2003, a feat which probably will not be repeated in any of our lifetimes?!

Unless its by the supposedly died Huns who almost wiped Celtic’s Seville memories out, but for a missed penalty, can you imagine if he’d scored the penalty? – in the covid season. lol just lol

All we would here from Celtic cyberspace is….

“BUT HE WASN’T WEARING A MASK WHEN HE SCORED. LIKE US GOOD TIMS WHO OBSERVED EVERY RULE THAT THE LOVELY NICOLA PUT IN FRONT OF US! IT’S JUST NOT FAIR! HE NEEDS TO RETAKE THE PENALTY WHEN WE COME OUT OF LOCKDOWN!!!”

    Or some other suckulent pash!

At least the Huns weren’t dumb enough to fall for the media mind virus plandemic bs. They even ‘dipped’ the covid expenses which Celtic were too nice and precious to take from. lol just lol.

Point is, MON savvy alone would have beaten Dortmund, Aston Villa, and Bayern Munich this season.

For example – one long break away ball to Maeda would have beaten Bayern in Munich imho.

Then the same again against Leverkusen.

Its as though Brendan has a bet on with Paddy Power to get through each game without playing a single ball over the top?!

If so – that is why Kyogo became a diminished figure under Brendan imho?!

Not utilising the unplayable pace of Maeda and Kyogo, or the height advantage of big tall Idah, is like buying a Roadrunner and keeping it in a cage….not too long and the Roadrunner would look pissed as well.

And Idah will not get his career permanently off the ground at Celtic, standing in the box waiting for a threaded ball to come through to him, and wingers who get to the bye line then turn back the way to score an Instagram goal against some pub team who’s defenders are walking backwards. lol just lol

£49 will stamped on every traitors tomb stone. You sucked up to a PLC who gave you Brendan-1 through the front door AND the same club tickets through the back door.

Result = Tims got played easily by the rich and wealthy Irish Raj and his puppets, and the £49 tickets will be haunting you in your sleep.

Now sleekit McCoisty is talking about Rafa Benitez as manager. lol just lol

If Vanbronkhurst can get the covid year Huns to a European final in Seville , can you imagine what wily Benitez could conjure up? lol just lol

    Blessed be the Peacemakers.

Huns takeover seems to be going ahead. Well that’s them won the close season cup again before a baw is kicked.

  16. HHBHOY,

I was sad to see Kyogo go but I now understand why the Japanese manager picks Maeda at centre forward before Kyogo. Imo, Maeda has improved 1,000 per cent since he moved there.

    …………….

I don’t think the facade plasters were much more than a general simple design maybe CFC ?. Archibald Leitch the architect for the Celtic facade that disappeared, did football mainstands all over Britain. He did a more ‘grandiose’ Red brick front building facade at another Glasgow club, it’s still there where Sevco play.

Hopefully, Adam will catch the development bug.

Adam maybe having a dip in form at present but he stiil has 13 goals to his credit including 4 in Champions league level top with Daizen, reasonable considering he hasn’t started on many occasions. He could still go near the 20 mark. He has made a good start to his career at Celtic and will continue to work hard to improve.
