Scout and development systems work

121

I watched Hibs hustle Hearts off their game yesterday.  15 games unbeaten, they are third in the table and after beating Celtic and Hearts in consecutive weekends, have a confidence unknown in Leith in recent decades.

Their Scottish Cup visit to Celtic Park on Sunday matches the best team in the country against the form side; it will be a genuine test.  Their unbeaten run started after their last visit to Celtic Park, which ended in a bizarre 3-0 for the champions.  Hibs shredded the Celtic defence that day but, lacking in confidence in front of goal, they ‘Hibs it’ every time.

Beat Celtic, and they become favourites for the Cup.  This is a substantial motivation Celtic would be wise to match.

Saturday’s three goal win at St Mirren also fell into the bizarre category.  St Mirren passed up numerous good chances during the game, scored twice and were in the hunt until a very late collapse flattered Celtic.

Substitutions lifted Celtic, although not through Jota, as expected.  The arrival of Luke McCowan and Yang lifted everyone, most notably Reo Hatate, who pivoted from disappointing to dominant.  Yang continues to prove what you and I know.  Scout well, provide a clear development path, and the system works.

  1. The title was done and dusted a few weeks ago and now with a 16 point lead it’s full steam ahead for yet another treble. All good and well but unfortunately not looking good for the standard of challenge in the SPL.

particularly after the contests and challenges in Europe

When you see Shamrock Rovers a LOI club having a 16 match run in Europe Conference lge you wonder why some of the clubs in Scotland apart from the big two are not doing better.

Good to see Yang’s improvement and like many of Celtic’s current squad has shipped much criticsm in his time at Celtic. Hope he continues to benefit from Brendan’s faith in his ability.

  2. Every hun we let into Parkhead deprives a Celtic supporter.

Depriving Celtic supporters to reward and welcome bigotry and sectarianism.

Nobody can seriously argue tjat we have our priorities mixed up.

The sevco takeover may or may not happen. Not so sure the americans will be as willing to lose money as the real rangers men who wanna exit cause they no longer have the apitite or money to spend on the loss making machine sevco. We will find out soon enough. I would guess the americans will look to up revenue, they have to given ffp/ regulations. I don’t think thee is a quick fix.

Celtic on the other hand, are in a great position on and off the pitch. We have seen significant investment in barrowfield and lennoxtown so our training centres are in good shape for the next 20 years.

We have a team full of assets, a mountain of money in the bank and owners who could easily make a share issue happen to undertake the infustracture work needed at our home ground i.e. upgrade the main stand, size of stadium, add hotel, cafe, restuarants, museum and fanzone etc. to lift our revenue substantially beyond the would be challengers wildest dreams.

Regardless of what happens over the road our guys should be pushing for the above.

Hibs, hearts and aberdeen are decent size clubs and should be doing better in european football. No reason they cannot when younlook at other clubs with significantly less resources.

  5. I maybe did 500 real estate agreements in principle. Just a way of getting a framework in place to allow for due diligence and market norms to be established.

Easily a few hundred didnt happen, or were gazumped or indeed the end agreement was for different to what was set our initially.

At the very least both parties should be informing their own shareholders and investors as to their intentions.

I am falling into the its just to sell season books camp.

    ——————————-

    Agreement in principle

An “Agreement in Principle” clause signifies a preliminary agreement between parties on the fundamental terms and conditions of a future contract, indicating mutual understanding but not yet legally binding. This clause outlines the basic framework and intentions, pending further detailed negotiations and formalization.

  6. followed by a letter of intent

A letter of intent (LOI or LoI, or Letter of Intent) is a document outlining the understanding between two or more parties which they intend to formalize in a legally binding agreement. The concept is similar to a heads of agreement, term sheet or memorandum of understanding. Merger and acquisition agreements,[1] joint venture agreements, real property lease agreements and several other categories of agreements often make use of a letter of intent.

Caught a bit of Raman Bawbag ‘s report tonight and he said “Dave King has agreed to sell his stake in Sevco,” no mention of any of the other big shareholders .

    He didn’t say Sevco either.

Maybe not a takeover after all?

Do I smell brown stuff because the season ticket renewals are in the post?

  10. The Darnel will be sold .

The present major share holders are unwilling to plough ,the further multi millions that are required to keep them afloat, into the club .

    They want out .

A deal will be done .

It’s only a matter of time ,and bartering of share price .

The £150m ( circa) that is required to gain control ,is chump change to the 49rs owners.

It’s small beer to them .

You have very willing sellers and motivated buyers .

My money is on it happening .

It is a small risk to these American investors .

Don’t think you like anything about celtic, always moaning and groaning about something and nothing.

    …………..

There was a guy who used to post on here every day, and folk like SB1967 used to call the moaning guy unhelpful stuff as well.

But, the poster who moaned about almost everything, every day, well one day he posted something that seemed to catch the PLC’s attention when he typed another moaning post. stating that:

[ “Parhead is like a library without the Jungle. We need the Jungle, or a version of the Jungle inside a Parkhead which is now a 60,000 all seated family section, or boring library. Please wake up Celtic PLC!” ]

Well, within a month, the squeaky wheel [moaning guy ] got some PLC oil.

Within a month, Celtic PLC announced that they had submitted an application for to build a standing area within the stadium. This amount of seats was always viewed as a first step toward reintroducing standing areas throughout the stadium.

As a matter of interest WTF has a compliant suckup like you EVER achieved for your fellow Tims?

Btw, I think that the moaning guys name was, KEVJUNGLE.

So well done Kev for being always a moaner, never a sucker.

  12. There should be NO HUNS inside parkhead until they allow us in 1st.

Maybe the board should send a vote to every email or season ticket holder. For a proposal for approval like other boards have to get.

    Dv :)

  13. Stephbhoy…………agree Hearts, Hibs and Aberdeen are big clubs and should be doing a lot better in Europe to help the reputation of the SPFL

  14. Bada according to a to z

Aberdeen – Regent Bridge Bar 30 Regent Quay. Bishop Crosas CSC

Aberdeen – The Gilcomston Bar, Gilcomston Steps. Grampian Emerald CSC

  15. Celtic can continue to develop players whether they are buying prospects or even better coming from our academy. We can sign the best young players in Scotland and Ireland but we currently seem to bring them through into the first team/

Yang is being developed but it doesn’t seem that academy players have a place in the 1st team squad. Maybe we should look at the coaching of the academy, Does Brendan get involved with Academy? Who is Chris McCarts boss?

  16. Bada,

As Bognorbhoy said The Gilcomston Bar were the Grampian Emerald meet. Been in a few times, usually after a game up there to try and drag our guys out to head home 😁

  17. I may have mentioned I will be at Sevco game, hopefully with my Loovul lover.

Bourbon on me if you are there at the corner that morn.

    Respectfully TT …

… where did the £150m figure come from?

    In fact, don’t tell me.

    I’ll tell you.

It was put out there as a hook.

And, by jiminy, it has hooked.

    Do the math.

500 million shares at £150m is 30p per share.

What is it with these yanks?

    Skinflints. Misers. Cheapskates.

Why not go the whole hog and swoop at £350m?

    70p per share sounds fair.

Dave will get his money out.

And, Charles Green will be cursing for pitching the IPO so cheap.

  19. Good morning Celts.

    NO HUNS AT PARKHEAD.

I hope we have a down-payment for damage ahead of game on 16 March.

You’re probably right that they’ll be sold as they are desperate, however these are not a benevolent society- they’ll pay only the sum that they believe will give them a suitable return. That’s not over the odds – it’s not as if they’re in competition with anyone.

“they’ll pay only the sum that they believe will give them a suitable return. That’s not over the odds – it’s not as if they’re in competition with anyone”

Agree with that Gene and then some.

(Although the intervention of the eye candy influencer yesterday caught my eye)

    Cui Bono? and all that.

(Certainly not the proposed investor. Hmm)

As for the shares – as SS says, they ain’t worth much.

    The thresholds in the public domain – 70p / 30p / 27.5p / 20p – do not reflect true value.

My guess – and it is a guess, don’t know, don’t care

… the “big” share owners who were all astute enough to get floating charges over fixed assets … would be paid an amount to release those charges commensurate with their total investment i.e. they’ll get a whack.

With the 505 million shares being scooped up at pennies a share.

i.e. the rest of the mugs who invested will get fleeced (but would be too busy rejoicing a new regime to notice)

    Idiots.

B78-BR was clear he welcomed the fact that away fans will attend the derbies.

AT- He would not have said a word without the nod of those upstairs,ie our board- those that made the decision to let the hun back into our ground when thce overwhelming majority of Celtic fans would rather let the fans of ‘a great club’ with great traditions’ remain excluded from Celtic Park

B78-Many on here don’t like it. That is fine. Plenty Celtic fans do like it also.

AT- Just as you incorrectly isolate BR from the Board, you incorrectly advise that it is only on here that there is no place for the hun,ie the majority want them back. They do not,but ignorance and hate are rife in our higher echelons who as always remain untouched by the violence and bigotry vomited.in short hate sells, its good from profit.

B78-Personally I like it for atmosphere and for the fact I have enjoyed loads of great wins and results and even one defeat at Ibrox.

    I hope to enjoy more.

AT-That atmosphere should be nowhere near football, the loathing and hatred is a vent for part time bigots on both sides.i too have enjoyed Celtic victories and defeats in attending games at £1 park and CelticPark.i have enjoyed them more with no huns, enjoyed the aftermath of safely moving away from the grounds

B78-These games have ranged from twice being with 700 in the corner to being with over 25,000 Celtic fans back when the ground was almost split. I have watched from Broomloan front and rear, Govan front and rear, Copeland Rd front, Main Stand all 3 levels and even the directors box. Enjoyed every one of about 24 or so positive results I witnessed. Hated about 40 other visits.

AT-when you were one of 700,where you not just along from someone skelped by a bottle and needing hospitalized?i too have been to matches of varying %,hate sells, none compare with an all green Celtic park or a victory in an all bloo £1park

Hate sells, the race to thebottom enjoyed by both sets of fans

B78-Aside from Celtic v Rangers games I have loved seeing them lose to Hibs Aberdeen Man U Lyon Besiktas and many many more. From the 80s to the 00s I have enjoyed these occasions also.

AT- Glad you enjoyed, not my bag regardless of sponsorship.i would not pay a penny to see them preferring Celtic or the reserves

B78-It’s a real joy for me to see their entitled supremacist vitriol turned into complete and utter misery as we dare to upset their sense of order.

AT- For the above to happen you do not need the hun to be in Celtic Park,we just need to beat them ,the our craven media can continue to run lies as truth on all their platforms such as reasons given as to why allocations were cut in the first place.

Make no mistake B78,this is a buckle by our heirarchy and tickets restored once the full Broomloan was given back

    Thats what Celtic fans want

Oh an thats what the polis want as its easier for them.

    No huns at Celtic Park

    HH

  25. Gene 9.12

    I agree .

But the price they is not that important to us .

They have several billions in equity .

It’s what they invest after they have gained control .

Make no bones about it .

This is a game changer .

They only have to beat Celtic and gain access to the CL to turn things around .

  26. I have enjoyed Parkhead without the huns. The atmosphere of the capacity crowds without the need for segregation has been electric.

We have enjoyed it sooo much that we have all stayed to the final whistle defying the horrendous traffic situation.

Plain and simple , we are taking tickets off decent Celtic supporters and handing them to the worst of the worst.

From a Celtic perspective, how is that morally correct ?

Enhancing the match day experience, the’re having a Giraffe. The perspection is our custodians dont give a monkeys f@ ck.
