Negotiations for Albian Ajeti have gone on for weeks but as you and I have said often enough, it is important to get your first choice. Too often we end up with a player from well down the list, who did not do enough to overwhelmingly convince anyone. That is not the case with Ablian.
The player was scouted for a move last year before his ill-fated time in London. He is known to the manager, who will have sounded out Mohamed Elyounoussi for an assurance on things that are not evident from the stands.
Having played over 170 games, he is also more experienced than many we have signed over the last decade. This is why we missed out on him a year ago, he was caught on the EPL radars and West Ham made what was for them a cheap acquisition.
These factors make Albian’s prospect of succeeding at Celtic higher than most recruits. It is a pity he will not have some game time this weekend; let’s hope he is fit for this month’s challenges.

Ziggydoc1, 1979 well done, that was good research indeed.
Perhaps, you should help our Club, in trying to bring in
good acquisitions, in the playing side of things?
We’ve certainly wasted a shit load of money over the years buying players that aren’t good enough and don’t even feature. I know it’s different times to years ago, with recruitment from around the world, but I wouldn’t be spending big money without seeing the player for myself. To use the quote from Peter Lawwell about kissing frogs, I think we’ve kissed far too many. Pain in the arse, with no football to look forward to tomorrow. Roll on Tuesday. I thought Ajeti really came across well in his interview and seemed a decent character.
I agree ZiggyDoc1, we have waisted too much money, on penny pinching transfer deallings.
What is the point in signing two duds for five million, when one should spend five million
on bringing in a half decent player. Nah two for the price of one, in the transfer market does
not work, simple as that. Yeah, & I hope AJ hits the ground running, he will certainly get more
chances @ our Club, to hit the target/goal, more often than he did @ West Ham.
Cause West Ham’s main style of play is to hit teams on the break.
Anyway, good luck to our new Bhoy.
Ajeti will not be first choice with Edouard still here. He will likely be 1st change. Griffiths will not be trusted and may go on loan at the window end.
I have been hearing that O’Connor wants a try at Centre half and doesn’t want to go on loan again. We do need another CH. Elhamed has injury issues and Biton is a sticking plaster.
I think LB could be ear marked for Gutman and Hickey
No complaints so far re our two signings. Imagine if the huns had spent £10M plus on two players…press treat our signings as the norm but we are streets ahead in terms of the cash we have spent so far. Hopefully a few more in soon. Hail Hail.
St Stivs – that Kilmarnock equaliser – where the heck was our Centre Half – I hope he never darkened our door again 😀
an open mind, & reading between the lines, & taking everything into account.
Some so called posters on here, are asking for Leigh Griffiths head on a plate.
In my opinion, we should not off load LG asap, LG knows the score, about all
this scaremongering that is going around @ present, & what is expected from
him. He will not make any mistakes in future, & anyway he still knows where
the target is, & can still score goals, which is an asset. Now lets look @ the
present current afairs. Global Warning, all those con merchants who say aye
it’s this & that, which is causing all the planet Earth’s, global warning, lets spend
more noney to solve the problem, do not mention that their is a Volcano in
the Artic, which spits out Lava every now & then, & also melts ice. That is a
fact, & has been going on for years. For example, the Titanic hit an iceberg,
Even before their was untold amount of Cars & Trucks on the Roads, &
untold amount of Airoplanes in the Skies, or Rockets going into Space.
So how did those big icebergs get loose & floated off near America?
Answer:-A Volcano In The Artic. So do not believe everything, that one is
being lead to believe, because it’s all BS & Lies.
Covid19, was a man made virus, which was also an airborn as well.
It will not kill everyone, only people who have a very weak immune
system. It past over here from the end of March, until the middle of
April 2020. As for it coming back again in the near future? Nah, that
problem is now came to pass. Although, if you are easly mislead by
the gobshite media, who are totally manipulated, & predict all doom &
gloom merchants, so that everyone goes out & spends more money,
so that the rich get richer, & everyone else tends to suffer, then so
be it. Don’t be so nieve everyone, things are not as bad as some
individuals want you to believe, & everything will work out fine in
the end. As the Bob Marley song says, Every Little Thing Is Going
To Be Alright. (Three Little Birds Song) Yeah.
Yeah, Use 3-5-2 & Ditch 4-2-3-1, which does not produce the positive outcome in
matches, & the results we are looking for, especially in this very important Season.
Tighten up @ the back, (more solid defenders) & every little thing will work out fine.

No problem ZiggyDoc1, yeah what is the story of those two past signings from
the States, they have become a ‘Mystery Signings’
After reading the article in the Celtic Star regarding the proposal to extend Irish passport entitlement to great grand parents I decided to do some research on the Scotland’s People website. I didn’t really know my grandparents due to two being dead before I was born and my paternal grandfather and maternal grandmother dying when I was young but I knew all four had been born in Scotland. I knew my dad’s grandfather was Irish but my research has shown that 5 of my 8 great grandparents were born in Ireland. They say when you do this you should be prepared for shocks/surprises and they are not wrong.
In the 1901 Census my maternal great grandparents are registered in Stobo, Peeblesshire, with their son John (9) and daughter Sarah (7) – my grandfather and great aunt, neither of whom I knew. Now the surprise comes from the fact that they were in Stobo but the shock comes from the entry next to their names – “Tramp family sheltered in shed overnight.”
I’ve decided that I would like to think there is a New Testament parallel here involving a census and no room at the inn but of course nothing could be further from the truth.
Gutman and Manny Perez? Can we not get work permits?
never mind work permits are we paying these guys a wage , if yes either get them over here or get rid.
PÓGMATHONYAHUN AKA LAIRD OF THE SMILES on 14TH AUGUST 2020 4:02 PM
I dabble in and out of the Scotlands People site, it is quite excellent what is there. If you get stuck come ask.
was doon ersline front there for a wee walk when the waverly came up, looks excellent all refurbed.
PÓGMATHONYAHUN AKA LAIRD OF THE SMILES on 14TH AUGUST 2020 4:02 PM
Phew…. thank goodness for that, I thought you were going to own up to being descended from Royalty.
G’day Celts and happy Fri
I’m happy with the two 1st team signings to date and like everyone else I’m hoping for another at CH at least.
I think if we go 3-5-2, then we need three 1st team CH’s, + 2 able to come in for injuries or simple rotation during our 2 or 3 games a week spell.
We need a CH and preferably before we’re back in action playing catch up. This signing will be key imo. The big Doire Celt would 100% do it for me.
Let’s go, on to the ten and HH
SAINT STIVS on 14TH AUGUST 2020 4:13 PM,
Will do. The most surprising thing was finding out that my maternal “Tramp” great grandparents were both born in Ireland. Her maiden name and that of her grandfather are well known in Scotland but her granny was a Waters.
I was also pleased to discover that there was a Davitt on my paternal granny’s side of the family.

Yeah, according to the Locals who knows all about the Waverly, said it was not cheap in getting said
Ship refurbished, in other words expensive.
SPFL Disciplinary Proceedings – Aberdeen FC and Celtic FC
Following investigation, the SPFL has opened separate disciplinary proceedings against each of Aberdeen FC and Celtic FC for alleged breaches of the SPFL’s Covid-19 – Requirements and Testing Regulation.
There will be no further comment pending the outcome of these disciplinary proceedings.
To AKBW 1888
I commend you for your views on Leigh Griffiths, how I wish you had been my boss when I was in my twenties.
I can’t agree with you for the explicit reason I posted earlier. Our title challenge, i.e. the opportunity to play games, is hanging on a thread of a political decision designed solely to deflect attention away from Swinney’s SQA ‘dog’s breakfast’. We simply can’t trust Griffiths, I doubt anyone can. He has to be in a place where he can do us no damage.
Let me also add a further little snippet of political information, which is not unconnected.
As Covid cases start to rise again in Scotland, despite the SNP strategy of ‘test at a low capacity to get low confirmed cases’ , Sturgeon is now blatantly lying by saying that there have been no Covid-related deaths for since 16 July.
The National Register for Scotland list 39 deaths in the last five weeks. Political spin was used for Nike, and for 1000plus hospital to care homes deaths – she is now at it again.
Scotland’s total death toll is 4200+ – our population is 8% of the UK, so our proportion of total UK deaths should be c3200. The difference is of course accounted for by SNP’s eviction policy – shipping the old & frail from hospitals to ‘petri-dish’ care homes
Scotland is the worst performing deaths per million place in the UK, & second worst behind Belgium in Europe.. and yes Nicola, people are still dying in Scotland.
This the day after the Greens save Swinney’s neck, and on the day we learn a friendly SNP supporting academic is appointed to save his a*** by chairing the enquiry.
Wake up & smell, SNP supporting Celtic fans. the pong is staggering.
To be clear on my above post, the two additional CH’s are already at the club and on the wages, so can be utilised if necessary.

The Huns aren’t getting Yellow cards this season…..
On ,or off , the field.
The Onlooker
JHB, Scotland will never get Independence, how come? Because there are too many voters
living in Scotland, who do not want to break up the Union, & that is a fact.
Yeah JHB, wake up & smell the reality, dude.
Nicola Fandabidozy, are you have a laugh.
& If you are quite intent & nieve to believe all the BS Scaremongering going on by the
Gobshite Media, then that is your choise, not mine.
As for Leigh Griffiths, we have already made a big misatake this Season, by letting
Johnny Hayes Go. Lets not compound matters.
So therefore, I do not agree with your points of view.
Fandabydozy JHB.
So,going out for a drink,is now a punishable offense, according to the SFA.Contacting Covid,is now a punishable offence.Going out for a drink, and not catching Covid,is a punishable offence. For all the hullabaloo that went on,this is basically all that happened.Bringing the game into disrepute,my ass.Their club, perfectly entitled to take action,if they broke Club rules, but thats it.
No mention of the Huns playing without test results.Potentially the most damaging threat to football.
This should be good.
Steven Fletcher signs for Stoke.
Fellow Tims.
I have asked the SFA / SPFL when they will add Hibs, Motherwell and Rangers to the disciplinary proceedings for Covid 19 breaches earlier in the summer. I suggest you all do the same. Let’s not let them away with selective bias
I will be interested to find out where and when Celtic actually breached the Covid 19 guidelines.
Every employer has employees off for a few days so are they liable for the behaviour of their employees during their own time? If an employee receives a Police Fine for isolation or social distancing breaches can the employer expect a sanction also ? Or is it just sports / football / Celtic etc ?
JHB,Yeah Covid19, is going to wipe out the World Population.
Yet, a lot of qualified people out there are saying it will not.
So who do yo believe? Yeah I will go with the fact that Covid19
World wide, will kill less people than SARS & Influenza.
& By the way, a Doctor is instructed/told to put down/type,
whatever the reason is, or how certain individuals past on.
Any retro action following new football rules opens up the need to retrospectively punish rangers, after Celtic and Aberdeen had players who flouted the rules, rangers FC decided to ignore them and should also be punished.
Ps I don’t think any team should be punished retrospectively, legally I’d think its a no no.
