With John Guidetti ineligible, Anthony Stokes is manager Ronny Deila’s first choice striker for Europa League action. Anthony arrived at Glasgow Airport this morning but was sent home ill. He was a certain starter, so whatever plans the manager made, a rethink is in order.
Stefan Scepovic made his goal-scoring breakthrough against Astra last month, and followed up with a goal next time out against Kilmarnock, but he was benched for Partick and Inverness Thistle. Despite being third on the roster he’s likely to be the solitary striker role tomorrow evening.
This is a big game in Stefan’s Celtic career. A European ground with an 8500 capacity presents a different pressure, and expectation, than Celtic Park. Can he rise to the challenge? Wakaso stepped forward in Salzburg and Callum McGregor did the same in Reykjavik, Warsaw and Maribor. Both benefited enormously as a result. I could make a case that Stefan needs this game; the script’s written……
Many thanks to everyone who bought the DVDs from CQNBookstore since yesterday, that’s’ the deal finished. Will try to pull another together at some point.

Bom dia, companheiro(a)s,
Not been on for awhile, mainly due to work committments (currently doing a rota of six weeks in Paris / two in Rio. Sounds exotic, but plays hell wi the family life).
Anyway, just noticed this from today’s Rio papers….
1) Adriano
(no big surprise this one) …. a man of many clubs (currently with Le Havre in France) and undoubtably a wasted talent, has just been charged here in Rio with drug trafficking originating from a dodgy deal with his old “schemey” mates over a motor bike. If found gulity (which is always a big if), the max sentence is 25 years.
http://www.lancenet.com.br/minuto/compra-MPRJ-denuncia-Adriano-trafico_0_1242475907.html
2) Botafogo
Mainly due to financial mismangement of a Sevcorian scale, Botafogo (and a lot of other big clubs) are teetering on the brink of a cash flow abyss – looks like they’ll be relegated this season.
Anyway, their latest plans to ensure cash flow is to join a movement called Panela FC. Basically the idea is a share raising scheme, whereby clubs put players up on a sharedeal website and fans buy into and receive shares in the player. If the player is sold on, the fans stand to gain a share in any transfer fees.

(Sorry both links in Portugese, but included them for reference).
Anyway, Sevcorian though the whole scheme sounds, was wondering how it would feel to pay a few hard earned shekels to “own” John Guidetti’s big toe nail, with the possibilty that it could also buy me a new hoose when he moves on?
Youse?

Cheers. As I dont get back to Scotland very often now, I have only met a few CQN’ers in person. However, those that I have met have all be really good lads, so always happy to add to that list.
Fess19,
Fair enough, I’ll pay more attention in future.

I can make no more comments on resolution 12, I have gave my word, BRT&Hogans foot soldiers got upset, so no more. I like the rest will await the result.
Winning Captains @ 1229hrs,
I’d be up for a piece of that also.
Keep us updated on the progress please, along with info re any payments required etc.
HAIL! HAIL!

Kit,
We all let the frustration get to us, well us overly passionate types :)
I had a few drunken moments myself which must have had people thinking what the …. Is going on, hands up, however :) thankfully that seemed to work elsewhere luckily.

Canamalar, BRTH, Auldheid and Morrissey23, I jumped the gun last week re resolution 12 after receiving my AGM pack. I wrongly assumed that as there was no mention of it in the pack (or at least I could find no mention) that it was a no go.
Having followed the thread since and having seen your posts that statements are imminent I’m pleased things may be about to come to some sort of head, be that positive or negative.
In my view, excellent work by you all even if it’s unappreciated by some ignoramuses among the Celtic support.
Keep up the pressure and the good work. You should be proud to have initiated resolution 12 regardless of the outcome. At the very least you stood up and tried to fight against the system.

Quiz – Torre Andre Flo.
my problem with this quiz, you start off thinking celts that went to england.
then aberdeen players that went to england back in the 80’s
they players way back then.
then you have to think about those great players associated with the famous glasgow rangers, and thy were such plucky lads winning trophies against all the odds.
then you think …………….
how sad
they died.
The SMSM would have you believe that Rangers FC were the victims of a conspiracy which led to them being Relegated, this is a Lie, they were not Relegated, they were Liquidated due to their own financial incompetence. The club currently playing out of Ibrox is a new club formed in 2012, Yes very similar to the old club but never the less a new club.
Something along those lines would be great – I’d pay double to see that!
RTB,
not similar try this
“Yes, they plagarise the symbols and colours of the old club, without any punishments from the ASA, but never the less, they are a new club.
Maybe even have the ad in the DR and Sun, blanket coverage to reach the biggest audience.

Happy for any surplus to go to Mary’s Meals
Lincolnpoacher is correct
15 players played in the matches up to and in luding the final.
the 11 plus Willie oneil, charlie Gallacher, joe mcbride, and john hughes
JF being stripped for final as only keeper was allowed to be a sub.
rock tree bhoy
Aaaaahhhh. The authoring of the ad.
I was wondering who’d be first on this!
I can foresee that being the biggest bun fight if them all as we all chip in our tuppensworth!
HH jamesgang
Jg,
I thought WC & BRTH had already started on it, I will be happy with their submission if only to keep any bun fight to a minimum.
St stivs @1528
I can’t see one of the bodies who have to ‘OK’the advert ‘okaying’ that one.

RANGERS ARE DEAD STUPIT
Manchester City striker John Guidetti has played down speculation about his loan move to Celtic being made permanent.
The Sweden international has been in stunning form since joining the Scottish Champions on loan during the summer, scoring nine goals in as many appearances.
It has lead to manager Ronny Deila revealing he would love to sign the 22-year-old on a permanent basis.
But Guidetti has distanced himself from such talk, instead stating that he is simply taking each game as it comes.
“When you play for a club like Celtic, it’s an honour to wear the shirt and you have to cherish every moment,” Guidetti told the Celtic View.
“I just want to keep playing as long as I can and just enjoy it – go out and give 100% every time I go out and play.
“If you start looking too far ahead you aren’t going to be successful.”

Fascinating TV there just now. Some eejit of the SNP trying vainly to support THAT law. Having praised the Sheriffs, he is told that one Sheriff described it as “mince”. That’s only his opinion, opines he. It’s not mine. Away and bile yer heid, ya numpty.

I’ll be interested to see the SFA response to the Bulgarian FA to either put up and show some evidence or shut up and drop all charges against Tonev. They are currently calling the charges biased and exaggerated against Tonev who they describe as a role model.
Good on them for having some balls.

the glorious balance sheet,
Our Justice Minister will simply applaud the undead choir, as he did at the League Cup Final, unless of course we trounce them and then they commit mayhem. Then it is will “one’s as bad as the other”. They’ll never be rid of Scotland’s shame, unless they face into the reason for it. That, of course, would lead, in our First Minister’s words, to civil unrest.

We note with interest that Celtic FC have been drawn to face The New Rangers for the first time. We hope that this may herald a new era of transparency and consistency in Scottish football, both on and off the pitch.
