Season pivots. Gambling referees

175

As the second half progressed at Pittodrie, our season hung by a thread.  Aberdeen looked the more likely, Celtic were not making chances, it was difficult to see where a win was coming from.  A week earlier, we closed out the game against Dundee United better, without reward, but the winner arrived yesterday, courtesy of Tom Rogic, Adam Montgomery and the always-dangerous, Jota.

Kyogo’s return to league duty brought a reward within 11 minutes.  The Japanese icon steered a David Turnbull cross off his chest into the net.  It was an unconventional finish that should have set Celtic on course for a comfortable victory against an Aberdeen team that struggled to find a pass.

The home side came out a different team at halftime and took advantage of a perennial Celtic weakness to score from a corner kick.  Scott Brown almost doubled the damage from a subsequent corner, forcing an instinctive save from Joe Hart.

There is a points gap that does not really matter how much you will improve, you are going to struggle to pull off a recovery.  We have seen Celtic recover from more than 9 points behind much later than this in the season, but those were exceptional times.  We don’t want to go there again.

Teams that win leagues find ways to win games, even when they are struggling.  Celtic needed to do this yesterday.  When Jota got on the end of that cross, the season pivoted.

You can bet on which team will be awarded more fouls in some foreign betting markets.  The probity of our match officials and their resistance to the debt spiral gambling can bring should be monitored. Unfortunately, it is not.

  5. Are the authorities taking action against Aberdeen for the bottle throwing incidents?

And was the booing of Kyogo racist?

You don’t think that the board are dishonest ?

Resolution 12 ? 5WA ? Old firm game ticket prices in 2016 kept to same old firm price as 2012 ?

The boards hidden handed way of saying “Same Club” it looks that way to me ?!?!

Not one of the 53k old firm luvvies said a single word ?!?!

Almost 30k old firm luvvies seemed to disappear from their seats in the absence of old firm games.

The entire club is old firm based until we get a new breed of Celtic fans who’ll institute a regime change event, replacing the current board, with a non old firm loving board.

Because there ain’t no regime change event will be forthcoming from the current 53k old firm luvvies ticket holders, or they would’ve did so after the dishonest boards, Resolution 12, 5WA betrayal. No ?

The 53k who knowingly finance a dishonest, old firm luvvies driven board, then that 53k are just as dishonest, if not as cowardly, as the board. Don’t you think ?

  9. Back to Basics - Glass Half Full on

    100% hypothetical scenario.

Your organisation (remember that phrase) has a significant stakeholder who is a convicted financial criminal on multiple counts.

This convicted criminal sent his ill gotten gains to Hong Kong, safely away from the jurisdiction investigating his crimes.

He threw money around Hong Kong as part of the deal to launder and protect his newly acquired wealth.

As a result, he got to know the movers and shakers a little bit (who they know, how they work)

Years after the above, that significant shareholder, acting on behalf of your organisation borrows .. say £20m …. from a Hong Kong “financier”.

Your organisation is leveraged to the hilt and it’s cash flow doesn’t allow this loan to be repaid “conventionally”.

    So how is it repaid?

    Simple. Unconventionally.

To kick this off, the financier borrows the £20m he plans to give your organisation from cash rich groups who like to bet (but don’t like to gamble ! )

In return, the financier arranges, with the help of your organisation’s “significant stakeholder” to arrange for specific bet outcomes to occur (which they will bet on).

    Say, for example ….

How many fouls a team will commit (outside a statistical norm).

    How would one arrange that?

Perhaps they would persuade an individual or two who can influence the number of fouls awarded … AND who is in debt to them …. to repay his debt this way.

Maybe a “handshake” or two is all that was required?

    Far fetched?

    Very possibly.

Totally unrelated to the above ….

I remember years ago a betting syndicate arranging for a floodlight failure in a televised, English Premier League match in order to win a bet.

At the time it got me thinking ….

“Wow, if these guys can nobble a multi-billion pound sports industry, screwing a multi-billion pound broadcaster in the process?

Then THEY CAN FIX ANYTHING !!!!”

  20. After the match, as a token of appreciation, Stoke City chairman Sir Francis Joseph gifted Rangers their own Loving Cup. His one request being that the vessel should be used in perpetuity to toast the health of the reigning monarch prior to the clubs first home match of every New Year.

So it is, to this day, in the Blue Room in Ibrox, before the first home game of each New Year, the Toast to the health of the reigning Monarch is celebrated by the Rangers board members & the board members of the visiting team.

    GOD SAVE THE QUEEN

    Footnote-

It is thought that there are only 5 Loving Cups’ left in circulation. Chelsea’s cup is in their museum, Stoke City got a replacement for the one they gifted us and Grimsby Town, Everton and Rangers still have theirs. Out of the 5 clubs, Rangers, Stoke City, Everton & Grimsby Town still to this day, toast the health of the reigning Monarch before the first home game of the new season.

As an aside to this glorious humbling and dignified tradition, jealous supporters of a club who’s name we will not mention, circulated a digital media rumour that the loving cup is actually a replica , with the original stolen along with arsenal shares, by a person unknown, but seen hurtiling down the marble staircase on the saint etienne bike.

Totally unfactual as can be seen with this picture of the loving cup taken just today

    —————————————————————–

The board are undoubtedly dishonest / corrupt , they have been proven so with all of the above .

However there were 25/30.000 of us there when Rangers were not . Some maybe came back due to Brendan and seen progress and professionalism and hope to take us to a new level.

some would definitely come back for their oldfirm fix , i wont put percentages on the figures ,i’ll leave that for someone else.

I wanted / thought NFL was the guy to get us the 10, he new the club , playing style , the pressure from media , fans and refs.

Cant see how the Board managed to corrupt him and the players to fail , although in hindsight they could’ve acted earlier and got rid , but their not known for doing anything quick that benefitted the fans .
