SEEING RED: FLAG DAY DELAYED

CELTIC’S title celebrations will be forced to wait for at least another week – thanks to two RIDICULOUS penalty-kick decisions at Ibrox this afternoon.

Referee Don Robertson awarded Steven Gerrard’s side a couple of controversial spot-kicks in their 2-0 win over Aberdeen in Govan.

And, just to make matters even more nonsensical, the blundering match official red-carded defender Andy Conisidine at the second decision.

Dodgy penalty No.1  came two minutes after the interval when Nikola Katic fell over after a half-hearted challenge from Lewis Ferguson. Robertson pointed to the spot and James Tavernier stuck the ball wide of Joe Lewis.

Dodgy penalty No.2 arrived midway through the second-half when Katic – again! – and Consideine went for a left-wing corner-kick. The Ibrox defender went down theatrically and once again Robertson gave the award.

He then flashed a second yellow at the beweildered Pittodrie player.

Tavernier thumped in his ELEVENTH penalty-kick of the campaign. At this rate, he could make a late surge for the European Golden Boot award.

Celtic can now win their eighth successive crown at Pittodrie on Saturday while Gerrard’s men take on Hibs at Ibrox 24 hours later.
