In the immediate aftermath of defeat in Turin our manager was magnanimous towards his opponents, the television broadcaster and his players. Sky TV were thanked for their treatment of Celtic (note to others), Juventus were encouraged to win the Champions League, and Neil acknowledged some players may want to further their careers beyond Scotland.
Let’s be clear, most of the squad are happy at Celtic. Georgios Samaras could go anywhere in Europe but this Celtic team is his project, as much as it is yours or mine. Many of the others, including Matthews, Wilson, Lustig, Forster, Mulgrew, Commons, Ledley, Forrest and Izaguirre are settled at Celtic with plenty still to achieve.
Hooper and Wanyama have declined contract offers, so will be most likely to leave in the summer, but in the business Celtic are in right now, if they go, who they go to, is important. If we lose players to tier-one clubs it will make attracting others a whole lot easier. If you are a stepping stone to Barcelona, as with Larsson, you are a far more attractive employer than if you lose a striker to Norwich City (I’m friendly with a former Nigerian international who went on trial to Hamilton Accies the week after, and on the strength of, Brian Easton leaving there for the English Premier League).
Selling right makes it easier to buy who you want. Got to get the right price, keep them for the Champions League qualifiers, and make sure you sell to the right club.
See you at 7.30pm tonight at the Supporters’ Association Club on London Road for the Twists & Turns Celtic Supporters Club charity night. There will be Question and Answer session with me, John Fallon, Dixie Deans, Archie MacPherson, compared by Phil Agnew. Afterwards you can enjoy music from Foggy Dew.
Tickets are £10 and you can get them from Phil by calling 07811 178764. Profits are going to the Tommy Burns charity.

I will be glad to see your draft but as you know I have my own ideas and have made my first draft up for submission to the whistleblower site.
There is merit in us all doing this in our own way and while it is good to swap ideas we must all be seen to be original.
I am impressed by some of the arguments made by posters, some of whom are obviously lawyers and deal with the technical niceties such as the fact that SPL didn’t plead ineligibilty so as not pleaded could not be considered by LNS.
Similarly LNS decision that no advantage gained was because it was not proven to him that any other club didn’t have the same players on EBTs.
I don’t agree that LNS hands were tied by SFA evidence or SPL omission in pleading.
LNS was empowered by instruction from SPL to look into “all aspects of the payments to Rangers players”.
He could have went as far as he thought fit and he often has done when he was a judge.
I didn’t admire the late Lord Justice Denning, but he famously quoted the centuries old legal maxim: “Fraus omnia vitiate, Fraud vitiates everything”, and went on to explain this as meaning that: “No judgment of a Court, no order of a Minister, can be allowed to stand if it has been obtained by fraud. Fraud unravels everything.”
As fraud unravels everything, the impropriety of Rangers registration means IMHO that the Golden Rule applies and gives the tribunal power to overlook mere technicalities in the interests of a just decision rather than a technically correct one.
Maybe the European clubs will give us justice that we can’t get in Scotland?
This ain’t over yet.
No wee Izzy, No wee Jamesie, No wee Commons, No big Vic

Double for Miku…
Obviously i did everton in me big bet this week
Having an awful time at the bookies this year
Really interesting team. 3-4-1-2. New defence of Efe, Wilson, and Gershon, who had a great game at LCB v Inverness, scoring on his debut. In this formation, Mulgrew is excellent at LM, while expect Mcgeouch to run riot. Question mark over midfield – Kayal and Ledley are new to this formation, which in my opinion needs better passing more than it does shielding/breaking up play. Hooper is new to the deep forward role (but is our best there in 4-3-1-2), while Stokes and Miku are a decent, if unspectacular, partnership up front.
Kayal33 – you were closer than me, but a miss is as good as mile.
new article posted.
I was going to say pairing, rather than partnership, but then I sensed bournesouprecipe’s presence, and reluctantly forbore.
CELTIC (3-4-1-2) Forster; Ambrose, Wilson, Gershon; McGeouch, Kayal, Ledley, Mulgrew; Hooper; Miku, Stokes
Subs: Zaluska, Lassad, Commons, Rogic, McCourt, Rogne, Watt
