I don’t cling to sentiment when it comes to footballers on high wages, so when Scott Sinclair was unable to get into the first team I would happily have released him. We seldom see a player rediscover his form and goal touch as demonstrably as he has in recent months.
You may have noticed the way Scott coached Timo Weah during Saturday’s game against Hamilton. He is thriving on the responsibility and the confidence it instils. Playing the wings is a hard shift. You hear more ‘feedback’ from the crowd there than from other areas of the field. I know some of our very best wingers in recent times have carried this extra burden.
Delighted that the three clubs scrapping for second place below us managed to take points off each other in a week Celtic won twice. Well done to Aberdeen, Newco and Kilmarnock for sticking with it. If there was a clear challenger their task would be easier.
It is a source of some regret that Project Hibs is on the skids right now and Neil Lennon is set to lose his job. Hibs and Neil seemed a perfect match. His results at the club against Celtic, Newco and Hearts were unprecedented in the modern era. Football progress is seldom linear and this year was destined to be one of realignment, something Neil and the club should have acknowledged.
They could do worse than appointing boyhood Hibs fan, Gordon Strachan, as manager, but whoever gets the job will be a step down from Neil. They are likely to remain a Premiership team for the foreseeable future – they will not appoint the likes of Terry Butcher again – but mid-table mediocrity beckons.

Lord Alf Dubs was six years old when the Nazis occupied Czechoslovakia and he was forced to flee his home.

Maybe !.
Teenage me did the kibbutz thing (summer holidays ) . Left wing , secular and very ” Hippy ” . Often close to Zionist ones where I encountered Zionist zoonsters with the Number 17 tattooed on the back of their left hand. I didn’t know what that meant -I asked the question. — the answer — EVIAN . Cue researching it in the Fabby Do Mitchell Library when I returned to Glasgow.
Ernie,
Straight from the left wing bible.

Again could I ask you to provide a link to one person on the far left who denies the Holocaust.
A newspaper article mentioning a book which refers to Holocaust denial isn’t what I was after. I was looking for the name of one individual. Just one.
Saint Stivs………….
despite the link…..;)
” Norse Men, South Men, comrades all………….”

Benovcic is injury prone, cut his loan deal, send him back to Leicester, personally I don’t rate him,if he is that good why isn’t playing in the First Team, but Brendan Rodgers and Celtic need to be realistic, and sign a couple of decent defenders, there is no excuses.
Reports that Benkovic could be out for the season . If so we could be down to Kris , Jozo and Nir to plug gaps at CB with possibly Mikel on standby and Jack’s loan move postponed. Not sure how serious Dedryk’s injury is. Be ironic if a decent sized bid came in this window and Brendan was faced with the summer situation all over again.
Remembering the holocoust lest the same might happen again. Well the way the Israelis are treating the people of Palestine shows that the lessons have not been learned.

Absolutely agree with what the holocaust survivor said .
Fascism. Hungary much worse than Germany.
Did the German population have a say in the decision ?
Should they have had a say ?
The British did.
imho that played a significant part in the Brexit decision .
Ernie,
Where have we heard ” Name Names” before.
I won’t go down that particular road, suffice to say it doesn’t take a lot of research.
Extreme left, extreme right. The clue is in the name . Two sides of the same coin.

Another I agree with .
Time for bed.
Thanks for the stimulating discussion .
Scunnered to read that Benkovic might have a serious injury. Especially, having already lost Boyata. Strangely, neither injury was obvious during the games.
If both are going to be out long term it will be squeaky bum time in respect of the treble.
At least it will let us get a glimpse of next season’s sieve.

Hun game will definitely go ahead. Pitch has been protected by a heated baloon set up, whch apparently they have helped to pay for.

That’s just pathetic.

Churchill’s motivation was to save the Empire. He wasn’t overly concerned about the fate of any of Hitler’s victims.
Ernie,
Agree, extremism from whatever source is pathetic.

Jimmy Bell made it then

I know everyone isn’t into the penny pinching but £100,000 here £1/2 mil there soon adds up. If some clubs were hoping to stick it to us when we were level with Sevco, will their resolve slacken should we go 6 points clear? #hopingforlastdaybonanzaCSC

Cheers mate, so many jokes flying through my napper know, think I’ve got a headache, although on reading it again I’m stumped by the ” they are helping to pay for it ” bit. Not like that mob is it, TV company probably told them get it on or we are not showing it next week.
Damn! missed another sitter.

Helium mend them for having it postponed ..????
Sevco game all a bit up in the air at the moment.
The Orangers set to rip up Penas contract. Easiest £2m he’ll ever earn.
I see we are in crisis mode again. Bottom line is that Ajer and Simunovic are competent centre half’s. Not Bitton is available. PC Lustig is available. Boyata should be back for the weekend.
It could be worse. We could have Joe Worrall and Gareth McAuley available!
KTF
Not Bitton should read Nir Bitton.

Any clarity on this Benkovic rumour from folk in the know ?
Tend oi treat the Sun with the disdain it deserves and living in hope they are at it.
Hun game going ahead after the proceeds of their inflated crowd at the HJK friendly helps pay for heated balloon or whatever it is.
