Sevco expelled to Irn-Bru SPL. Phenomenal.

In October last year, with Rangers riding high in the league and with Craig Whyte enjoying messianic worship at Ibrox, Celtic Quick News published an article with a few predictions:

“In the event of Rangers facing financial Armageddon…. a prepack offer from a new company, for example, Rangers Newco FC Ltd, would offer an administrator a deal for all assets of the club, including stadium and offer to meet outstanding player wages.  Deals like this seldom offer unsecured creditors much but even a small percentage might realise more cash than the administrator would gamble on raising in an unstructured sale.

“In such circumstances, the administrator could accept as little as £4m for the unsecured creditors.

“In normal business Rangers Newco FC Ltd would begin trading and this would be the end of the story but football is not normal business.  Rangers Newco FC would own a stadium and would employ some footballers but they would not be part of any league structure. They would need to apply for membership to the Scottish Football League or Scottish Premier League.

“In this scenario, the death of Rangers Football Club would leave a vacancy in the SPL, presenting several financial, logistical and sporting challenges….  current TV contracts and sponsorship deals could be jeopardised, while future contracts would be worth a fraction of their current values.

“There is, of course, a resolution to this problem.

“Rangers Newco FC Ltd could present an offer to the SPL.  The new company, with its stadium and thousands of potential supporters, could. … adopt the place of Rangers FC, complete their fixtures and allow every other team in the league to fulfil commercial obligations.

“ If [enough]clubs stand against them, they would have to apply for membership of the Scottish Football League, but, having researched this story for several days, I expect Rangers Newco FC Ltd would get enough support to pick-up the place of the defunct Rangers FC.

“Celtic fans, as well as those from Aberdeen, Hibernian, Dundee United and St Johnstone, together with fans from Motherwell, who could become genuine championship contenders [they were pushing us hard at the time], and from those clubs who would avoid relegation if Rangers failed, must insist their club votes against any prepack company parachuting into the league.

“Watch the media coverage of these events carefully.  If and when the decision time comes, the case to acquiesce to Rangers Newco’s demands will be overwhelming.  Sincere ‘impartial’ observers will do their upmost to convince us all we must do whatever necessary to save Rangers for the good of the Scottish game.  Some voices will even tell you Celtic need Rangers Newco.  Whatever part of my club is dependent on Rangers I am willing to lose.”

Pretty much all of the above came to pass but the position of the SPL clubs is noteworthy.  As recently as last month Celtic were the only club prepared to vote No to Newco.  In the months since Rangers went into administration in February the crescendo of fans voices slowly became impossible to ignore.  Clubs which were set to vote yes, were left with no choice but to observe their ultimate paymasters.

It was a phenomenal grassroots campaign.

Kelvinbhoy asked me to pass on his thanks for the fantastic response to his appeal for kids bikes for underprivileged children. Well done to all who helped!

He might want to point out that those 66 fans died as a direct result of the negligence of the club, who fought tooth and nail to avoid paying compensation to the bereaved families.

    weeminger,

been thinking about that, no sure how this will play out until the ref dept is reviewed.

IMO we did get many dodgy decisions when playing everyone else, I considered this to be part of the bad as the other strategy. I used to wonder what hibs had done to mccurry for some of the decisions he gave us, until I squared that with the as bad as the other, this destroyed any arguments we may have offered.

I think they will try and nurture the notion that we are avoured above all others ,which will ensure the hatred is nurtured.

  8. The Rangers manager could not contain his disgust yesterday as he fired off a blistering attack on the body he believes may just have wrecked any hopes his club had of being saved from administration.

The three-man tribunal also hit Rangers with £160,000 worth of fines while banning shamed owner Craig Whyte from football for life.

And McCoist said: “Plain and simply, I think it is an absolutely shocking decision. I found out last night and I was shocked and absolutely appalled by the way this supposedly independent judicial panel was coming down on us in this form.

“Who are these people? I want to know who these people are. I’m a Rangers supporter and the Rangers supporters and the Scottish public deserve to know who these people are, people who are working for the SFA.

“Make no mistake about it, this is an SFA decision. They have appointed the panel so therefore they are working for the SFA, but who are they?

“I think we have a right to know who is handing out this punishment to us, I really do. Like everyone else involved – our team, our supporters, our staff and a lot of neutrals – I’m staggered at the severity of the punishment.

“This decision could kill our football club, simple as that. Make no mistake about it. This panel is not totally to blame for the death of our football club if it happens but this particular decision could kill our football club.

Well Ally, one of them was from Raith Rovers and they have just turned your club over by refusing you into Division 1.

    Lol!!

  9. I definitely won’t miss the huns. I only hope they don’t get back in somehow via some sneaky fire escape route. The country will almost certainly be a better place without them around.

Yes we know there will still be the OO, but the club gone means that a conduit, a lightning rod, for the bigoted hun mindset is defunct. There will be marching season. There will still be morons in pubs and on the streets but they will not have the daily prop of a club to use as a channel for their hate. That has to be a good thing. Some of the worst huns that went to Ibrokes were so atavistic that even the luj scorned their advances.

There are those who will argue that it is better that people, for whom hate comes easy, are occupied by some purpose rather than none at all- but I cannot see how the prosperity of an organization that countenanced sectarian enmity can be viewed as positive by any civilized person. Such hatred not only becomes an individual, but also a collective, cultural habit. When the rest of their world-view vanishes into meaninglessness then the hate is always there to give life a trace of meaning, a counterfeit purpose, a means by which to define ones ersatz identity by the intensity of execration towards an other.

If their complete demise saves a few lives of our own and others then all that has come to pass will be enormously justified.

In time, no matter what the huns say in public, eventually many of them will drift off to support other teams (hopefully mellowing by mutual example of other more decent fans). And their descendants will inevitably support us as well as other Scottish clubs, maybe making for a more equitable distribution of fanbases.

    PS

I have first hand experience of pure naked hunnery in all its vengeful ugliness, when I was stabbed seven times by a gang of the scum in Shawlands years ago…all because of the sight of a crucifix! The world will be a better place without them and hopefully safer if the clubs absence dilutes the sectarian element.

  12. The Scottish Football Association have requested that Charles Green submits the necessary paperwork to apply for the transfer of Rangers’ membership to his new company by Friday.

The owner of Sevco 5088, which own the assets of the Ibrox club bought for £5.5m, has made a short, formal request to the governing body for their board to consider switching the membership from the old company to his newco.

Green though is yet to provide necessary information for the request to be considered, such as the details of the shareholdings of his company and its structure, a business plan and information to comply with the Scottish FA’s rules on fit and proper persons.

Haud oan a minute…did they ‘give’ the documents to the police or were the police taking what they wanted because they had a warrant? 17. So what happens of the SFA don’t think Mr Green is fit and proper? Does he have to hand it back to D&P, and get his money back? Might be a lucky escape for him… Under the new rules was it not supposed to the seller’s responsibility to sell only to parties likely to pass the test?

For anyone who thinks they will not renew or get value from their ST if we have no huns games I’m very confused. If its your opinion and genuinely held then so be it,however do you really spend 5 or 6 hundred pounds for two games a season? I would suggest that makes you a bit of a diddy. You should spend your money on something thats a little bit better value than £3.33 a minute,I certainly would,my ticket cost me closer to 30p per minute.

  22. Why they wont miss the huns in Barcelona…

Sometimes we get lucky & see how people must have lived in the

“DARK AGE”, so called because human knowledge stopped & the

    masses were without education.

Yesterday in Barcelona, Scottish & Rangers fans gave us & the world

an reenactment of the then state of mentality & how barbarians acted

& lived back then, & all for free!

As animals they grouped up together to express their joy in visiting

one of Europe´s centers of culture, & to celebrate in the name of their

team & city – Glasgow- tonights FC Barcelona vs Glasgow Rangers

    Champions League group game.

To show their respects to their warm & friendly hosts, Rangers barbarians

pissed on the statue of Francesc Macia, equivalente if a Spaniard went &

pissed on a statue of “St.Andrews” or “Robert The Bruce”. A fairly

understandable mistake if you take into account the zero culture of the

individuals & their lack of mental evolution since 800 years ago.

SFS knows beforehand that these 000s Scottish performers are NOT a

true representation of the city of Glasgow nor of lovely Scotland. However,

the question goes out to all the educated, European & humanitarian

    21st Century Scottish folk :

How long will you permit that these one brain celled walking animals

be the worldwide image of the country & of your long valiant history &

    culture?

With such zero capacity for rationality the responsiblity falls on the former

& not on this army of walking s*** roaming aimlessly drunk around

Barcelona. What are they doing in Barcelona if they have not any tickets

to see their team or the game? Irrational behaviour for irrational

    individuals…
