FORMER Celtic loan star John Guidetti is on the verge of signing for Spanish giants Sevilla.The Europa League winners have been impressed with the striker’s displays for Sweden in the European Under-21 Championships.
And they are ready to make a move to get the 23-year-old frontman in time for the UEFA Super Cup showdown against Barcelona on Tuesday, August 11.
Lazio are also interested in Guidetti, who is a free agent after quitting Manchester City at the end of his contract, but Sevilla are lining up a swoop as they search for a hitman to take over from Carlos Bacca.
The Colombian international, who was wanted by Liverpool, has agreed to join AC Milan in a £21million deal.
Guidetti, who scored 15 goals for the Hoops during his season-long loan period, is seen as the ideal replacement.
