SFA and Sevco agree on embargo

719

This evening we received clarity on two items first reported here and on several other locations months ago.  Sevco have accepted the 12 month player registration embargo handed down by Lord Carloway’s Appellate Tribunal as a condition of their application for membership of the SFA, while Fifa have granted four former Rangers players permission to sign for new clubs.

The SFA, under president Campbell Ogilvie, took every step possible to alert Sevco that if they did not accept the transfer embargo a more severe penalty would be imposed on Rangers, whose licence they are trying to acquire.  Hopes of “elimination” from the Scottish Cup as an alternative punishment were based on false logic, and were also just silly.

Sevco disputed the embargo, hoping the SFA would offer to set it aside, as it tried to set-aside so many other rules to accommodate them in recent weeks, however, the best the new company could achieve was an accommodation to allow them to stock up on players over the next five weeks in order to off-set the effects of so many players ‘walking away’.

There is a chance this decision will save Sevco a second season in the SFL Third Division but there remains many hurdles for the new club to achieve before they start and complete a football season.

No mention yet of what the SFA and SPL plan to do with the plethora of other disciplinary matters due against Rangers, or how they proposed to prevent their own independent judicial process from reaching an inconvenient verdict.

Who cares – they are gash – they will need to buy at 3rd Div level – thus reducing themselves to semi-amateurs…

yes it was bad…and my fat fingers couldn’t even type it right

trying to hard to be first…………..actions of a hun maybe, but I am not one

  5. Football is so shockingly corrupt now. Huns thrown an SFA lifeline.

At least it is being exposed by this site and others.

Permanently but will be going to a school in England for most of the year, only just moved this week, so maybe stop sending texts for a couple of weeks just in case it costs me (which ive been told it wont) I’ve turned my phone off anyway until I get the contract sorted so nothing should have been received, but I’ll give you a text when I get it sorted if that’s okay? Thanks very much anyway.

Btw, you off to Amsterdam tomorrow?

This must be the only case in Scottish legal history , when the guilty party is allowed to negotiate with officialdom , as to what punishment it is willing to accept. You could not make it up!

Can the SFA circumvent the independent judicial tribunals process or is it set in stone until changed by member clubs?

  10. Paul67:

Any thoughts on whether Sevco will be allowed to carry on the dead club footballing history by accepting punishments for the dead club?

You, me and everybody here know the dead club existed from 1872 – 2012 in terms of both business and footballing terms. However, Green will maintain I am sure as will their publications website etc. list their achievements as one footballing role.

Do we need to ask the SFA to clarify the footballing history?

    Keep the Faith!

If he is moving to Qatar give me a shout…

Ahaah!! It’s not just me in Qatar then :)

I don’t really know the gist of your post as I must have missed an earlier thread, but it looks like you know someone who is moving to Qatar soon, and if anyone’s moving to here just now it may be worth noting that the country has no alcohol for the next month now that Ramadan has been called. All hotel licenses are suspended, and THE ‘only off license’ in the country (aka QDC) is now closed for a month!

Is there a protocol for exchanging details here? I’d happily assist with any newcomers as I’ve been here 3 years already. There’s no doubt it’s a bit of a culture shock, but I’d be interested in meeting up with some fellow tims here anyway, AND I stocked up before QDC closed ;)

    Hail Hail,

    KevinBhoy.

  12. Paul. Now that Neil has officially said he has no money

And the fact that we have only 6 1st team defenders left and a very weak central defence

Do you think that our club is taking a big gamble , considering Helsinki are better than anything we will face in the SPL in coming season?

    My view is yes

As the battered Bunnet said last night

We are one hamstring away from a crisis ( ie Wilson into center defence ).

When was that due to have come into force

  16. Lennybhoy

Also, until I can text again is it alright if a Facebook you now and again for transfer updates? Your my number one source ;)

  17. Paul67 et al

Thing is Charlie green won’t know if it is a good thing or a bad thing. Thing about professional players, they expect to get paid, even in the Juniors! And another thing, looks like Duff and Duffer cost the former company a fair bit of cash. Naismith, Davis and McGregor would have generated something, instead of nothing. A couple of half decent young players too, gone gone gone.

  18. When decisions on what league this newco were to play in despite the manipulation and threats from the games admistrators Doncaster regan and Ogilvie ,they were told by the clubs Div 3 , when it now comes to decisions to be made by Regan etc its cosy chats and decide for yourself , Scottish football administration is still corrupt.

  19. PF

    what ?

    that didn’t happen,

there is no appeal, god help me coz your mate still can’t take it in..

You’ll need to start the morning with 6 pints at the Heineken brewery, followed by a booze filled barge trip, followed by a few beers after the game and a trip to the Paradiso …if you want to make up for my absence !

I answered the questions I wanted to.

What point is it you want to make? Don’t be scared lol

    Fire away!

  22. Campbell Ogilvie and David Longmuir have blocked me via email.

The only way Scottish football will move forward is when Ogilvie, Regan, Doncaster, Ballantyne, Longmuir resign.

The SFA are a corrupt organisation and the game will only prosper once these morons go.

  23. We have insufficient cover at CB …Mulgrew cover LB for us …a cople a injuries in defence and we could be all over the place

Clearly Fojut was considered necessary…why no replacement ?

Also there must have been a substantial reduction in the wage bill

With Helsinki we face a club well into its season whilst we are bound to be rusty. This is a situation we are going to face on a regular basis and there is no doubt we will be at a disadvantage no matter the quality of the opposition. I do feel we have to take radical steps to ensure we are as close to match fitness as we can even if this means shorter close seasons in future or some other alterations to suit the circumstances. The financial and other values (player recruitment) of CL Group revenues is something we cannot afford to miss out on.For the moment our approach seems to be let’s hope for the best.
