SFA and Sevco agree on embargo

719

This evening we received clarity on two items first reported here and on several other locations months ago.  Sevco have accepted the 12 month player registration embargo handed down by Lord Carloway’s Appellate Tribunal as a condition of their application for membership of the SFA, while Fifa have granted four former Rangers players permission to sign for new clubs.

The SFA, under president Campbell Ogilvie, took every step possible to alert Sevco that if they did not accept the transfer embargo a more severe penalty would be imposed on Rangers, whose licence they are trying to acquire.  Hopes of “elimination” from the Scottish Cup as an alternative punishment were based on false logic, and were also just silly.

Sevco disputed the embargo, hoping the SFA would offer to set it aside, as it tried to set-aside so many other rules to accommodate them in recent weeks, however, the best the new company could achieve was an accommodation to allow them to stock up on players over the next five weeks in order to off-set the effects of so many players ‘walking away’.

There is a chance this decision will save Sevco a second season in the SFL Third Division but there remains many hurdles for the new club to achieve before they start and complete a football season.

No mention yet of what the SFA and SPL plan to do with the plethora of other disciplinary matters due against Rangers, or how they proposed to prevent their own independent judicial process from reaching an inconvenient verdict.

I just have the basic CelticTV and it’s fine for me. I live in England so we don’t get many games live. At least, we get the audio, which is a million times better than Radio Scotland, and then from about midnight Celtic Park time on the day of the game you get the whole thing on video. You would get live video.

    Tbb,

I wonder about that too, no doubt if it’s happening the”authorities” will have agreed a news blackout to help their investigation. Just like they did with Lenny, a disgrace.

Can someone remind us all howmany culprits were caught, from what I remember only the ones who included the lawyer and the politician were done.

Or are they trying to tell us they two sectarian rackets were

Responsible for all the threats including, bullets, phone calls using terrorist codes words, must have featured to for the police to have responded with such drastic measures as to evacuate the target.

So have all these investigations been completed or shelved.

    Tbb,

I hinted to Alex thompsons about this a few weeks ago,

Doesn’t look as if he sees anything newsworthy.

Why is the Derry Celtic shop closing, could it be threats ?

  16. AsonofDan,shutter city, easily 1 a week closing..you would be pushed to get a pint under £3 after seven o clock..overpriced..pound shops have hit the small shops..big year next year,City of culture and all Ireland Fleadh.

Some good tunes there bhoy, boatman version is defo up there. Miss the tunes crazy on this side of the world. With the amount of Irish here there’s a massive gap.

On the football front . Are we guarenteed Europa cup ? If so surely 3m for decent centre for the team isn’t a massive gamble and if beat Helsinki then we can afford a good striker .

Why is Blackman,Rasmussen,Murphy still there ? Surely we could get 1m between them all.

On current squad to face Helsinki I would pick

    Foster

    Df-Matthew

    Izzy

    Vic

    Mulgrew

    Mf-forrest

    Brown

    Kayal

    Ledley

    Sami

  21. On line shopping and a poor city centre being blamed for shop closing. The state of the economy will not be helping.

I believe Sevco will flounder badly considering how tight money is. Who will fork out hard earned cash to watch Elgin City at ibrox.

  22. Canamarlar, nothing to do with threats..It’s too expensive..When the new jersey came out,Around the corner from the Celtic shop,JJB were selling the top a few pound cheaper..add cheaper shorts socks and free lettering for a couple rigs,is good savings..Derry has high unemployment,so money is tight in the average Celtic household..

  23. The bould bhoys..... Tá ár lá anois on

Well we’ve seen it this week mate,.. when it comes to the piggies, they’re beyond accountablility.

  24. 43 Rasmussen fastens onto a loose

  25. HT at Firhill. Partick Thistle 1-0

Celtic XI. The home side lead

thanks to Sean Welsh’s 33rd minute

    goal.
