SFA CEO, who’d want to do it?

328

You’re not going to hear a defence of Stewart Regan from me. The job of CEO of the SFA is clearly too big for him, this has been evident for years. But to be fair, the job had been beyond most. Anyone capable of delivering high performance at the Association over the last five years shouldn’t be at the SFA, they should be achieving at a fast higher level.

I know some great candidates for the job but I wouldn’t wish it on them. The SFA CEO job is for a hit and run turnaround expert.  Make everyone hate you, fix a small number of things and get out. Of Scotland.  Even then, you’ll probably fail.

Anyone who thinks there are simple solutions to complex problems should stick to politics.

We’ll see how effective the old media are at undermining execs in our game. My guess is more than you might think.

  1. Dembele scores 1-1 France v England U 21s on BT Sport, we will be lucky to keep this bhoy next season IMO

  2. I had a wee look on Hun media earlier.

Most of them haven’t a clue about res 12, so they just resort to accusing Tims of being obsessed with their mob. It’s always a great I indication of when your enemy has no argument ( doesn’t understand or doesn’t want to understand) ? So the answer then is to indulge in some name calling and run away !

They really are the most pathetic bunch of morons that I have ever come across.

As expected some of them who maybe have read a tiny part of the issues surrounding res12, still can’t see that this is about the corruption within the SFA ?

Again they are the ones who are obsessed with their obsession to attach blame on us Tims.

The Huns can’t get it, cos part of this as I see it is, should the SFA be brought to book and the res12 Bhoys are successful, then the SFA will fall.

However whilst that be ideal, UEFA can’t touch Sevco as it was oldco and the SFA who have colluded ?

Now IF that were to happen and the SFA came under serious investigation, the Huns of Sevco would be caught between two stools ?

They would at first be laughing that UEFA can’t sanction them ( as it was oldco) involved in the corruption with the SFA, however that would then mean that if the SFA are found guilty back in 2011, with UEFA stating that they couldn’t sanction Sevco for the crimes if oldco, then surely finally at long last, the Huns would have to concede that they are a new club ?

Surely they wouldn’t want it both ways, yet again ?

  3. TET- After half a dozen games i thought Dembele would be our first £20 mil player, after Man City i said make that 30 mil, i think Brendan will make sure we don’t get mugged….

  4. BADA BING,

I forgot this game was on so I’ve just turned it on @ 42 minutes. Should see Moussas goal at half time. Will catch his other goals in real time in the 2nd half !

With him playing tonight, maybe Brendan will start with the Griff on Friday v Killie mob ?

If Brendan has any input I agree, does he, time will tell.

I reckon someone will tempt us in the next window, he won’t go, but he must be odds on to go in the summer, if BR has a say he will have to have someone else lined up, as I say, time will tell.

  10. Media go on about how the so called Royal Family pay their respects at Poppy time. So they should. They gained most from the millions of sevicemen who have died for king/queen and country. King/queen first of course.

We shouldn’t criticize monarchies even our own. It’s the new 21st century global Economic model. It’s always comforting to witness first hand our intellectual evolution as a species.

Excellent post encapsulating my own concerns.

I have boring the blog all day seeking a mechanism whereby our Board is compelled to state how it intends to proceed on (old) Res12.

Auldheid is hopeful that a statement will be made at AGM on Wednesday.

I would like to see some guarantee.

In the meantime if every supporter, be they shareholder or not, e-mails John Paul Taylor with a request that the Club Secretary is made aware that supporters wish to have a clear and unambiguous statement on progressing original Res12 either prior to, or at AGM. HH

    ======$

My hope will increase exponentially with the number of folk who e mail.

That is the whole point of giving folk reason to with the blogs and posts here. To get leverage.

Whatever was the definitive reason for Kenny leaving, one aspect may have been the financial trouble he had.

He, his father in law and possibly others, lost a large amount of money in failed whisky bonding venture.

    Ok no takers?

What’s betdaq giving on Celtic PLC being considered by all and sundry Wednesday night as Old Firm?

  15. At the risk of stating the bloody obvious, for Keith Jacshun and his pals to criticise anybody for not doing their job properly ( Strachan Regan etc) is hypocrisy of the highest order, when the smsm turn a blind eye and deaf ear whenever it suits their beloved Huns !

Eric Catona called it spot on with ” when the seagulls follow the trawler etc”, the smsm shouldn’t be allowed to follow the trawler, the shoukd be ” keelhauled behind it !

    Aye, aye skipper !

As a shareholder who will be in attendance at the AGM on Wednesday 16th November,

can I ask you to bring to the attention of the Celtic Plc Company Secretary, that I will expect a Statement from the Plc Board in respect Resolution 12, adjourned from the 2013 AGM.

I am aware that the Board have all the required documentation provided by the Res12 requisitioners, which clearly provides the CEO with the ” smoking gun” he asked them to supply him with…..

I look forward to the forthcoming statement and hopefully hearing that our board will be taking positive steps to restore integrity and fair governance within Scottish Football…

    Yours Sincerely

Just scrolled back As you mention it is important that a large volume of demands are submitted to our Company Secretary in advance of Wednesday’s AGM from shareholders and other supporters. If it has to be in the form of emails to JP Taylor for transmission to Michael Nicholson, then so be it.

I hope that as many as possible print out your excellent summation from earlier and circulate to others at the AGM. If we are serious about exposing the “honest mistakes” of Regan et al then we must stand solidly behind the Requisitioners in ensuring that the Board pursue the matter.
