Do you like our new lightweight template? There’s a lot less green and tons more whyte. Like it or not, the whyte template will be here for a wee while, so try to enjoy it.
Ticket arrangements for our game at Ibrox next month were always going to be tasty. With rumour that Rangers were heading for administration, Celtic refused to forward their rivals tickets for the game on 28 December on credit, demanding payment in advance. Rangers found the money after a failed appeal to the better nature of the Celtic board. This proved to be a wise move as only a few weeks later Rangers were in administration leaving a trail of unpaid debts to other clubs in their wake, but an awkward situation was likely to follow with Rangers (in administration) looking to reciprocate with payment terms.
Celtic are good for the credit, but if they pay for tickets, what’s the chance Rangers will survive long enough to fulfil the fixture?
None of us are in a position to tell, but Celtic cannot sell tickets to their own supporters in the chance that Rangers will not honour them. If Rangers are still in business, I expect a busy few days leading up to the fixture as cash and tickets are transferred.
And to think we’ve listened to all the ‘Old Firm conspiracy’ theories all these years….. didn’t turn out that way after all.
Really pleased to see STV picked up on our story of last week on the potential improper registration of players and managed to get an anonymous quote from the SFA suggesting “that if conclusive evidence can be produced, the Scottish FA could launch a wider investigation into the conduct of the club”.
“Could”! This story has now been reported by several mainstream media outlets. It looks like the SFA will have to be dragged into examining this by Uefa. Embarrassingly, they are likely to conclude an inquiry into Rangers next week without reference to the 10,000lb gorilla (as No Surrender Johnston would say) in the room.
There are now serious questions of corporate governance at the association, something the chief exec was keen to avoid. If the SFA do initiate an inquiry into the multiple contract allegation, they should start by asking some of the guys who have arrived at Ibrox from continental Europe. I hear Joachim Bjorklund, a decent defender who signed his only Rangers contract in 1996, is still working in the game.

Tooting Tim,
Paul67 may restricted to what he can say about the blogs unplanned maintenance shutdown.
Welcome back CQN!
I agree with Rebuswad, this is miles better/faster for the iPad.
Welcome back CQN – looking good.
Guess I picked a good day to be offline. The 16:45 liquidation story wasn’t true then? Pity.
Great to see the blog back Paul.
Keep ’em coming.
RaspberrySauce
Delighted your all back in my life (big lurker). Thanks Paul I was becomming worried.

Less is more
Hail Hail
Hi Paul67,
Surely there is a straightforward answer to this with no risk to Celtic, or indeed Rangers. Celtic should indeed pay up front for the tickets but ensure that the payment is in an ESCROW Account. Should the game go ahead Rangers will be paid and can even use the fact that the money is in an ESCROW Account to help their funding of the game. Should the game not go ahead the money should be returned to Celtic. Simple and fair to both parties; as is the Celtic way!
Good work on getting the BLOG back up by the way! I like a lot of other Celtic Supporters have found myself getting withdrawal symptoms even although CQN has been down less than 24 hours.
Yours in Celtic,
TB&F.
Woo Hoo! At last……
I was already in a cold sweat with panic, what else would I do with my day….. :-)
conference all day asked P67 to keep it down till I was back… o))
Cool Quick News
or could it be the end of stretchy pages
Welcome back CQN. You were missed.
I like the new look but could the font size of posters’ blog names be increased perhaps?
Noticed a typo Paul67
Shouldn’t ‘No Surrender Johnston” be “Surrender?, No!” Johnston? ;-)
Hello CQN. Where you bin? You look somehow different.
Welcome back !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Was missing my fix of administration “blues”…
Hail Hail
Logical
I have been enjoying the Charlie Mulgrew goal against Dunfermline on Ash Wednesday, courtesy of a helpful link on the BBC Scotland website.
If you pause it after six seconds and edge it on, you see the ball leave Charlie’s foot and fly into the net. The point is that during that critical passage of play, the entire Dunfermline team is in the shot. Every single one of them.
Goals through shots from distance against ridiculously negative teams? More of them, please.
And I-Phone friendly too.
Well done Paul.
P.s Please use link creator folks…
Are we back as NEWCO CQN :)
Awww my e-lites have gone. Better nip out and buy some real cigs.
Paul67, well done Sir.
HH
Many thanks Paul – you changed the look of the blog just for my birthday
hail \o/ hail
Commiserations to big Dan on receiving such a bad injury at such an exciting time.
Get well soon, big mhan.
Paul;
Like the whyte stuff.
Was there a press conference at Ibrox today or was it a rumour.
Árd Macha
You never miss the water until the well runs dry.
Having our only REAL source of Celtic information closed down, only makes us realise how much we rely on CQN.
I simply want to thank Paul for the efforts he puts into giving us this gift.
Paul67,
Good to have the site back online, I think the Shining Light has disturbed the real cockroaches, it means you are not missing the real targets. Keep up the excellent work in exposing them.
Paul67
I guess Andrew from Belfast worked very hard on the new project.
Keep the good work Andrew.
Shortbread reporting that the Ibrokes players had a vote about deferring wages; 7 out of 22 said no in the secret ballot, so that’s that.
Also Brian Kennedy saying talk of him taking over is bluster.
Welcome back Paul, site looks much easier to read now, excellent.
Paul67
Love the new site its smooth and loads like a dream
Hail hail
lovely new format Paul much better for android.
anyway lets get back to those huns. our man whyte is putting together his case to sue bbc via edi law firm. figure quoted 300k. seems pointless after just pocketing all those millions
Je Suis….,

They’ll never beat us!
Like the new look , glad the site is back up and running!
Good to see the blog up and running agian Paul
Celtic are correct to refuse the money up front ,pay them when the fixture has been played ..not before .
hail hail
I was going through Cold Turkey today…
However, although a certain guy called Lennon told us about Instant Karma, I think we are all goiing to have to be patient about this Hun thing. I going to happen tho’.
PS: so sorry to hear about Big Dan, he was good for us, but unlucky. He may have played his last game for us. Bon courage for the recovery, dan!
VP-With the blog down, you must have thought your right hand was cut off……….so to speak.
Glad CQN is back! You always appreciate something even more when it’s taken away from you!!
Je Suis Neil Lennon on 28 February, 2012 at 18:16 . Me also. 50 today. How about you?
