Do you like our new lightweight template? There’s a lot less green and tons more whyte. Like it or not, the whyte template will be here for a wee while, so try to enjoy it.
Ticket arrangements for our game at Ibrox next month were always going to be tasty. With rumour that Rangers were heading for administration, Celtic refused to forward their rivals tickets for the game on 28 December on credit, demanding payment in advance. Rangers found the money after a failed appeal to the better nature of the Celtic board. This proved to be a wise move as only a few weeks later Rangers were in administration leaving a trail of unpaid debts to other clubs in their wake, but an awkward situation was likely to follow with Rangers (in administration) looking to reciprocate with payment terms.
Celtic are good for the credit, but if they pay for tickets, what’s the chance Rangers will survive long enough to fulfil the fixture?
None of us are in a position to tell, but Celtic cannot sell tickets to their own supporters in the chance that Rangers will not honour them. If Rangers are still in business, I expect a busy few days leading up to the fixture as cash and tickets are transferred.
And to think we’ve listened to all the ‘Old Firm conspiracy’ theories all these years….. didn’t turn out that way after all.
Really pleased to see STV picked up on our story of last week on the potential improper registration of players and managed to get an anonymous quote from the SFA suggesting “that if conclusive evidence can be produced, the Scottish FA could launch a wider investigation into the conduct of the club”.
“Could”! This story has now been reported by several mainstream media outlets. It looks like the SFA will have to be dragged into examining this by Uefa. Embarrassingly, they are likely to conclude an inquiry into Rangers next week without reference to the 10,000lb gorilla (as No Surrender Johnston would say) in the room.
There are now serious questions of corporate governance at the association, something the chief exec was keen to avoid. If the SFA do initiate an inquiry into the multiple contract allegation, they should start by asking some of the guys who have arrived at Ibrox from continental Europe. I hear Joachim Bjorklund, a decent defender who signed his only Rangers contract in 1996, is still working in the game.

Love the new cqn set-up – very swish.
Fingers-crossed that THEY go very soon (tomorrow maybe:¬))
Don’t it always seem to go,
That you don’t know what you’ve got till it’s crashed….
Only hope there’s nothing sinister behind the blog’s problems. Paul, you’re a star. Thanks for everything you’ve given Celtic supporters over the years.
Sad news about Daniel – best wishes, big man.

Don’t like International weeks, one player injured already, no doubt Charlie will play the full 90 mins as well, according to Levine he is only a back up to Bardsley, what planet does he live on, Bardsley better than Charlie, dearie dearie me.
When are the pussy-footing Duff and Phelps wafflers going to be replaced by Hector the Inspector’s professionals?
I’m torn between prolonging the agony for thems and instant gratification.
In fact, if pushed, I’ll just take the instant thingy, merci beaucoup.
Guys, the CQN signed Celtic top for Vanessa raised another £1103.79 via the ebay raffle. This is on top of the £5000 paid by a fantastic CQNer who re-submitted the top after his winning bid. The £1103.79 was audited by Blantyrekev, who knows about these things. I paid the funds into the Vanessa Justgiving page about an hour ago and because I did this I was able to gift aid it, raising another £275.95. Plan to do the draw and announce the winner tonight.
…even if the layout is a little lighter than before…the content is still in full living colour…and in your face…
Hail Hail!
Big Dan’s contract is up in the summer, be interesting to see what the club do with him.
Speedy recovery big man.
Welcome back Paul, can’t believe how slowly today passed without the blog!
Thank God & Yoda we’re back.
Guys,
How do you get your user name in that lovely green colour? :)
A lot easier to read, although when typing a comment, the first line of text is partly covered by cqn banner. Or is it my iphone? Like the ‘Howdy’ when reading comments.
Glad that the Paul finally paid the taxman and we didnt get liquidated.
BUT…… I was brassed off with the site going down exactly when it did. Last night all over the News – as well as Rangers – the police going for Rupert Murdoch’s gullet, Charlotte Church sinking the boot in to the media, spotlight on corrupt politicians, police, etc..
For a wee moment, I thought that this has gone way beyond just Rankers.
I really missed what might have been said on here last night.
glad your all back had nowhere to lurk
today was about to start on the toenails
then remembered i had loads of jelly and
ice cream in fridge now back 2 lurking
thanks Paul:-)
Only just registered then the CQN site went down. I thought i did something wrong. Welcome back. Hail Hail.
Good luck Big Dan. Bloody Internationals. Pretend football
Always ahead of the game.
Welcome to “newco” CQN.
Mort
Dawwell sitting on nettles on SSB :¬)))

With the smaller monikers, it means more fholk will read my posts :D….mibbes?
Excellent work, very easy on the eye, and slick. Bit like myself.
So are we back then?
Or
Could we be back?
HHH HHH UUU. UUU NNN. NNN
STILL ALIVE?
Please tell me they are a busted flush.

So glad to see CQN back – I was beginning to have withdrawal symptoms and had to lurk on Kerrydale Street, RTC and Phil’s site (all excellent and no real hardship) but this is my Celtic home!
When the wife comes in from work and the housework hasn’t been done she doesn’t ask me if I’ve been on Rangers Tax Case all day. She immediately accuses, “You’ve been on that Celtic Quick News all day, haven’t you!”.
So glad to get my excuse back.
Hail! Hail! (I miss the green)
Why do the hun.f.a need to wait for the outcome of the ftt? What has that got to do with side contracts? I smell sh**e
Fantastic new look paul
HH
Paul67 – glad to see you’re back – well done to all concerned.
Thanks to TET for the email ‘heads-up’ – managed to stop the company IT guy coming round to look at the problem! :-)
Joachim Bjorklund?????????????????????????????????????????
Hhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!!!
Is this new look a consequence of the “problems” besetting CQN today? I haven’t been able to log on all day. Have things been sorted?
More importantly, have they gone to the wall yet?
Happy Tuesday all.
Paul67 – Hope all is well and you got some shut eye over last 24hrs.
Listening to Clyde, God help me. Torture.
interesting story about Brian Kennedy. He clearly has no interest in purchasing them and has no doubt pitched up to gloss an otherwise gloomy picture. Having said that, rumour has it that Kennedy did do some business – Lee McCulloch will make the long-anticipated move from association football to rugby football by moving to Sale Sharks. Lee, who is 59 next month, is ecstatic declaring “I’ve always said my skills were locked in my upper limbs.” Indeed, watch for him at lineouts…

Excellent news, and as luck would have it, just about as you added the funds, the target of £500k was reached. Now stands at:
Raised so far: £500725.54

Brilliant, just brilliant.
Take a bow BRTH, you put in so much work to get this target reached.
Hail hail

San Diego Bhoy
Looks like me and Mrs RWE are going to San Fran in June.
Be good to hook up.

Levein saying Charlie is backup to Bardsley is proof enough that there is a question mark over his nous as a coach. He watches Charlie every week, can he not get it in his thick skull just how good this kid is and will continue to be?
TET,@ 18.38
I’m glad levein is thinking like that ,the our players play for them the better,
(less likely to come back injured).

Only the elite of CQN can have a green name. :-)

Bjorkland and de Boer mentioned already with the ‘two contracts…’ allegedly. That’s a lot of games to be looked at if proved.
Something stinks – Darryl King is making sense???
