SFA finally acknowledge Rangers EBT issue

1494

Stewart Regan today gave a welcome update on the SFA’s on-going investigation into Rangers.  In response to Hugh Adam’s comments in today’s Daily Mail, Regan said:

“We are, however, aware of the most recent allegations made against Rangers FC today by a former director of the club. We shall investigate this matter thoroughly before making any further comment.”

SFA president, Campell Ogilvie, was general secretary and director of Rangers from 1978 until 2005. News broke about HMRC’s dispute over Rangers Employment Benefit Trust in 2010, you knew then, I knew then, the SFA knew then, but Ogilvie was subsequently elevated to the role of SFA president in 2011.  He is still on the SFA board.

We have waited almost two years the hear the SFA would investigate this matter. Now, with all the old certainties crumbling down around them, they realise they must act.

Can I be the first to congratulate Dundee FC on winning the Scottish Cup in 2003.

  7. As we await news from down Ibrox way.Does anyone know if Celtic have investigated any further about the disparity in policing costs at home games. From memory it was Celtic paying some £30,000 per game and Rangers were being charged around £20,000.I assume if Celtic don’t get the answers they want they can go higher with it.

Paul, lazy journalism sir. Their correct title is Rangers FC (in administration)! Please report factually or go work for the Record!

Superb posts for the past few weeks or so,

RTC tweeting post with Stewart Regan was also superb, if you haven’t read it, then do.

I make no apologies to offer once again, hearty congratulations to all the leading folks in timternetland who have devoted their time and energy and probably their own cash, in their endeavours to out the horribles. There must be a book in all of this, Ironic that it takes a tim, to tell the huns about their troubles.

  17. Awe Naw,

I have the 1989 annual report and the accounts were signed off by Grant Thornton, I’m trying to get a copy of the 1990 annual report but as of yet no joy.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I hate it when Keevins bangs on about, the “honour” with which, Sneaky & Watty carried TB’s coffin. Furthermore….the day that, Tommy Burns crossed the ‘line’ and, joined up with the Sectarian FA, I felt this spooky feeling almost like someone had walked over my grave.

Sneeky & Wattie’s tainted mitt’s should have been, NOWHERE near TB’s coffin! IMO!

You are unlikely to get a reply. I wrote to them twice by recorded delivery to get answers as to how a licence was granted when the wee tax case was clearly unpaid.

I must do a follow up because although they might not answer it does make them aware that the public are looking for answers.

PS Is it Augean stables or Styggian stables or where there two filthy stables for Hercules to wash out?

  23. Lads this is torture trying to keep up lol.

My own opinion would be to get UEFA involved because i do not trust this lot one bit.

  24. Can I ask what the face value is for League Cup Final tickets folks? Have paid £90 via a ticket website. Know they are a rip off but never been to a Cup Final and me and a mate are travelling up from London for the day. Had to book flights and didn’t want to be chasing tickets.

been singing ” my way ” all morning, the first line says it all.

here’s another few ditties we could sing along to as slip further in to the fires of hell.

walls come tumbling down : style council

    the end : the doors

the end of the world : rem

death is not the end : nick cave and bad seeds

    dignity : deacon blue

    highway to hell : AC/DC

nobody’s fault but mine : Led

If you can sing along to some of these or your own choices, whilst clicking your heals it’s really theraputic. Albeit some of them are more like funeral music.

And a wee hymn for MIDFIELD MAESTRO

This is the day that the lord has sent.

    PC67

  27. Lhads,

Whatever has happened Walter and Ally were pals of TB and while we have a lot to get at them for I would prefer to leave TB and his funeral alone. Just my opinion.
