SFA giving lectures on accountability

1464

Fifa is unfit for purpose, investigations abound but we’ve not seen convictions yet.  The president has not been arrested, but, well, he has president over this enormous shambles, yet he refuses to resign.  His resignation is needed to relieve the reputation of Fifa, the reputation of football itself.  We all know this, but SFA chef exec, Stewart Regan said as much.

The SFA is Blatter’s role model.  Regan conceded SFA president Campbell Ogilvie was horribly conflicted, as the Association dealt with the consequences of the biggest directorial negation of duty in Scottish football history – by Ogilvie, who was director and company secretary of the dysfunctional board.

Ogilvie never resigned.  Ogilvie has still not resigned.  Regan said nothing.  Ogilvie’s supporters in the game rallied round, just as Blatter’s have today.

This is how human nature works.  Ogilvie has been in enough committee meetings, pressed enough flesh, to ensure that despite the slaying he took at the hands of Lord Nimmo Smith’s SPL inquiry, he could brass it out.  Accountability at the SFA does not exist.  I get it.  But, the SFA cannot have the audacity to make moralistic statements about the corporate accountability of others.

It is a depressing feature of Scottish life that we don’t have a culture of accountability, that the media are not sufficiently plural that such hypocrisy is exposed for what it is, that there isn’t a single elected representative prepared to disengage with the Scottish establishment on this today.

The new media are not there yet.  We don’t have the authority of a broadcaster or politician to demand, and get, accountability.  That’ll change in time.

Being naturally suspicious, I think all this FIFA nonsense is a massive squirrel to divert public attention from what is about to happen tonight in the Steel Men/Steal Men match.

A number of Mad Men in Black will ensure that 500 million folk on God’s Blue planet will be assured that all is well on Planet FitBa’ Ecosse.

All will be well, and it’s as you were for 15/16 after the unfortunate 3-year HIATUS.

I hear that Steven McManus’s standards have dropped considerably….. so much so that he is only liable to give one good game per season…

Well tonight’s ur night big man.

    He’s sold plenty this season….

    Bada,

    I knows.

I said from day 1 the doonhamers were the biggest threat to them.

It’ll take something inspired for that to change imo.

I agree mate, timing is all in actions like that, especially ones that are strategic to our Club & Fan base.me and you are Celtic, not the board.and 100 years from now the ‘aye but’ nonsense will still be farted out.

I just hope the ‘stand alone’ stuff extends to any form of interaction between our club and the cheat.

and that means any form of commercial interaction.I want nowt to do with them.

    doin good mate.

    hail hail :-)

Over the last couple of days it would appear that there has been an awful lot of optimistic presumptious noises coming out in support of Triggers Broom FC. Couldn’t resist a few shillings on Motherwell when they were 11/4. Just seen that they’re now out to 4/1 so a further modest investment might be required.

Motherwell are pretty gash. But they have the Premiership place and are visiting the team that finished 15th in Scotland this season.

So,yes my interest lies with the team that’s always been a favourite of Peter Green – https://youtu.be/O8RhZDGLEXM

Corkcelt, no they wouldnt. They were not a new club on liquidation day. They were nothing. Look back at every back page from that day. They were pronounced dead.

Celtic should have twistes the knife and driven home the message that anything emerging from the ibrox crypt would not be the old “very recently deceased” rangers.

In the days after they, their support and our bent authorities were too busy crying to have objected.

Celtic blew the one chance they had to kill the chance of the same club lies.

ACGR, Hiya Pal, If Celtic had issued a measured Statement declaring them a new entity they would have screamed blue bloody murder and demanded a declaration from the SFA stating that they were in fact the same Club. They would have got it too.

Celtic could issue a note to shareholders Corkcelt,or privately to their fans.they still could.nothing to stop them,in some ways tho any form of comment is seized upon by the cheat and squinted accordingly by the meejah loo rolls(sales plummeting) as talking about RIPLC,good or bad the cheat likes any chat about their fraud as necks are not brass but carbon lol

hope the holiday went well :-)

  12. The boy Erwin at Motherwell…does anyone know if he is a wide player or a striker.?

I don’t know enough about the Motherwell squad, but Baraclough shud follow the Ronny formula.

I’d go with big Sutton up top… Skippy in the Johansen / Commons role.

Erwin wide left and someone with pace wide right….. Stephen Pearson and Lasley shoring up the middle of the park.

    Mon the well !

  13. does anyone have any news/reports/film of Walturds speech last sunday at a football awards dance.?
