SFA lawyers examine illegal registration responses

1119

BBC today revealed that the SFA’s legal team are examining responses from the Associations 93 clubs to a letter dated 9 March, which reminded clubs of their responsibility to record financial records with the SFA and asking them to declare they have complied over the last 10 years.

The inquiry was established after reports that Rangers had illegally registered players for over a decade, excluding payments which were not taxed.  We can presume that as the legal team are investigating, there was at least one response which returned a noncompliance.

The SFA issued a deadline for responses of 6 April and under Article 86.1 any club not responding in a timely manner would be in breach, so it’s unclear why it has taken over two months to get to this stage, so why the legal team are only “examining responses”.

We look forward to hearing an early comment on this crucial matter from the executive.  It is enormously unfortunate that the SFA were unable to inform their AGM of the findings on Wednesday. BBC report that the Association legal team have yet to report to the Compliance Officer, which is the next step.

So the Huns are talking to Gattuso about a contract when they are in administration and under a transfer ban.

They just expect everyone to roll over and let them off. Can’t pay their bills but will consider £10 k per week on a new player.

If they come back as a newclub would the transfer ban till apply?

Also, what happens to the player’s registrations?

Celtic star Victor Wanyama wants a summer switch to England

Jun 9 2012 By Mark Guidi

Francisco Sandaza of St Johnstone and Victor Wanyama of Celtic

francisco sandaza of st johnstone and victor wanyama of celtic

CELTIC were hit with a hammer blow last night when it emerged Victor Wanyama wants to land a summer switch to England.

Record Sport can reveal the Hoops midfielder feels he has already enhanced his reputation enough in the past 12 months in Scotland to earn a big money move to the glamour of England’s top flight.

And it’s understood several top Premier League sides already have the versatile powerhouse on their summer shopping lists.

The Hoops signed the Kenya international from Belgian side Beerschot AC last summer for £900,000 and he joined on a four-year deal at ‘entry level’ wages.

He was outstanding for Neil Lennon’s side last term as they romped to the SPL title and his employers feel his value has rocketed to more than £7million.

Celtic will, of course, try everything in their power to keep him but the player is adamant he wants to go for footballing reasons.

The English vultures may, however, face a fight from clubs in Italy to land the talented 20-year-old star.

He has a fine reputation in Serie A because of his brother, McDonald Mariga, who plays for Inter Milan.

Record Sport can reveal Italian champs Juventus would be keen to bid for Wanyama but they have been informed his preference is a move to England.

He sees himself as a central midfielder but feels he may well be moved around by Lennon to accommodate others such as skipper Scott Brown and Beram Kayal.

Last season he played several games in central defence and although he was a stand-out in that area, it’s not his favoured position.

A friend of Wanyama’s said last night: “Victor has told a few of his international

team-mates he believes he is moving to the English Premiership this summer. He wants to play in England.

“He has sometimes felt undervalued but he really enjoyed last season at Celtic and it was an honour and privilege for him to help them win the league title.

“He also felt he built up a special relationship with the Celtic supporters.

“Victor hopes they can understand his reasons for wanting to leave.”

  6. The Victor comments sound like a play by his agent to bump up his wages.

This will happen given Celtic’s (sensible) policy of buying promising youngsters and sticking them on a small wage. If they do well, they will want an increase asap.

I’d expect Victor to get his pay rise and maybe be sold for big bucks next summer.

  17. Morning,

All out civil war in hunland. Lovely Jubbly…

Many Ibrox fans remain wary and that

anxiety was given a voice by Murray, whose

consortium thought they had bought the club

only for Duff & Phelps, who are under

    investigation by the Insolvency Practitioners

Association, to suddenly opt for Green.

“Why are we allowing [to take control of the

club] a guy with no Rangers affinity and who

is not prepared to disclose any details of his

bid?” Murray said. “The fact that he has

been brought to the table by Duff & Phelps,

who have a lot to answer for, should

concern every Rangers fan. The whole

    process, including the recent ludicrous

comments by Craig Whyte, needs a thorough

investigation. He is deluded and the fans will

never forget his shameful role in the

    problems the club face.

“The supporters should not buy season

tickets until they know what they are being

asked to buy in to. The club is now at a

crossroads and we should not allow Duff &

Phelps to determine our future. We need to

have the club’s destiny determined by

‘Bluenoses’ who will look after the club and

not more investors who are focused on

global branding rather than the reality of

    Scottish football.”

  18. Magnificentseven

Totally agree mate. Most on here see right through them and could probably predict what is coming next from them. It amazes me that Celtic supporters buy it but their sales are plunging just like the fortunes of their favourite club.

  19. Dundee Utd chairman confirms ‘we dont need no stinkin rangers!’

“We need clarity sooner rather than

    later,” said Thompson, with reference

to the situation at the Ibrox club. “I

think that will probably come to a

head next week with the CVA. That

will start to dictate things. As things

stand, Rangers are in the league next

year. That may all change depending

on the CVA. But all the public spats

have been very damaging, there’s no

doubt. A lot of people are fed up.

“Of course, you can survive without

them [Rangers]. It might be a slightly

different financial model, but you can

survive without them. Whether that is

    what everyone wants is another

    thing.
