BBC today revealed that the SFA’s legal team are examining responses from the Associations 93 clubs to a letter dated 9 March, which reminded clubs of their responsibility to record financial records with the SFA and asking them to declare they have complied over the last 10 years.
The inquiry was established after reports that Rangers had illegally registered players for over a decade, excluding payments which were not taxed. We can presume that as the legal team are investigating, there was at least one response which returned a noncompliance.
The SFA issued a deadline for responses of 6 April and under Article 86.1 any club not responding in a timely manner would be in breach, so it’s unclear why it has taken over two months to get to this stage, so why the legal team are only “examining responses”.
We look forward to hearing an early comment on this crucial matter from the executive. It is enormously unfortunate that the SFA were unable to inform their AGM of the findings on Wednesday. BBC report that the Association legal team have yet to report to the Compliance Officer, which is the next step.

D&P will be paid, they will get their cut from the £8.5 million that Green is allegedly putting in. I believe footballing debt will be paid, they will get their cut being a preferred creditor and what is left will get split between the remaining creditors. However, as is normal practice in the circumstances creditors will challenge D&P’s fees. Not just for these reasons but there is no chance of a CVA being agreed.

On the CVA proposal. It has been said that if it were agreed, they would be back to square one when the FTT announce their result. They will not be back at square one.
Something that irks me and I have posted this before. The BTC has not been quantified in the proposal but this has been declared as being owed by HMRC; this is fact and is owed. All that has to be confirmed are the penalties and interest. I am unsure what the BTC was but it is in the region of £28 million; this figure has to be added to ALL declared figures quoted in the proposal. The proposal records that HMRC are owed £21,376,767.00.
For the purposes of the CVA it should record that HMRC are owed circa £49 million; this is the figure that HMRC will have to considered when making their decision on whether they accept CVA.
If HMRC accept the CVA with or without the BTC figure recorded they will be accepting circa £4.5 million for everything they are owed; this is based on 9p in the £1. However, if D&P are paid £5.5 million and the football creditors their money the £4.5 million will become considerably less.
Conclusion:
Do I think HMRC will accept maximum of £4.5 million for a debt of £49 million when Green stuffs away season ticket money in an ESCROW account and pockets money from the sale of new players, Sky money etc. I do not think so, they can and will realise more by liquidating and selling assets.

I must admit the only time I came across Paul Harvey was I was driving across the States, or to be more accurate, when I was somewhere out in the sticks. If I am not mistaken he was always on what we call over here as the medium wave, but what is known over there as AM radio, a wavelength also popular with what I would call religious folks. As you know, if you drive any distance, you will lose the AM station you were listening to, only to be replaced by another, usually from a town called Elkton, a town with more churches than schools, or something like that. Anyways, the only constant on your travels in the good ol’ USA, was the idiosyncratic views of Paul Harvey himself, a voice you would never lose, no matter how far you travelled, or at least until you reached Philadelphia!
