Rangers administrators have today gone to the Court of Session in an attempt to overturn the recent disciplinary action imposed on the club by the SFA. Paul Clark said:
“The Club started proceedings at the Court of Session today in an attempt to challenge the imposition by an SFA Judicial Panel of a player signing embargo.
“The process will continue at the court on Tuesday and it is the Club’s position that the Judicial Panel did not have the powers to impose such a sanction.
“The Club and the administrators are grateful for the support of the Rangers Fighting Fund on this matter.”
It is prohibited by Fifa for a club to take its association to the civil courts. Fifa rules dictate that the national association must expel any club which takes this action. In December last year the international body threatened to expel the Swiss FA from world football unless it set a deadline to expel Sion after the club took action in its local civil court.
This action can surely only be to provoke the SFA into bringing this sorry saga to an end by kicking them out of the game before Duff and Phelps are forced to padlock the doors due to their own failures.
Unfortunately, President What-school-did-you-go-to is still in residence at the SFA, so it’s unlikely that we will see any clear action from Hampden to calm supporters of other clubs or the Scotland national team.

Expel them from Scottish football once and for all. I don;t care of it is for the contract, the tax fraud or for the court case, Any or all of them will do for me.
And once they are expelled the SPL share reverts to the League. The decision then is whether to promote Dundee or let Dunfermline stay up.
Simples.
Paul67,
Do you really think the SFA will kick them out???
More like we’ll out be out of Europe.
On the face of it this is a breathtakingly stupid own goal.
However if you are the secured creditor, and you stand to gain in a massive way financially should the place go into full liquidation, but you have an unbalanced unhinged customer base ready to rip your throat out should you deliver the killing blow, you would want someone, anyone to do it for you.
If that is your goal this is a master stroke.
If the SFA do not expel them, somebody should table a motion for the 30th May to expel them from the SPL with immediate effect for their actions that are threatening European and International participation of member clubs and their continued negligence and delinquence in providing requested materials regarding the 2nd contracts.
Goodbye Bears
I really cannot believe those barstewards!,
Are Duff and Duffer just trying to have the option of turning of the Orcs life support taken out of their hands to try and save their brass neck?
Like Hitler in the bunker right ennuf…a delusion of infinite power decides to destroy itself & thereby preserve its delusion- Rankers have just taken the cyanide pill.
Glasgow moving closer to Derry?
This is Sion all over again and the SFA will have to terminate their license or see the National team banned.
This is it bhoys…
25th May 2012. Jelly & Ice Cream Day!!!
surely Celtic can’t sit back and allow these hun morons to put our hard won champions league place under threat?
and rfc have surely alienated the likes of Hearts, Dundee United and Motherwell now with their shameless actions?
looking more and more suicidal with every passing minute
Did Sion get expelled from the swiss league ?
ASonOfDan – good point. If they are disputing the panel’s ability to impose a transfer embargo (although it clearly states they have power to apportion whatever punishment they deem appropriate) as it is not specifically stated as a punishment, the one specifically stated is expulsion. Unless they seriously believe there should be no punishment.
Thank Ghod for the “fighting fund” . The very peepil themselves have made it possible for the establishment team to invite extinction. How ironic.
This is great news. Fines are irrelevant to them, transfer embargos are too good for them and division 3 is too good for them.
Gordon_J backing Neil Lennon
It was already decided relegation would remain and Dundee would be promoted if no rangers next season.
Paul67 –
The marathon has just turned into the 100 metre sprint.
The more desperate they get, the more they cheat …
Rangers FC (In Administration) are openly committing footballing suicide? On 25 May?! On a scale of one to jelly and ice cream, truly there is no number big enough to measure the scale of karma at work here…
BADA BING 1600
Marvellous.
Hopefully, our wee impromptu ad slot the other day did the trick!
A man with your experience offering to undertake a FIRE RISK ASSESSMENT?
That would work for me every time if I owned a business, especially if I was unaware of that legal /insurance
requirement.
Anyway, there’s a wee horse that was running in Class 6 races not that long ago over sprint distances, and then lo and behold it suddenly got the hang of it.
VP noticed it,so did I,we both seem to have backed it over the summer-starting at 22/1-and that fly bassa got in quick at the start of the NAPS compy when it was at 10s.
I naturally backed a loser instead.
My children are now in care, and I call a cardboard box my best friend and my home.
While he quaffs Perroni……….
Somebody call wee eck Salmond quick! The huns have just set fire to the fabric of Scottish society!
Seems like a rather convoluted way to get yourselves kicked out the league, likes.
As I’m not personally involved, can I just express my thanks on behalf of the Bar to the rankers fighting fund. I have no doubt whatsoever that whoever is instructed will utilise the funds to the full.
Keep that money rolling in bears!!!
musters – well they have tried everything else and nobody has been willing to pull the trigger….
For info. re judicial review:
“Judicial review involves a challenge to the legal validity of the decision. It
does not allow the court of review to examine the evidence with a view to forming
its own view about the substantial merits of the case. It may be that the tribunal
whose decision is being challenged has done something which it had no lawful
authority to do. It may have abused or misused the authority which it had. It
may have departed from the procedures which either by statute or at common
law as matter of fairness it ought to have observed. As regards the decision itself
it may be found to be perverse or irrational, or grossly disproportionate to what
was required. Or the decision may be found to be erroneous in respect of a legal
deficiency, as for example, through the absence of evidence, or of sufficient
evidence to support it, or through account being taken of irrelevant matter, or
through a failure for any reason to take account of a relevant matter, or through
some misconstruction of the terms of the statutory provision which the decision-
maker is required to apply. But while the evidence may have to be explored in
order to see if the decision is vitiated by such legal deficiencies it is perfectly
clear that in a case of review, as distinct from ordinary appeal, the court may not
set about forming its own preferred view of the evidence.”
The Tribunal had lawful authority to do what it did. The appeal panel decided the sanction was appropriate. Lord Glennie will deal with this in his sleep.
Does that mean we can drop the Glasgow now?

Must be the sun but a part of me actually feels a wee bit sorry for your semi decent bare because their club has just been gave a lethal injection. The drug just needs to work its way to the heart and stop it.
Pointless, stupid stupid action to take today, after an independent appeal.
BMCUW-Cheers mate,VP keeps his cards close to his chest :>
Jock:
Karma only does symmetry- God is after all the great mathematician:
Rangers number has just been called up.
Rather than a suicidal move, I would suggest it is brinkmanship – Duff and co. have nothing to lose. Their preferred buyer doesn’t want to buy them if he can’t sign any players, he is not interested in owning a Division 3 club. He is there because he believes they will be in the SPL, penalty free and able to sign players. If he believes that it is because he has been told that is the likely outcome.
The legal fees are being picked up by the Fighting Fund so the creditors aren’t any worse off than before.
I do not expect the SPl or the SFA to punish them any further than they have already. UEFA will continue to show a complete disregard. If the dual contracts didn’t get them involved nothing will.
Snake Plissken on 25 May, 2012 at 15:53 said: Someone once said everything happens for a reason. We shook our heads in disbelief at Sion and their bampot president.
Funny how these things come back around when Dead Parrot FC think they are still allowed to do what they like.
Expel the cheats (and make them start again at the bottom.)
It’s for the good of the game in Scotland at large now.
Bang goes the TV argument.
Morons, the lot of them
Delete all in brackets and we are in agreement.

Never forget Duff and Duffer are not self-employed. Who is telling them what to do? Who ever it is, they are playing with fire.
I don’t understand why they are attempting to overturn a ban on signing players when they have no money to buy players with in any case. Furthermore, which player worthy of the job description would sign for a club that may have ceased to exist before it plays another game?
Why are the SFA waiting until the outcome of the hearing on Tuesday? D&P have already crossed the line by initiating a court action against the association, which is against the rules. The SFA should, today, be convening a disciplinary hearing to consider this breach, the outcome of which should be clear. There should be no delay to see what happens at the CoS, that is irrelevant in terms of RFCiA’s membership of the SFA.
RogueLeader – I don’t understand how comes they can’t pull it themselves like what thommo suggests in his recent piece.
malceye:
At the endof the day, when all is said and done, when the dust settles and somebody cleans the fouled fan, all they are doing is subsidising the judges ball.
BigChips: Maybe someone daft like Saluko, who will actually pay to join that lot …
It is Craig Whyte who appointed them who is calling the shots.
ulysses mcghee (16:17): “Does that mean we can drop the Glasgow now?”
Surely it means that we can drop the “Celtic” now?
The huns are obviously in a desperate situation: if an act can be the measure of desperation then the huns have just cracked the buld on the desperado meter…whoooooosh!
Monaghan
I concur.
ps do you know malceye?
Stange move by the hun… strange, it is almost as though they don’t want to win???
