SFL delivers as SPL Ltd facing insolvency

1374

The Scottish Football League today placed an upper limit on which division Sevco can play in next season – their Third.  We must now wait on the company providing sufficient information to complete their application to the SFL and for membership of the Scottish FA.  Although many Rangers fans want Sevco to join the Third Division, chief exec Charles Green was clearly hoping to start life higher up the food chain.

The overwhelming nature of this verdict indicates the solidarity between clubs and fans, throughout the divisions, on how our sport is governed.  This is a good thing but it leaves one burning question on the table:

Is the Scottish Premier League insolvent?

Last week SPL chief exec Neil Doncaster told SFL clubs that the Premier League would be unable to meet its contractual obligations if they did not vote Sevco into the First Division.  Unless this was a shameless lie designed to bully clubs into giving Doncaster what he wanted, the Scottish Premier League Ltd should seek to appoint an administrator without delay.

You can ignore comments about league reconstruction at some unspecified point in the future, Doncaster told us last year that “those who want 16 teams in the top flight are deluding themselves.”

The Scottish Football League does not need the SPL, or its money, to continue to thrive as a community-based sporting entity.  They will flourish.  What happens to the SPL remains to be seen.

As we have observed once or twice before, M. Platini, where are you?  We need the football world to assist with the survival of the game in one of its historic heartlands.

In watching the density and denial over Govan way , i’m inclined to view the fools like Wildebeest .. So aptly described by Billy Connolly. As in, the animal is SO dumb, so vacant, it cannot see the crocodile or lion 2 feet away.. !! It’s consumed before its legs stop running..

Newco if they ever appear( ha) could be Wildebeest FC.. Even has Beest in the title.

  3. Been discussing Sevco budget for next season. They need a big draw in next round of the Ramdens Cup.

Match against bitter rivals, Raith, would help.

Asked this question last week while on holiday in Rome. What will Celtic do to replace the 2 games against Sevco for my son’s Opt In season ticket? Answer from ticket office “Celtic reviewed the situation, no refund, Club 12 games apply”. Shocking decision to charge a 13 year old £70 for 2 games against Club 12.

Ole Sky Sports would like to apologise to all subscribers for wrongly advertising they could watch Rangers in 3D.

  7. What exactly is Ogilvie Campbell doing at this time.

I can’t believe he has not been forcibly removed now. Not a tweet or twirp out of him whilst Scottish Football has been put through turmoil for months, you would think he was actually dead.

Get that masonic scum removed from the Scottish game before he does any more damage.

  8. so , the doomsday scenario is upon us. By doomsday scenario, I assume Regan and Doncaster were referring to the day when they got found out.

This is unraveling at a rate of knots and there is more to come. I honestly expected the SPL 2 card to be played by now, but it`s still only 5pm.

I am surprised that the SFL guys stood firm, I stand corrected, well played all of them. Anyone know which club voted for expulsion?

Now we need to see the response from the dynamic duo, will they go? will they feck. If they leave now they are finished as senior administrators of sport, they have to hang around and try to save face.difficult for them now.

Next up is the appelate tribunal and the ebt enquiry, this is where the two stooges could restore their reputation, anyone think they will?

THe SFL have behaved like ole musk oxen today, standing shoulder to shoulder in solidarity and refusing to be cowed and bullied by the circling predators.
