SFO, IPO, hell will freeze before SFA act

1068

An appropriate course of action when you are the chairman or a non-executive director of a PLC when a fellow director and, until last week, chief executive, has been reported to the Serious Fraud Office for matters in connection with the company, would be to immediately contact the accuser asking for full and immediate disclosure of information which could materially affect investors and the company’s trading position.

The “compelling evidence that Messrs Green and Ahmad received a letter before claim in December 2012, having received previous correspondence, and chose to ignore it” sounds like a signed-for receipt.  If this was received before 22 December, the date of Rangers International FC PLC’s IPO, it is of critical importance that the board ask for sight of the evidence, irrespective of what Mr Green says about its existence.

This season’s Third Division has nine days to run and it would inconvenience many if these matters were brought to a head before then, but the duty of directors is clear; they cannot postpone attending to the interests of investors until after the football season.

Lawyers acting for RIFC PLC should politely request full disclosure from the other party, without delay.

Some in the SFA may be tempted to attempt another Grand Plan to prepare for and accommodate and almighty collapse at one club.  Grand Plans don’t work in these circumstances; the last one led to the current Lawyers at Dawn scenario.

We await the SFA acting in relation to RIFC PLC’s claim that Sevco 5088 Ltd, a company Craig Whyte is a registered director of, is part of their group.  This is in direct contradiction to an earlier representation made to the SFA, and breaks a condition of their membership of the Association.

Current SFA president, Campbell Ogilvie, is a former Rangers director.  My prediction is that hell will freeze over before he allows the SFA to act on this matter.  The SFA shall wilfully ignore its own rules.

Has the relocation of ST holders from the JS stand, anything to do with accommodating the newly formed Celtic Choir, who have been in training for the past few months?

I remember reading about the wish to ” balance” the singing, by having a choir at the other end of the ground.

    *******

As I read it at the time, I believe the intention is to have a noise coming from both ends of the ground, similar to the responding chants.

However, I ‘m sure they will check the small print with regards who owns the monopoly for making a noise at CP.

I don’t think the intention is to have a divide, more a unity, although traditionaly some will want to split the support. It’s traditional.

I think Rangers response will be along the lines that Craig Whyte has no involvement with the current company.

It will be short and sweet and the SFA will take it at face value and do no more investigations. As always it will be up to others to do any sort of proper investigation.

Charlie Chuckles is not mentioned anywhere, any idea why? I don’t.

So Craigy does not own the mob from Ibrox!

So who did not pay Vat, Income tax and N.I last year?

If there is no company to pay these then it must be up to the Football Club (The The Rangers) to take care of this business. (If Club & Company (who do not exist) are separate then Club must be responsible in my humble opinion. Maybe Internet Lawyers could explain,

The diatribe says that Rangers were fined 10 points that subsequently gave Celtic the League. Celtic clear of Rangers (IA) by 20 points minus 10 points still mean that Celtic won the league without any” HELP” from SPL administrators. (nothing new there)

Big discussions on CQN tonight about games being dictated by TV companies. This was warned about in the 60’s by Celtic chairman Sir Robert Kelly saying that we needed to limit the number of TV games to keep fans coming through the gates. Guess he is being proven correct although his tenure at Celtic wasn’t always jovial.

I am living in Indonesia and the company who have TV rights for Champions League games show the games on their free terrestrial channel and not on the Intelsat version. Owner says football is for the people.

  23. Charles Green could put Rangers out of business – Brown

    Comments (12)

Former Rangers scout John Brown fears the Ibrox club could be put out of business by former chief executive Charles Green.

Green is the subject of an internal investigation over alleged links with former owner Craig Whyte, who still claims he owns the club’s assets.

Brown claimed in July that Green’s consortium did not own the club.

Asked why Green would now attempt to close Rangers, Brown replied: “Well, you better watch developments.”

Brown, now manager of Dundee, was speaking as it emerged that the Serious Fraud Office is being sent a file of “information” by allies of Whyte , who was in control when Rangers entered administration last year.

It was the latest development in a war of words between Green, whose consortium took over Rangers following liquidation, and Whyte over the club’s ownership.

Amid the fallout, Green stood down as chief executive and it has emerged that he intends to sell his shares to Greenock bus tycoon James Easdale.

Brown had fronted a failed alternative bid for the club last summer and famously stood on the steps of Ibrox demanding that Green make public his deeds of ownership.

“What is happening now is proof of what I said last summer”

    John Brown

    Former Rangers coach

“Things that I said at the time are coming to fruition,” he told BBC Radio Scotland’s Sportsound.

“What is happening now is proof of what I said last summer.

“I said one thing, show us the deeds, and that still stands.

“I told certain people at Ibrox. I stood on the steps and I tried to tell everybody and warn everybody, but it [fell] on deaf ears.”

Brown said he left the club after a conversation with the future chief executive.

“I had a good meeting with Charles Green but then packed my bag and gave up my job as a scout, because he said one or two things that made me feel uncomfortable,” he said.

“So I emptied my office and left that day.

“He told me that he had the ultimate sanction to put the club out of business.”

Brown admitted that he had been unable to take the matter further.

“I knew everything that was going on, but I couldn’t substantiate it with proof,” he said.

“I put my head above the parapet. A lot of people didn’t.

“Andy Goram stood by me, one of the very few ex-players who stood by me.

“There’s a number of people within Rangers that, at that period, had conversations with me regards the worry they had for the club, but they never stood by me.

“People wanted facts, they wanted it in writing, ‘show us the proof’. I knew what was going on, I couldn’t show them.

“Out of respect for a very good team-mate of mine in manager Ally McCoist and a very good friend, I took a step back because season tickets were bought and I thought ‘right, let them get on with it’

    SECTION 122 SINGING GROUP…

It has been announced of the possibility of a new singing section in Area 122 of Celtic Park, starting next season. The group has been formed with the purpose of giving the Jock Stein curve more atmosphere, as it all currently comes from 111. The group will NOT be singing with the Green Brigade as ‘Section 122’ are completley AGAINST politics in football. There is going to be a meeting with officals from Celtic Football Club to discuss this new group. Members of all ages are able to join and if you are interested please email section122celtic@gmail.com with your full name and age.
