Don’t give me your ‘slump’ mockery. Just think for a minute, what if this IS our slump? Five league games in 17 days, four of which were won by a single goal is as bad as it’s been since Brendan Rodgers took over as manager.
We have, of course, shuffled the pack. With a hefty nine games this month, Brendan is correct to rest the weary legs which concluded our Champions League group only two weeks ago. He also has a full programme over the festive period to prepare for.
With 20 wins in 21 domestic games this season we’ve won the first trophy, scoring 11 and without conceding. Win our remaining games this month and we’ll be at least 17 clear “and it’s not New Year”. With a game in hand.
Scottish football has never had such a dominant champion, even during the two nine-in-a-row eras. It’s been achieved with largely the same squad as last season, while we were the only team participating in European group competition – and with a sustainable financial model.
I know talk of “slump” is ridiculous, but I bet you’ve already picked up a shift in perception of what is normal for Celtic. Most of us have been around long enough to remember the dark days. Some of us have been around to remember the winter solstice, which lasted from 1954 to 1965, but we’re all susceptible to recent-experience bias.
The collapse of Aberdeen this season robbed us of what competition we had but in compensation, we’re watching a great Celtic team come together. Team development does not happen on a linear plane. It requires risks to be taken and mistakes to be made, but no one is in any doubt about Celtic’s direction of travel.

They would say matters are ongoing etc so wouldn’t answer. I remember BRTH posting in reply to KU attacks on him when he said he doesn’t fall out with folk, doesn’t bad mouth or get into arguments etc – not his style.
That is going to be a valuable asset for us. There are two lawyers on this and they should in my opinion be allowed to get on with it.. Getting each other’s backs up is counter productive. if at the end of it all ( for me that’s when Res 12 boys say it collectively and officially) then we should expect answers to our questions.
I hope that doesn’t happen and have confidence that if anyone can get this over the line for us then BRTH can.

Overall i think the performance levels have dropped a little individually and as a team. Not a big issue and expected due to physical and mental fatigue. Not a criticism, just analysis. I would say that there is not as much speed and intensity in our game, our pressing has dropped off a little, passing is slacker and concentration has dropped off with the odd mistake creeping in. When you factor in lack of continuity with all the changes, it’s totally acceptable. Brendan has said as much and rightly praised the mentality and resilience.

I’ve been pretty much off the blog since Thursday evening and spent a lot of time reading back over today.
There have been a lot of pretty negative posts regarding Paul67 and the “lack of a leader” on Res12; the most insidious from Neganon2 which was eloquently rebuffed by Winning Captains (cannae believe that Neganon2 is a good old bhoy fae the Drum!) so i don’t need to respond to that (except to point out that whatever he says, Neganon2 is direct and unequivocal).
However, there have been a considerable number of poster who, IMHO, have “called out” Paul67 on his lack of response to the Res12 info over the last few days and have not been challenged on it.
The reality is that Paul67 (and WC) put a lot of time and effort into providing this forum for all of rest of us to air our views and pontificate without reservation (except when the Mods come on) and without any great thanks; but a fair amount of the time with significant disrespect. As someone said earlier, manners cost nothing.
Disagree by all means, but the cheap jibes against Paul67 are, IMHO, uncalled for. He provides the forum and we should all respect that.

Celtic passed on the details and cctv footage of four supporters for a banner displayed against the monkeys despite the club stating they had no issues with the banner. Those supporters have subsequently been banned by Celtic.
This isn’t an unusual occurrence.
Keep saying this but the board is a BUSINESS and their job is to make more money for the BUSINESS.

On the Dave Clark 5 song, I remember crossing over London Rd on the walk to the park at the same time as a Manchester City crew were making the same walk for our Champions League match.

We are Celtic supporters and what can, or have we done about potentially the biggest fraud in football?
Not much, because most don’t really care all we want to do is watch Celtic live or on TV, and when you hear Fergus McCann say ‘ it was bad for business ‘ – I ask you?
Resolution 12 will be repackaged and won’t go away until the licence issue is openly challenged, but it is only one facet of the story of the downfall of old Rangers.
The way forward is to make Celtic invincible nothing else matters when Celtic are winning ‘the board’ have such a head start only they can mess it up.

I don’t believe I’ve posted any cheap jibes directed at Paul67.
I’ve asked that he posts an article with his views on a particular current affair which has been disgust publicly by 2 of the Requisitioners who’s opinions and thoughts have been backed by a third of the for guys via comms with Awe naw.
I do not believe that request is unreasonable.
It is easier I’m sure to write about the positive side of the club rather than the negative but Paul’s opinion on most matters is always welcome whether or not I personally agree with him or disagree.
I also don’t believe if is bad manners to ask.
It is a public blog for public consumption and what Paul decides to write is of course up to him and I respect that. However I also have a right to ask Paul what I please within the rules of the blog without it being stupidly called out as bad manners. This is not a private dwelling.
To make it clear if I was sat in Paul’s lounge having a half at Christmas face to face I’d also ask him this personally and I doubt he’d view that as bad manners albeit he may well not answer as would be his right.

Back in the day, the reason for coming on CQN was to read Paul67s opinion on the controversial topic of the day. You could agree or disagree. It created a great blog and as the header says….”Not lazy journalism”
It made CQN the first place to go for truth and fearless statements.
It’s not like it used to be. Paul67s silence on the boards reluctance to take up Res 12 smacks of the opposite of what this site once stood for, calling out bullshit for what it was.

All I was saying is that many, many Celtic fans are buying into the ‘Old Firm’ nonsense – I DON’T but thousands and thousands do!

I’ve never felt the blog title or topic ever determined the subject choice of the individual poster.
I’d go as far as to say that, apart from the live match blogs, over 75% of the posts under a blog heading have the square root of bagger all to do with the heading topic.
That’s not to say that Paul’s views would not be welcome but they are far from essential in order to debate a topic and there is no point in misrepresenting the past. Apart from the early days, it was always thus. It’s been a long time since Paul was a regular poster on his own blog.
There are plenty folk willing to debate and chew over topics without calling for the “boss” to have to answer your points.

I’m guessing it’s Neganon’s post that has stirred this up and I too have had, not had, had again, lost then regained my suspicions of his tactics but he to has the right to ask.
Even with my suspicions of him more often than not I do agree with the relevent points he makes rather than the way he makes them.

Too true the heading post might influence the first 10 or 20 posts but it helps engage those of us who are bored at the nonsense posted under the previous post.
So it does the job and keeps the blog rolling forward, if P67 should 3 or 4 days of inactivity I am sure the blog would slowly stop producing the high number of comments it does.
Whilst I might not agree with every post I am grateful P67 keeps the blog active and allows us all to clear the previous days nonsense, for a few hours.
More power to him, I don’t know how he does it daily and that is a huge effort to keep producing new and relevant content daily.
