Short-term fix for staple Euro strategy

985

There’s always a bit of reticence signing a player who has been away from his previous club for four months. Carlton Cole hasn’t played since starting West Ham’s final games of last season, and presumably has only trained in isolation since then.

Expectations of a quick return, should Celtic offer him a contract, have to be tempered with the realisation that he’ll be at least a month away from full fitness, but by then we will be set to face Molde away.

One aspect of our play that will concern Ronny Deila is that we’re short of attacking variation. The high ball forward to Samaras, so long our staple on the road in Europe, is not an option. This will be the reason why Carlton is training at Lennoxtown this week.

I’d expect a short-term deal to be concluded between now and January, to give both sides a chance to check out the fit.

Is Scotland more racist than Ireland?

Every country has these idiots. The targets are different though.

I’ve always thought the Heian’ coos were docile. The laugh is that Mrs Emeraldbee is qualified through the ole Milk Marketing Board (now, THERE’S a link to the past!) and is still sh*t scared of coos! Today we had to climb two barbed wire fences to get down towards Rhubodach, just to avoid an amorous bull! And it wisnae me!

Recorded the Sevco game tonight and watched when I got home from Embra. I’m embarrassed to say that I thought Steven McLean wasn’t trying as hard for Saints as he might have, even though he gave the beautiful back heel to set up Murray Davidson for the first goal. I was cutsing him for missing the sitter and for a few other things ehen Saints moves seemed to break down at him but Michael O’Halloran totally exonerated him when he said that McLean had run his heart out. I believe that McLean is the brother of referee McLean who is so impartial were Celtic are involved. However, if I’m wrong I’ll be the first yo hold my hand up.

What a dismantling that was. Sevco were clinically taken apart. It looked like a full time team against a part time team. Saints deserved everything they got out of this match. It was a clinical, tactical, well thought out, team performance. When will the deluded start to catch on to themselves? When will they start to critically analyse meeja reports of their performances and predictions of what they are capable of?

Before the game we had that muppet Craig Paterson extol how different this Rangers team were from the team that Motherwell humped 3-1 at Ibrox in the play offs ladt season. He was right, in a way, a lot of the personnel were different but the result was exactly the same. I was glad for every Premiership team that won through tonight. If Sevco had gone through and others had lost we would have been bludgeoned for the rest of the season by, “there’s not such a great difference between the Premiership and the Championship” quotes and how Sevco were going to present a formidable threat next year in the Premiership.

    Isnt it?

Gordon64 meanwhile is an anti democractic facist. Lets ignore the democractic vote of scotland. Cos he didnt like the result.

Ah wont modern scotland be a great place with people like him and I heard he was dead in charge.

I should have also added, congratulations to St. Johnstone players, manager, Tommy Wright and backroom staff for preserving the integrity of the Premiership for standing up and being counted tonight against an average but unbelievably hyped and overrated Sevco team. Well done lads and enjoy your well deserved victory.

I must have missed someone posting that. Can you point it out for me please?

  23. Macjay1 you said

    “Racism is based on generalisation.

Labelling a country and it`s inhabitants racist and sectarian based on comments from individuals within that country or from that country is in itself inherently racist”

Your first point is clearly wrong. Racism is not based on generalisation – its based on hatred of a race – but you are correct in that the racists believes “they are all the same”.

Your second point is absolutely correct. Thats why I keep pointing to institutionalised racism which I believe is endemic in scotland. The institutions and their promotion of the racists is what feeds its continuation.

  24. BGX
