Show no compromise

210

If Celtic sacked our manager and appointed an ex-Shetland Islands select coach a week before a Champions League qualifier, I would be very concerned.

If we take care of Rosenborg tonight, their preparations will be looked at, but there is another narrative. Fail to deliver tonight, and you will hear about Rosenborg players rallying together in the face of adversity.

I expect Celtic to win well, but that will depend on the players showing no compromise.

Get Armani to design our kit, after some deliberation it couldnt be worse than a few of the monstrosities we’ve had, im thinking the pink strip and of course the light green one with sick down the side of the front.

Any minute now somebody will post ” dis the Arzani ‘signing’ mean we’ve dumped McGinn? “

    hope so

  6. Now that we’ve dumped McGinn and prepared to wait 117 days does this mean we are taking Europe seriously?

Armani would be a great signing if it was a permanent deal. I said during WC that I hope Rogic was having a word in his ear about joining us. I just don’t see the point in a loan deal when we have our own young players in need of game time.

    …………………..

I don’t think Armani really suits us. We’re more of a New Balance kind of club.

  10. Gamboa certainly impressed at the World Cup. Let’s see if he can replicate it at club level.

Newcastle have activated the £3m release clause of Deportivo La Coruña defender Fabian Schar. We understand Swiss international is due on Tyneside for a medical today.

About to have a spot of lunch then settle down to watch the game. My overall impressions of our performance in the first tie were generally very positive. I feel the team has significantly matured and I’m looking for a similar performance today…….no matter one or two are unavailable. We shall see !

  14. Official Green n White news

CRISTIAN Gamboa will make his first Hoops start since starring at the World Cup for Costa Rica in tonight’s UEFA Champions League second qualifying round clash with Rosenborg.

The right-back last featured for Brendan Rodgers’ side back in February against St Johnstone, but he comes back into the side after representing his country in Russia, where he played in all three of their games.

Gamboa’s inclusion is one of two changes to the team that dispatched FC Alashkert 3-0 last week in the previous round of the competition, with Scott Sinclair also restored to the side.

The Englishman will start on the left of an attacking trident in support of lone frontman, Odsonne Edouard, who will be aiming to continue his impressive early-season form. The injured Moussa Dembele and the suspended Jozo Simunovic are the players to drop out.

Notably, Tom Rogic also makes his first appearance in Celtic’s matchday squad this season, the Australian named among the substitutes, having been in action for Australia at the World Cup.

Kick-off in Paradise is 7.45pm. Head to @celticfc for all the pre-game build-up and live match updates as the Scottish champions aim to harvest a positive result to take into next week’s return game in Norway.

  15. Looks like Scott Allan has impressed Brendan during training, the boy can play imo, I reckon he would be a star in the likes of La Liga, they tend to protect the footballers there.

  16. The CL qualifiers don’t give enough time to rearrange work commitments to get to CP. As a result, I’ve given my ticket to a mate while I’m in a hotel in Ingerlund listening to Radio Scotland online.

Having read back, lots of debate about Brendan’s frustration about the lack of signings. Does anyone actually believe he wasn’t aware of the financial imbalance between Celtic and English sides before taking the job, never mind after 2 years in role???

In Brendan I trust. Double treble, unbeaten domestically in the first one, developing existing players, some (not all) smart buys and qualification for two CL group stages.

    These are hard times indeed!

  17. Wee bit wary that our two central defenders are up against Bendtner who is very experienced and at over 6 feet tall could dominate in the air.

It worries me when I say things like that, but it’s the way I see it, we concentrate and we will win, tonight imo is one of these games if we don’t make any mistakes we won’t concede, it’s now down to mental strength.
