Celtic’s statement yesterday (available on Phil Mac Giolla Bhain’s site) covered a lot of ground. It explained the environment the club operates in, its policies and strategy, gave historical context of their objections to the Offensive Behaviour Bill and on-going opposition to the Act. In short:
Where we are
How we arrived here
What we’re doing about it
Most importantly of all, the club again advertised the Supporters Complaints Review Panel, populated by Celtic fans to investigate and review complaints by fans. The importance of this structure has yet to be fully understood but it is the most significant development in supporter relations since Brother Walfrid said, ‘How you do fancy starting a football club?’
I spoke to three prominent supporters yesterday about the schisms among us, all of us were so dispirited. Fortunately, our good friend Jeanette cheered me up this morning and assured me we are pretty much on the one road (my words and not a cue for a song).
And it was Jeanette Findlay, not Krankie, before you ask.
The football will be back soon, hang on in there.

Those memories and pictures posted by BSR and Topkat on page 9 are cherished by a relative 40 something youngster like myself. BSR pictures duly saved.

I remember Hal Stewart at Morton, when Ally Mugrow was captain, those were the days my friend
Interesting news from England regards Coventry, who tried to play the Deidco administration/liquidation card by claiming it was not the football club but the parent co. that went into administration. The FA , unlike our Masonic cabal at the SFA have quickly ruled it is the club and not parent co. who are in administration and imposed 10 pt penalty.
Let the house if cards fall!!
Coventry City to be docked 10 points after High Court hearing
Crisis club Coventry City are facing an automatic 10-point deduction from the Football League after being ruled to be “in administration” following Tuesday’s High Court hearing in London.
“An administrator has been appointed,” said James Powell, from solicitors Walker Morris, acting on behalf of Arena Coventry Limited.
“That never sounds great.” he told BBC Coventry & Warwickshire.
“But it is probably good as it will provide stability for the club.”
The Sky Blue saga
BBC Radio 5 live’s Midlands correspondent Pat Murphy:
“It seems certain that Coventry City will be deducted at least 10 points.
“ACL today withdrew its application to place the club into administration. It was ruled that City had already done that by placing a subsidiary company (Coventry City Football Club Ltd) into administration last Thursday.
“This afternoon in the High Court there’ll be a hearing over costs but the next significant move comes from the Football League.
“More than 10 points could be deducted if the Football League rules that placing the subsidiary company into administration was just a ruse, by stating that one subsidiary company was different from another involving Coventry City.
“If the Football League decrees that this is just about one club, rather than subsidiaries, then Coventry may incur a further punitive deduction.”
City had been taken to court to face an administration order from ACL, their Ricoh Arena landlords, over a year’s unpaid rent of £1.3m.
The football League have decreed Coventry FC are in admin. Not the subsidiary company.
A bit of sanity at last

The bhoy Jinky
Undoubtedly Green would say all administrations are different and that may be true. However , he cannot escape the general principles of admin are all the same.
Like Coventry , Deidco held the ‘ golden ticket of league membership’
Any MSM should be all over this but as we know won’t be!
Burghbhoy
Think the caller to ssb who prodded them about Dunfermline retaining history. .. was met with the ” different clubs… pars have no assets “

I’ve always said the Scottish MSM should be sent to Coventry ,now seems as good a time as any .
Wonder when chuckles and his pals in the MSM will deem the peepil adult enough to be told the truth about the dead club .
Snowballs in hell spring to mind .
Fergus
Given we have snowballs at easter…. keep the faith ;)
Top of the morning to you all from a wintry Fife where about an inch of snow has fallen overnight.
Third Lanark were the last team to attack John Thomson’s goal before that fateful day at Ibrox, and a fellow Fifer, and man he knew, was one of three to score against him.
From the Wiki:
Scotsman reporter says of Third Lanark’s performance: ” had they triumphed instead of drawing, the most perfervid Celtic follower could not have grumbled”.
In this Wednesday evening game at Cathkin, Celtic were shocked after only twelve minutes, when Fifer, Joe Breslin, opened the scoring, and though Jimmy McGrory equalised shortly afterwards Celtic went in at half-time 3-1 down thanks to further goals from left-back James Warden (pen) and ex-trawlerman, Neilly Dewar. Only a spirited second-half fight back by the Celts, with goals by Peter Scarff (56min) and again McGrory (60min), salvaged a point.

Definition of PERFERVID
: marked by overwrought or exaggerated emotion : excessively fervent
I still prefer the old CQN badge.

Celtic1888 – I can offer an answer to your question as to why Celtic would want to crush the GB.
There was a clamour to condemn sectarianism after the so called shame game and the atmosphere was at fever pitch. The police had already declared to smash the GB (quite how they got away with that statement I will never know – but it is scotland after all).
Celtic went down the road of appeasment with the authotities. As I have often said – appeasment never works.
And here we are. Celtic believed that appeasment to the authorities was more important that believing you support.
What a mistake!
