Signing no-marks, CL shake-out

You have to love the weeks of anticipation ahead of the new season, when teams can consider that just about anything is possible. Nowhere is this truer than at Newco, where the pages of newspapers proclaim the signing of some or other no-mark you have never heard of.

From a purely football aspect, the imminent challenge for boss Caixinha, to qualify for the Europa League group stage, is fascinating. Do not for a second believe he has been asked to lay a glove on Celtic, pragmatism determines this is clearly not possible.

After a season of domestic invincibility, there are a few in our ranks who believe our own imminent challenge, to qualify for the group stages of the Champions League, will be a formality. I doubt it will be. We will certainly be better prepared than we have been for many years, but you can expect to see tense times in Scandinavia, Easter Europe, or perhaps Central Asia.

Celtic teams with Larsson, Sutton, Hartson, Thompson, Lambert and Lennon failed this task. Peter Lawwell has money to spend right now, but he cannot count on a huge dividend from Uefa until it is guaranteed.

The Road To Lisbon team announced this morning that they achieved their target of raising £50k for Celtic FC Foundation, Solving Kids Cancer and Children in Crossfire. It is a breath-taking achievement by CQNers and others. When Mouldy67 looks back on his life’s achievements, this chapter will put the biggest spring in his step.

    I have hung off from looking at any celtic news today,in the hope that when I did there would be something with a bit of substance about Wee Paddy.I am distraught.Nothing,Zilch,Hee Haw.

     

    I think the worthies on CQN should run a raffle and donate the cash to buying Wee Paddy ourselves.Easy.

     

    How many times will the SMSM mention the words”Jetting in”International””Star””Hot shot””Sought after””Highly rated””Starlet””Desperate to join”,concerning the last phrase,”Desperate”alone does not count.

     

    Over a two week period,we could raise enough money for 2 Paddys.

    It makes some sense in all that heat.

     

     

    I assume that it’s a house fashioned from a cave, not just the raw article.

     

     

    I’m half expecting to see him on that Kevin McLeod Grand Designs programme on the telly one of these days.

     

     

    We’ll know it’s him because of the green and white swimming pool.

    Bada Bing – If you don’t already use UBER, download the app, register you credit card, sign up for it and use this at Orlando airport. Much cheaper than using an airport cab.

    Hi mate.Maybe not your cup of tea,but I live in Turkey.Worth looking,and comparing the prices of property,here to anywhere else.Cheap country to live in,and 12% interest on your money from the bank.

     

    At the moment with the fantastic exchange rate,a 3-4 bedroomed Villa,new build,can be had for around,80 grand.Same in Spain would set you back 4 times that.

     

    Just check all your options ,in different places,before going ahead.A lot to consider before making the move.

    Just back from Orlando myself. Uber NOT allowed, yet, to pick up from the airport.

     

     

    Register a credit card on the App take an airport bus or taxi to a local eatery with wifi and call an Uber from there. Circa $70 for a taxi to a Disney hotel. Less than half price with Uber.

    It was a strange result. Delighted for the jockey though. He has had his ups and downs over the years. That win could set hin up for life. He is entitled to a percentage of the prize money but more importantly a percentage of all future stud fees
